hey man, how you doin'? I just want to understand, why in 20:50, you considered Est = 30000000psi? Obs: I'm from Brazil, and I just wanna to say, you do a really good job with your channel. I'm studying Mechanical Engineering Design this year, and always see your channel when I have some doubt. Sorry for any error in my english writing, I'm not so used to writing in english kkk
First, Thanks! Second, 30,000,000 psi is just what I typically use for a generic steel modulus of elasticity. If we were doing something more precise then Est would need to be looked up for the specific type of steel that we were using. I am using Table A-23 and just rounding a 1020 steel up to 30 Mpsi. I am doing a similar thing for the cast iron (although 20M Mpsi is probably a little high for most cast iron).
