We install the Shelly 4PRO with energy monitoring and 4 relay output, and take a close up look at it, and try and decide if there is a place for it in the connected home. We also consider what loads 10a Relays can switch, with out the relays becoming damaged quickly.

You can get Shelly em energy monitor so you can monitor the load on the other circuits for the pool equipment

Strange I found them an awsome addition to the smart home, I have openhab running as my central controller, Put 2 Shelly 4pro's in my gardenshed / garage -> and shelly talks openhab with mqtt + my push buttons just work in the garage... plus no hassle with the belgian electrical certification.. = insured when theirs a fire

Great vid, are these certified in AUS? Looks like some of the other Shelly products are, just haven't been able to find anything on this. Thanks again for the great work!

Hi, my shelly 4 pro is a brick, black screen and no on or off light. Is there guide for reflash firmware? If connect see wifi network, but try connect, after one second disconnect. Thx

The shelly 4pro is definitely better than the sonoff 4channel, it does cost more though so I guess you get what you pay for

HI Jimmy, Great info! I want to get more info on yor setup for pool pump and blowers. I currently have to go at the back of the yard to turn on blowers, so I thought if I can install 2x shelly1 (or 2.5) to turn on pool pump (put integrated time on 24/7 and let set timer on shelly) and blowers would be great. Currently running double powerpoint on a 30amp dedicated pool circuit. install sub board at powerpoints with relay/contactor? or install relay/contactor at main power board? I will be getting electrician in to do but just thinking the best (and cheapest) way. Correct me if I'm wrong (lots of reading) - the pool pump connects through the chlorinator which has it its on sufficient relay? - therefore only need one relay contactor? Any help appreciated...cheers

I want your opinion after testing the shelly pro, is it strong and safe for permanent use?

If it has 1 or 2 amps yes it's ok which is most like what it would get used for. I wouldn't be confident with a big load near 10a, the parts/PCB track Inside look a bit small. It has pretty good wifi reception it works right out in my shed. Where the esp32 module in my shed drops in and out.

Yes it was, it works ok if you just turn it on and go, but I've order parts to control it better as it gets too hot to quick and the solder balls a lot. I've order the reflow master from accidental maker, it looks pretty cool.

I would like they to make a 4 relay in wall box. Even if it was double the size of the Shelly 2.5. at my house I have some 5 gangs switches that I have to replace with 3 Shelly devices.

Hi Douglas, depending on how into DIY you are you could use a D1 MINI or similar to control your lights via HA/ESPhome at the switch plate using regular light switch mechs. And use smart lamps and/or place your relays else where like in the light fitting or roof space. In this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hGw9F6IkHMI.html from about 12:15 - I have a DIY 4 gang switch with a 3 relay module, the 4th button I now use to control my hall light via HA and the relay is elsewhere and one relay is not used, and the the other button controls 3 lifx lamps over my dinning table. Even though is depends on wifi to work I've have 0 issues with it so far. So in short mix and match to make it work. @@SparkyJames I decided to not use smart globes, instead I will only use smart switches. I don't really want to rely on wifi to have the normal operation of the lights. And smart switches end up being more cost effective as the house have a good amount of downlights. I thought about put the shellys at the light fittings but I think at the switches it will be fine. I have gyprock wall so it has plenty of space behind. I watched your videos with the 6 relays and other videos with the boards you design. I think you should definitely put those boards for sale, if you sell it as DIY kit, I believe it does require any certification.
