My Dad had the most beautiful pale blue eyes. I miss his smile which only lit up his eyes. I love you Daddy. Sometimes it feels like yesterday that I last saw you. You still mean everything to me. Your loving daughter, Patti 😢
Good women with silver hair turn me on like that silver haired woman in Heavy Metal from 1981. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lE3XGcb3VdM.html
I've been watching and listening to this video for years and years and cant help coming back to it over and over !. the harmonies of these two mega talents are just on another level !
There's Emmylou Harris and there's everyone else who sings duets. She can fit her voice to any other singer(s) she happens to be working with. It's really quite extraordinary.
Ever seen/heard the youtube video of Gram Parsons talking about Emmylou? He pretty much says exactly that. Ironic the guy who fist commented is named Graham. Check out Long Black Veil with her and Dave Matthews if you have not seen it. Awesome.
Absolutely stunning duet. I love the bit 57 seconds in where they both look at another and smile, because they know that they've absolutely smashed it out of the park.
Could you say what makes this the best version of this song? What sets it apart and above all of the other versions? I don't mean to question your opinion about this song, I'm just curious about what speaks to you in this song. Thank you, peace, 💚
Not for me... too much... noisy, crunchy, & not respectful of the sensitivity of the original artist's work. But it's subjective- if it does something for someone else- great. The vocals ofc are a great pairing; however... lacked nuance & sensitivity- I didn't pick up on a competition between the ladies, but they both were full volume all the time- so maybe it was there.
Here I have stumbled across this again. There is so much great music on RU-vid. Emmylou was still gorgeous after here brown hair turned grey. She's 71 now and still cute. This is beautiful music.
Music is the solution. Music an a funny things. Then we all can live in symbios. Grom the smallest ant to the biggest elephant. Hugs Lisbeth in Sweden.
Emmylou Harris has got to have the #1 most sweetest voice I have ever heard of out of all of the female country singers I've heard of throughout my lifetime of listening to classic country music.
The beautiful thing about this duet is that they compliment each other, and dont try to compete with each other, which just makes the whole thing more unified
Emmylou is just the best singer ever. The best because her sound is beautiful en her technique is outstanding. I do not know anyone who can sing double voices like her. She goes just bove, than moves under and she can move to another level as if it is normal. This is not normal this is art !!
A vocal master class. Why one has been a go to session singer for ever and star in her own right and the other is probably the finest female country vocalist that ever lived.
Never seen these two sing together - but what a great mix - love both voices! Emmy has sung with so many other artists - she's the undisputed country queen!
What can you say about this that hasn’t already been said. Absolutely spectacular. Two voices sent from heaven. No auto tune, no special effect. Just talent. This is my go to video when I want to hear something that will 100% give me chills.
I knew Emmylou when she was singing in a Northern Virginia coffeehouse in the 1970s. Went almost every evening and she greeted me by name. Sweet person, fantastic talent ... at that time undiscovered.
What both of you and your fabulous band did to this song, you gave it life, you gave it the intensity and a craving to hear it over and over again. That is where I feel great to hear it one more time.
My favorite duet since I first watched it on RU-vid a few years ago. I"ve been a great fan of both Emmylou and Sheryl, great artist and beautiful ladies ever since their beginnings. Add a Velvet song, a Strat solo, a Hammond and you get perfection 👍👍😎😎
Yeah Sheryl and Emmy Lou is another one 1⃣ of those collaborations you wouldn't necessarily think 🤔 of until you see a video , like this or hear a recording they've done together , and these two 2⃣ turned out performance that is an immediate Classic ,and should get both of them on the short list to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame more than once , each , for their contributions to the history of Rock and Roll as the genre of music 🎶 that had arguably the greatest influences on the youth , world-wide in history 😊😅😮😢😂❤😂😊❤😊❤
That would have to be one of the finest ever live performances. Those brilliant women and the brilliant band with a surprisingly incredible song. Flawless.
Have heard a few duets from both but this us just another realm of music. They have such fab chemistry together and it is obvious the way they look at each other with such respect. It’s just sensational.
Singing duets must be awesome when there are 2 as talented as Emmylou and Sheryl Crow. Those voices are incredible. Standing close & singing with EH would blow my mind!
I think i drifted off to heaven when I hear these great voices sing this classic Lou Reed song. Oh my God, what beautiful creations Emmy Lou Harris and Cheryl Crow are, never mind their great voices! Made in America rocks!
Emmylou and Sheryl get perfect harmony from lyrics that otherwise would go unnoticed! Fantastic singing and music! I never get tired of listening to this song
It is so refreshing when you see two female artists keeping their ego's in check and just so into each others voices and so focused on complimenting each others harmonizing. I look at the way Sheryl is just lovingly looking at and listening to how beautiful Emmy Lou's voice is and you can tell she's just totally getting off on trying to marry and dance her vocal part into it in a way which creates optimum equal sound. Love it!!!! They are definitely NO Celine and Barbara battling ego's here!!!
Emmy and Sherly enjoy singing together. They are brilliant together. Emmy can sing and harmonise with anyone. She blends with anyone brilliantly well and supports everyone without any ego. This song is superb.
Once in a lifetime performance of two great singers, absolutely fantastic. I have part of it on VHS but this is superb quality. ***** Thank you millions for uploading this!
Emmylou you are a music Avatar. We are blessed to be living in your time and thank God for technology for in a 100 years and more people will source inspiration realizing how wonderful human being can be.
this is the first time I ever see this and it's stunningly beautiful .... that these girls could sing is nothing new, but this version of this song is so incredible I'm lost for words ....
When the music and the voices air in an arrangement like this it is really something hard to match!A song like this helps me appreciate what good music is all about.
Fantastic start to the song by Sheryl and then Emmy hurries into stage and hits the high notes perfectly to send the harmony through the roof. It just keeps getting better with brilliant instrumental interludes. By the end it’s like a listening to the voices in a trance. The chemistry between the two is just amazing, such respect and trust, pushing each other to a point of perfection.
Name someone that Emmylou hasn't sung with! It doesn't matter who it it, she is an angel. Hey - there is a posting of her doing a song with Maria Mckee back in the day! It don't get no better than that! Thanks, Ms. Harris, THANKS!!
Watching the Band performing is a Big, big Song, with great patience, timing and harmony. If I had attended their concert, this performance would have been my value for money. No one can make this any better. I wonder what a reggae version may sound like?
