I'm 62 and there's only a few actors that have genuinely amazed me, I can't take my eyes off Brett, his movements, facial expressions, breadth of his speech is captivating.
Thank you Hardboiled Detective for bringing these for all.of us to see. I live in the United States and had never heard of Jeremy Brett. Being a great fan of Sherlock Holmes, i never thought i would like someone better then Basil Rathbone. I take nothing away from Mr.Rathbone's performances. But i believe Mr Brett will always be Sherlock Holmes!!!
During watching this episode the thought came to my mind was how wonderful it would be if beloved Jeremy Brett could come back like this. May his soul rest in peace 🥀
"Mrs. Hudson you're becoming indespensible." [Opens the door for her to take the tea tray out.] Poor Mrs. Hudson. Always the maid, the housekeeper, the messenger and every other lowly profession there is. 😜🤣🤣🤣🤣
Air rifles are older than that. Lewis and Clark took an air rifle on their exploration of the Louisiana Purchase in the first years of the 19th century. The rifle made quite an impression on the native Americans on their trip, and it was very useful in securing game.
💜 Jeremy Brett is the "Valentino" of actors who portrayed Sherlock Holmes. His mannerisms, his expressions and his voice, the voice that stimulates passion within a woman's bosom. Brett would have been an exemplary actor in the silent era giving Rudolph Valentino competition.
"Excellent" !! 👌👌" Marvellous "!!!👌👌 series👍👍👏👏 Acting and screen presence absolutely indispensable!!👌it appears that Hon. Mr. Jermy sir (Mr. Sherlock Holmes) almost comes alive on screen Ha!!!!👏👏👏🥺😰🤐
Bravo. Ovations deserved. Only the very special are awarded the Holmes tankard, Howard, Brett, Rathbone, impossibly Downey, and the enriched soil that slipped through unexpectatly.
Looking forward to thr New Sherlock Holms adventures #3 - Robert Downey Jr. & Jude Law. I don't know why this is so famous, endearig to the World, standing the test of time through books and Films. "Sherlock Holms & his Trusted Friend Dr. Watson", an old story by Arthur Conan Doyle. The Scotsman could write entertaining STORY'S!!! & WE STILL LOVE THEM.❤❤❤❤❤
According to the books, Holmes paid Mrs. Hudson in rent enough to buy the house. Fair treatment, after shooting a "VR" on the wall. Buy the way, Watson was the better shot.
FYI: During the filming of this series, Brett actually suffered quite severely from bipolar syndrome and and a heart condition. In particular, his bipolar issue was actually partly responsible for his acting as Holmes, being calm and thoughtful one moment, then suddenly almost exploding into activity. And his heart issues would actually kill him just a year after completing the Holmes series.
@@Irene-iu9sj Not necessarily. Decades earlier, during the Napoleonic Wars, the Austrian Army used snipers armed with a weapon known as the Girandoni air rifle. That may be where Doyle got the idea from.
@@evilmoif Dude its made from a Dickert and Gill made Pennsylvania rifle with fake parts, I have done much studying and there is almost NO information about it because its made up, however I am making a replica of it at home.
Have not watched an episode in some time and of course I have seen this episode before. I must say that I was disappointed with the acting though as it seemed unlike Brett and the whole feel of the production seemed like a play or a complete manufactured performance. Really unlike the rest of the series IMO. Brett is the best Sherlock ever though, RIP.
