This is probably one of the best casting decisions of all time. Martin and Ben fit so seamlessly, it's as if the part had been written for them and they simply went along with fate. Agh, I cannot wait for Series 4!
never thought that casting watson would need longer process than sherlock himself...and it was not actor's individual gravitas as watson that sealed the deal, it was the symbiotic relationship between watson and sherlock...amazing!
What, Wheatley Holmes? No, just no xD. Can't imagine anyone else as Sherlock. Fell in love with Ben and Martin instantly. The level of talent those people possess is INSANE.
"You can't cast a short guy with a Bristol accent." Well I know of a tall guy with a Bristol accent who wanted the part :p Stephen Merchant wanted it, heard Benedict was being cast and went, "Once again, a posh-o." And of course, everyone knows Benedict and Martin fit like Jack and Rose.
I've always loved this interview. Interesting seeing it again, with the first Hobbit film out, and Star Trek Into Darkness about to be released. And, of course, S3 filming!
My problem here is that I don't know whether you're referring to Jack Harkness and Rose Tyler, or the Jack and Rose from the Titanic film. God damn it.
