Those are drug addicts who would do the same irate behavior to get a fix regardless of where they live or don't.. in that area it's white people and Hispanics. Blaming all this on homeless is wrong. You don't label drug addicts as just homeless people making life harder... I worked security in and around Long Beach and saw it firsthand. The homeless are like a zombie invasion, shuffling around, shouting incoherently, smelling like death. You don't want to go near them, but they're everywhere. No one seems to want to be the "bad guy" and do something about the problem. Like the councilwoman said, just kicking them down the street. Well, if you got tough and started really rounding them up, word would get around quick that it was no longer easy to be homeless in L.A. anymore.

My brother and I part of the golden age. He lived in Long Beach and I lived in San Diego for awhile in the 70's. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. Brother lived in Wildomar before passing away. I live in Midwest. Still have family in SoCal, (shout-out to ISKY Cams in Gardena) still like to visit, can't imagine living there, ENT, insurance and crime. Not true at all. What is the average income needed in the Valley to rent a studio or one bedroom apt? To buy a house? Speculative home buying has outpriced families from buying into the American dream or even renting a decent place in L.A. County. As a homeowner, we're lucky to have purchased when we did. We couldn't afford our house today. And by the way, we had to pay an additional 9k in taxes in 2019 when Trump capped state exemptions...

Bob Malooga, fighting back is the ONLY WAY, since the city and the politicians will not do anything. Just watch your back, the one you sprayed might try revenge or another one. BTW Don't know if you can get it in SoCal, but wasp and hornet spray can shoot a good ten or fifteen feet. Lived in San Diego for awhile and brother lived in Wildomar before passing away. We were packed in tight on the metro coming home from a concert last night. A homeless man didn't like people touching his stuff. Started beating on the window and the seats, making threats, cursing, throwing racial slurs (he was black) and talking about killing people. He got off at the wrong stop and started bashing the train with a metal fence post he had when he realized it was the wrong stop 😆 and didn't want to wait on the next train. People were genuinely afraid for their lives and there was a little kid just a few feet from him. These people are out of control. Time to take the garbage out, LA.

Do you think just placing these people in homes (in brand new communities no doubt) would make a difference? They would just destroy them like everything else in their lives and terrorize the surrounding area. They need long term care incentivized with rebuilding and cleanup for areas destroyed by antisocial behavior for noncompliance. I live in a developing country and there is plenty of addiction and mental illness here too, but they don’t behave like their American peers. The difference is that they know there will be a very swift and unpleasant punishment should they step out of line. That said mental illness and addiction are not an excuse.

It's actually a pretty good Mexican place, very conventional and old school. Good for drinks, or so I'm told (I don't really drink). Been there with my wife some years ago.

It's not about having a home. If a person can't take care of themselves. The government should step in and forcefully give them treatment and try to rehab them so they they can be a part of society or place them in a mental institution.

DRUGS. Most of the problem is drugs. Yes, some have mental health problems, but what percent of that is self inflicted by drug use? Pepper spray, night sticks, hoses, clean it up and force them to change on their own.

I'm a liberal, and that is BS. If you can't rent, or buy, vote with your feet and move. I have when younger. Drugs and non-enforcement of city, county, and state codes and laws is causing most of this. Agree, a percent of mental illness, but much of that mental illness is being self treated with drugs and alcohol today. Most of the homeless are exacerbating their self inflicted problems. Just another angle on it.

The restaurant has to raise their prices to help pay for the security but raising too much customers will stop coming. There's no comprehensive solution. They need compulsory shelter law. Can't just leave these people roam around just because they say no to shelter. What about the rest of the population?

We had law enforcement pick up a homeless person from front of our shop. He was passed out with poop all over himself and around him. 3 days later a social worker dropped him off in front of our doorstep. Mind you this is orivate property. The social worker then began to give us dirty looks and told us to back off as she was dropping him off. If they care so much then take them home.

The majority of LA residents who are Democrats have gotten what they voted for, that’s why we sold our house in NoHo last year and moved to Central Arizona after I retired from the railroad. Unfortunately a lot of these business owners are very conservative and are get screwed by the bad voting decisions of the majority of the Democrat Zombies.
