WHY IS THIS APPEARING 5 YEARS SINCE THEN MY SHERLOCK HEART WON'T STOP BOUNCING

THAT was when I started to like Anderson. Before, he'd be firmly under the "Bastard who hates Sherlock and sleeps with Donovan" category. Now, well... I loved the scene where he told Lestrade "He's coming back". He's not that stupid, after all. As to why Greg couldn't see it. I think he did, but he's buried it, knowing/believing it was the grief talking. Poor Greg and John, those two were really hurting.

If John was "much better" I can't imagine how bad he was

So, this is my first time watching this, as I hadn't the faintest clue at the existence of a mini-episode, but I am doing a happy panic sort of emotion right now. Can we just talk about the fact that Sherlock actually made John a birthday video? I am so happy.

Anderson is the biggest fanboy

I have to say there's a new found appreciation for Martin. He does a great job. Unlike other portrayals of Watson he is not dramatic. He speaks curtly and has no-nonsense pragmatic attitude about him. With absolutely no tears in his eyes or any growling, he made us feel the depth of his sorrow and his anger.

It's 2023 and I still miss Sherlock:(

Are we just going to ignore the fact that Sherlock's gift was the essay about how all of John's friends actually hate him? Update: my headcannon that none of John’s friend’s actually hate him, Sherlock is just terrible when it comes to interpreting emotions. Especially when it concerns John.

When Sherlock was gone, he became Dr. Strange. Thats why Anderson is focused in the Nepali/Indian area. XD

Okay so anyone find it weird that whenever India is shown in a western movie, there is this yellow shady screen over it?

Cumberbatch and Freeman are both in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I sincerely hope they have a few scenes together and make a subtle reference to Sherlock. I also hope Cumberbatch as Dr Strange has a scene with Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark in which they both subtlety critique each other's impression of Sherlock. Probably not going to happen, but One can always hope.

Just re-reading "The Six Napoleons" and came across this: "You will remember, Watson, how the dreadful business of the Abernetty family was first brought to my notice by the depth which the parsley had sunk into the butter upon a hot day." --and totally flashed on this Indian detective's comment about the chocolate flake. On first seeing this mini episode, I thought that chocolate flake line was kind of silly and had you pressed me, I'd have said it was non-canonical. But here it is, essentially, lifted right off the page. Wow. That Moffat guy (Gatiss, too) is a Sherlockian wonk of the highest degree. Praise!

John's face at 6:15 gets me every time. It's so clear that he hadn't moved on at all. I wonder how many times, when Sherlock was away, that John heard or saw something that made him hope, for even a split second, that Sherlock was alive, only for it to be ripped away from him again and again?

I just watched s3e1 again and i realized that why actually Sherlock didnt tell John he was not dead. Obviously, it was not about missing something out of his mouth. Clearly, all people, world knew about from newspapers Sherlock and Watson, how they solved the cases together, and their special friendship. So, how could these people believe that Sherlock was really dead ? At this point, Sherlock had to give people a real proof. For the greatest possible proof, people should be able to see the great and true sorrow of John. Therefore, Sherlock let John to grieve for two years.He continued until he was sure that he destroyed all of Moriarty’s networks.
