As requested, a quick ride out on my Shengmilo / Gunai MX02S eBike
Obviously ignore the date/time stamp on the video, hadn't realised it was incorrect until I got home. Taking a quick scoot through a local park before heading out of the city so I could open it up a little. Hit a top speed of 36.2mph / 58kph at around the 5:39 mark! Absolutely incredible speed, even for an eBike.
As you can see on the rest of the video, a more realistic everyday 'cruising' speed is between 30mph and 33mph on a level road - which is still very fast indeed and perfect for making your way around town. Probably important to note that I'm about 5'8 and 13 stone / 180 lbs, your speed will likely vary depending on your own height and weight!

Hi all. Ive got the exact same bike and i bet you didn't know that it has a mode where you can access the '9 Gears mode'. You gotta access the menu by pressing down both up and down arrow to access the P menu. Go to P5 and press 2 and voila. U have 9 gears and it makes the ebike much faster than having either 3 or 5 gears... And if you wanna make it even faster then go to P menu 14 and change the amp settings from whatever it is to 18 amps then go to P18 and adjust speed ratio to 150 and viola.. Now the bike will take you to 36mph on the flat using just throttle and over 40mph with some peddle assist in gear 9... ENJOY AND DONT FORGET TO THANK ME. 😂

I received the bike yesterday and in todays ride full throdle with some help of my legs I managed to reach 63 kilometers per hour or pretty much 40 miles per hour :) shits damn crazy fast!!

@@suwindissanayake6988 it's an amazing bike. So far I haven't gotten any problems as it comes down to the electronics of the bike only the usual like the breaks and seat. It has survived rain and holes as I had been using it for delivery. The battery after 1800 km is still strong. So I would recommend it with eyes closed.

@@ylovesa310 Hi yes took 4 weeks to arrive all safe and well, came with all the extras like helmet, gloves, glasses, rear rack bag, 2 x 17.5 ah batteries. Bike is great put over 300 miles on it so far, have changed a few things like seat, peddles, handle bars (personal choice) I am 18 stone 6' tall and can get 32mph throttle only. really enjoying it and get out most days on it. would highly recommend the MX02s great bike.

Have recently sold the bike but it always served me very well, replaced the front brake caliper a few months back because one of the seals went - was a bit of a fair weather rider so never had it in very heavy rain but no bother in normal wet weather. Hope you enjoy the bike!

You can set what speed you can start applying throttle and you can also set a maximum speed - I've got line set up to allow me to use the throttle from a standstill and don't have a max speed set

Sorry have since sold the bike as wasn't using it as much as I'd imagined I would - had no real issues, had to replace the front brake caliper as one of the seals failed but otherwise was absolutely spot-on

Speed is great, you lose speed on the hills but it manages them really well. I still haven't really tested distance properly, weather has kept all my outings short so far

No that's it completely as standard, the only thing I did in the control panel was the disable pedal-assist and select throttle-only as I wasn't a big fan of the power kicking in when pedalling at low speeds. Have since sold the bike but had no problems.

you dont want softer ride on concrete the suspension is mostly for trails because you want the tire to stay firm on the road to shorten braking.unless you have a bad back or ailment of course

Is there any difference between the Gunai Mx02 and the Shengmilo Mx02s. I've found both and the price is a £150 difference. I'm wondering if the the more expensive gunai is worth it or if the cheaper Shengmilo branded one will deliver the same. I know u said it's just branding but they seem to be sold by both gunai and Shengmilo still?

I'm not aware of any differences, I think Shengmilo is probably the most 'recognised' of the two brands but have a sneaking suspicion they come from the same factory with different labels applied. I bought through Amazon so my first point of customer service would be through them I'd say.

Nice video! I'm considering buying this bike for commuting to work everyday here in Lisbon, about 4km each way. Do you this bike would be good for this use in your opinion? Also, I'm 1,94m and the specs on amazon says that the bike is suitable up to 1,90m, I'm quite worried that it would be small to me, what is your view on this bike size?

I think it would be perfect for a 4km commute! Sorry I really don't know about how suitable the bike size is, I'm much shorter - it's worth bearing in mind the fat tires add an extra couple of inches to the ride height.

Thanks again for your tips on how to set up my bike , , , i have been doing a lot of riding and getting a lot of enjoyment out of my bike , i can regularly hit 30 MPH (miles per hour) but can't get past that , not even one mile per hour more , , , any ideas how and why your bike reaches 33 and 35 so easily , , , is there anything else you have done , , any other tips i can try , , , or do you think you just got a faster bike some how ? . @@noodles169 That's the answer. I have a Fiido M1 PRO. I weigh 190lbs and get a top speed of 26mph on it on a given flat stretch of road. My friend weighs 155lbs and gets a top speed of 29mph on the same stretch of road. So weight is definitely a factor for speed.

Yes the bike is delivered unlocked, so if you want to set a speed limit you have to set it yourself on the control panel

Yes you can use both pedal and throttle together, but the motor can only be driven by either the pedal assist or the throttle at any one time - if you twist the throttle open it will pick up over the pedal assist. It won't make any difference using them both together if that makes sense.

@@MoToxicity No worries mate. I think in theory PAS 5 should be the same amount of force on both but I wasn't a huge fan of it kicking in when I was trying to pedal at very low speeds so I've disabled the pedal assist and just use throttle alone

i noticed when you did your speed test the LCD sceen showed that you were in power assist 5 , you said in your driveway review you didn't like it set in peddle assist mode , that preferred full electric / throttle mode , how do you/we turn off peddle assist and go full electric ?

If you hold down the up and down buttons on the display controls for three seconds it will give you access to the various settings of the bike ranging from P01 to P20. Setting P10 is the throttle mode, 0 is peddle-assist only, 1 is throttle only and 2 is throttle & peddle assist. @@AdsReviews , , , , thanks for the tip/instructions on how to adjust from throttle and pedal assist , , , , i had my bike out for its second ride today , in pure throttle i did not get much speed 20 to 22 MPH (miles per hour) , in peddle-assist 5 , i got up to 29 to 30 MPH , , , in your video you seemed to bounce from 29 to 33 , 34 MPH through out your video/ride and then you hit your top speed of 36.2 MPH , , , i know this a lot , but , can you list all the P-settings from 1 to 20 that you have changed to get the performance/speed that you are getting out of your bike , , , this is my first electric bike and i don't have the knowledge yet of how to fine tune the bike . @@jasonlepage7915 I have a note of my settings from 1-10, I definitely haven't changed any of the 11-20 settings though. On max speed the height and weight of the rider will have a fair impact, I'm about 5'8" and 12ish stone for what it's worth. Also check your tire pressures aren't too low. My settings are: P01 - 002 P02 - 001 P03 - 048 P04 - 010 P05 - 001 P06 - 26.0 P07 - 001 P08 - 100 P09 - 000 P10 - 001

Have you changed the wheel size to 29 inch? Speedo will be set to 26 as the rim is that but total diameter with a fat tyre is 29. This can be changed in the p settings. Have you done a range test on this yet? Great videos btw

Good call, hadn't even thought of that! Thank you, no haven't done a range test yet as just use mine around town so far but will have to plot out a bigger outing - think the range would suffer if it was flat out the entire time, might have to try one on PAS 5 and one on PAS2/3

hi, ive had this bike for around 6 months and only done around 600 miles ,its an excellent bike ,the brakes are brilliant it gets up hills easily,but i only get about 25 mph out of it and was wondering if you could post your settings to see if the problem lies there,thanks by the way ,mine cost 1250 pounds and is the sheng milo/

Hi Paul, sure - my settings are below. Just to note that I have mine set to 'throttle only' (no pedal assist) and also have the Zero Start enabled so I can use the throttle from a standstill. If that's not what you want then you'll need to change your settings accordingly. For speed difference the most likely culprits to be honest are height and weight, wheel size (mine's still set to 26 but should probably be closer to 29 as mentioned in another comment.) also I don't know if they've changed the batteries at all. On the top of mine it is marked as 48V and 17.4ah. P01 - 002 P02 - 001 P03 - 048 P04 - 010 P05 - 001 P06 - 26.0 P07 - 001 P08 - 100 P09 - 000 P10 - 001

hi there. i got the same bike, but i am quite worried about the UK LAW.... is the battery allowed in the UK ? what if i am stopped by the Police ? any thoughts ? it has got 1000w battery and UK law allows only 250w ...

The law doesn't limit the size/output of the battery, but rather the output of the motor and the speed of the bicycle. The bike comes without any limits set in this regard but I believe you can set the motor output to 250w and the speed to below the limit using the control panel settings.

I found out how to use cruise control which shengmilo didn't even know about 😁 go to P17 on your lcd settings and choose 1. While throttling at a steady speed, hold down the ⬇️ button and the bike enters cruise control

I've just recently sold it to a friend, but it was spot-on for me over the last couple of years. Needed the front hydraulic brake replaced but nothing out of the ordinary maintenance you'd expect with any bike.

This bike has 1000Watts peak power (full power up hill), but its nominal output is ‘only’ 500W (it is printed on the metal controller case sitting inside the plastic box). I think showing high speeds of like 35 mph without a clear explanation of the conditions and gradients (which is not easy to tell in the video) might be a little misleading huh. People will expect that speed on the flat and level…then be disappointed when it tops out at more like 23-25 (which is still very good of course).

Listen no 500w motor ever does 35mph. You would have to be going down a very steep hill. And gravity would kick in. The motor cuts out on a 500w motor around 28mph tops. He obviously isn't going down that steep a hill here. So the power he is getting is at least 750w. I have a FIIDO M1 PRO. Awesome fat tyre bike. And it can kick it to 26mph on a flat road max. And 30mph down a steep hill. It's a true 500w motor.

Don't buy on Alibaba. There are a lot of fake dealers who say they sell Shengmilo bikes but in reality they are selling batteries that can explode. For your own safety, buy from an official partner/seller from Shengmilo. Shengmilo has official local dealers. Buy from them.

😊 paradoxically, I think more powerful ebikes of say 500 watts and above are safer, it gets you out out the gutter and you can manoeuvre in traffic better.

I dont think the speedometer is accurate. It seems its running 28mph tops.

Very possibly, someone mentioned the tires are bigger than standard so that will have an effect - only way to be sure is to try a GPS run alongside I suppose. Either way it feels plenty fast when you're in the saddle!

Up the voltage get another 3 mph. Say a 52 volt battery, from a 48 volt.

Not good showing that speed because the government will ban us from using them legal limit is 15.5 mph on a 250watt motor

You can set the throttle maximum speed in the settings of the control panel - maybe the latest shipments come with a limit set? Presumably you can just go in and change it yourself.

Dont buy their bikes! They break apart after just 1 week and every part is bad quality! The customer service is hell and they will lie to you all the time.

@@exotic_sounds Yea, seriously. You could as well just buy a bike conversion kit together with a fat bike for 700 dollars in total. If you have already bought this bike, I can recommend you to photoshop a picture of your bike with the battery, so that the battery looks burnt or exploded. There is a high chance, that you get a full refund since the seller is already under investigation by the aliexpress senior staff. I highly recommend it.

@@Wulfis69 First: i bought the bike on amazon so no matters. Second: Im not a mechanic who has knowledge on how to fit a kit into a bike. Third: Ive driven this bike for 4 weeks and i have no problems. Im really happy so i wont do a refund

@@exotic_sounds Then you're probably riding this bike like 20km every week to the bakery, when the weather is fine. That is not really comparable to people, who use it regularly, regardless to the weather situation.
