I've been watching your videos for a while now and I realized that I had not yet subscribed. I've since rectified that oversight. I just had my second shave with my Stainless Steel Shield AC Razor. I originally wanted the brass razor, but it was sold out. That said, the stainless steel version shaves just as well. I'm absolutely astounded by how close a shave I can get with this razor, even on my head! It might be my favorite razor now. I bought the Kai Pink blades off of Amazon and I'm happy with them. For the money, these razors are a real gem. I usually don't like single-edge razors, but these are truly exceptional. Cheers. - Kevin W
@@sellitman thanks for watching and welcome Kevin! I’m always happy to hear suggestions, comments and complaints. I look for ways to improve my videos and keep my viewers attention. This is a nice shaver, I may look into other razors he offers.
Real quick I’m going to wet the face. 😂 Nice artisan club razor. I don’t have any brass or copper razors but I do enjoy my Vector and most recently the Alpha Spirit that I just use. P-30 blades I like the best. Great shave, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
I tried a quick web search but found nothing. Maybe a few other viewers interested - who sells this Shield AC razor?--------Maybe change that; you said "Ali Express"; so I then ask, who ELSE sells the razor?
Hello Matthew I found something about the blue steel you talked about in the video, which you can see on your blade. I hope you won't be disappointed. Japanese steel: Super Aogami (super blue) is a carbon steel developed specifically for specialized knives and tools, made by enriching Aogami steel with molybdenum and vanadium. Your blade must be damn good. Kind regards 🤗
Brass looks so good when it's polished. That's what my dad did for work. He ran a polishing and metal finishing department for lighting fixtures. He used to come home with jeweler's rouge in his hair. I'm torn about finishes. I have a 6S and 6C, and I like one because I like the feeling of the smooth chrome and the other because I like the feeling of the matte finish. I'm a total hypocrite! 😂 I've really enjoyed this razor so far.
Hey Matthew, looks like a pretty nice/efficient razor. I agree with the warm lather, feels luxurious…I like it so much I got me a space scuttle from PAA. With it getting so hot, the cold tap water isn’t quite as cold as I would like to have for my post shave rinse, so I’m gonna have to figure how to make me an ice tube, thanks for the great idea!

Mike said he ships the AC razors with Kai titan mild blades with the blue edge. For a daily shaver I LOVE this razor. Fantastic! If you like the feel of this the Yaqi Romulus feels VERY similar and is open combat artist club. They are sold out last I checked tho.
@@Stubblemeetssteel that would make sense why it was different than mine. Do you think he would make an open comb plate for this razor? Thanks for watching John!
Great shave Matthew. Still don't own an AC razor, but heard great things from friends about the Shield AC. All opinions that I heard about it can be summarized with your smile during the video. It's very tempting to order one 😅 Have a great week!
Nice looking razor despite the blemishes, I do have the old version of the Shield AC2 in Ti, it was called Avenger and uses a wider head with a normal round screw pin, I need more shaves though to comment on how it shaves. Agree the Shield shop on AliX is a bit hard to navigate. Nice razor review though. Take care Matthew👌😎👌
Nice looking shiny brass razor. I'm not a fan of SE razors but I can appreciate that many wet shavers enjoy them. I do have the Leaf Twig and Parker Solo but rarely use them. Also, I guess I'm the odd man out because I have the 6S (matte) and 6C (chrome) and really can't tell any difference in how they feel. The 6S is my daily driver mainly because I like the look and the weight. YMMV strikes again!
@@BartBuzz I feel like 80% of the shaving hobby is preference. Once you find a RU-vidr or facebook group that aligns with your preference you can take what they say to the bank. From my experience there are guys that I can trust their opinions on soap scents and others on razors. It’s what makes it fun and aggravating. Thanks for watching Bart!
@@lawrence1md, I have 3 or 4 shaving channels that I watch regularly. The ones I usually skip are those that seem to like almost everything. When it comes to soaps and creams, it's nice to know what's out there. But I rarely buy until one of my favorites runs out. And I don't get tempted to buy new DEs since I have a daily driver and 2 or 3 others that rotate in from time to time. The rest just sit and gather dust. BTW, your channel is on my regular watch list. I like your honesty and that you keep your videos in the 10 to 15-minute range.
@@BartBuzz thanks for the compliment. I try to keep it at 10 minutes but sometimes I blab a little over. Looking back at my beginner shave video, I don’t know what I thought I could do in 10 minutes. Hahahaha
Great! It takes a little bit to get used to how his page works on Aliexpress, but then it's no problem. A lot of his razors are mild, but efficient and you don't seem to even have the angle right and it still shaves great. There is a titanium DE base plate that is more aggressive than the normal DE base, kind of hidden in the plain finish parts listing. You kind of have to put together your own razor with unfinished titanium to get an aggressive version DE and I keep meaning to order one. He's a super nice guy and talks with Josh a fare amount and I think he's a head shaver too. I keep having Josh pass along ideas I have to him like for an open comb SE Slant or suggestions for improvements on his regular stuff. He's an engineer and there is kind of a magic to his designs as for how mild the razor feels, it still has great efficiency. Have a great one!
@@lastshadow9351 I will have to look into more of his razors. Especially the half de razor. Maybe you can add a little pressure for an open comb plate. Thanks for watching Ian.
Woah, Matthew thanks for the shout out! I am proud to have enabled you. I am mid video, so forgive me if you mention it later. How do you polish the razor? Do you have a polishing wheel?
@@stevemeadowlands1246 yes and no… I haven’t really discussed my technique for polishing a razor. I do have a polisher but some of it is done by hand too. Maybe I should do a video on it sometime. Thanks for watching Steve!
@@lawrence1md I felt quite inadequate after pondering your video and spent some time with my Razor Emporium cloth and some Flitz and my brass Shield has some shine now!
Hi Matthew, Understand your feeling about matte finished razors. For me, adds a bit of resistance to the face. I do enjoy smooth finishes more, but always nice to switch it up a bit. Ouch, gotta be careful with the blades for sure. I’ve been lucky so far…. Best regards, Glenn
@@theluxuryshavinghobbyist that’s exactly what I was trying to say. I feel the matte finish has a little more resistance than the polished surface. Thanks for watching Glen!
Hi Matthew! Nice razor and shave! Thanks to a pass around I received yesterday the Shield AC1 in SS - for me the razor is very efficient and feels a bit like the Mühle R41. Have a good day and greetings from Germany! Christian
@@lawrence1md hi Matthew, I have a good amount of bladefeel (you know exactly where you are shaving) and across the grain on the upperlip I defenitly feel the blade more than with the actual version of the Mühle R41.
