I get a ton of questions pertaining to the Poison Adrena on the weekly basis and I figured it was time to put my true thoughts out for the rod line. Simply put, buy them and you won't be disappointed. I absolutely love them!

The Poison has a hook keeper. These slit slots where you put your pointer finger suppost to be hook keepers. However, I sometimes have difficulties getting my hooks out or find them blunt after using the slots

I've got three (the 6'10" Medium, the 7'3"MH, and the 7'2"Heavy) for the last year and half, maybe its been two years, great rods- couldn't be happier with them. Do yourself a favor and get a couple if your looking for rods in that price range ($400). Get an NRX+ if you need a JWR or bottom contact for the sensitivity, but get a Poison Adrenda and save yourself $225 for any moving bait rods. The Poison Adrenas are plenty sensitive, I'll just willing to admit the NRX+ may be a little more sensitive.

@nateriley4067
@nateriley4067 9 месяцев назад
@@michaels5809 I love it. I use it for worming, light swimbaiting, spinnerbaiting, and heavy spinnerbaiting- its kinda a jack of all trades when you're in the 1/2-3/4 oz territory. Really the Adrenas have a lot of overlap in what they can handle. Since I got mine a few more models have been introduced, but mine look as good as the day that I got them.

I have to agree. Poison Adrenas are amazing rods. In hand, they seem to weigh nothing and are unbelievably responsive. Hate to see that they just went up by $30, but such is the state of things. They are still very reasonably priced compared to other rods in their class.

I constantly find myself picking them up off of the deck of my boat. I am always looking for baits that I can throw on them because I like them that much. I wish they would make a 7'2 or 7'3" true Medium spinning rod. It would be amazing!

Do you think that they might renew their Poison Adrena lineup? Since they have released a lot of new flagship technologies that they've implemented in their JDM rods (like Nonopitch carbon, X-Guide Aerotitanium, musclecarbon, Nono Alloy, new inverted triangle carbon monocoque handle, etc). I personally suspect that they may release new Adrena rods with the release of the 2022 Shimano Stella. Check out the new Poison Ultima and Exsence Infinity rods ;)

they have poison tiers higher than the adrena like the glorious and ultima...the ultima being the TOP of the line. i would like to see an improved grip on the adrena...if the rod gets wet or in high heat conditions to where you're sweating as if you were in a sauna....the rod tends to slip. otherwise, outstanding rod that's highly sensitive...nrx sensitive.

I've always heard about the higher end Posion rods, but I'm not going to pay the crazy prices they want for those rods on the JDM market. I agree on the sensitivity of them, though. Crazy good for the price.

What do you think about that new expride. I have a Zodias 75H that I use to flip and cast 1/2 oz jigs from my jonboat and I love it but I’m looking at the expride 7H to use on my kayak since my Zodias is to long and is a pain to use from kayak. When I’m back in the jon boat I’d dedicate the expride 7H to flip and skip jigs and the 75 Zodias for casting my heavy stuff small swim baits and stuff

Just sent my 73MH PA in for a repair, hoping they replace it. The reel seat started moving out of place. While fishing you’ll start to notice the reel not line up with the rod guides, would have to twist the reel back into alignment. I put up with it and kept the rod until the tip broke while casting a 1/4oz Trig. That was the last straw so decided to pay the shipping fee to send it in for repair. Pretty disappointed in this $300+ rod.

Can you also throw wobblers from 8-10g with the 172m 10-30g? I now have the Adrena 2.29m with 5-15g and find it too weak for twitching
@OnAnotherLine
@OnAnotherLine 9 месяцев назад
I'm not sure where to start with a response here. Forgive my ignorance as I have to do some conversions here from metric. I assume you are asking if you can throw crankbaits on the 172 M. If that's the case, it would work well for that, but keep in mind that it isn't a glass rod, so you will not have the parabolic bend that most cranks require for a hookset. I do find that most Poison Adrena rods are slightly underpowered and are not true to their action that is printed on the rods. I find that they fish a little softer through the lineup. For example, the MH seems to feel more like a Medium to me. You might want to look at the 172 MH for what you're wanting to do.

I would choose the 1611M+ if I could only choose one. Next would be the 172H and then the 173mh. I say that because the 1611m+ is one of the most versatile rods that I own. You can throw a plethora of techniques well on that rod.

What’s the difference between the medium +, medium heavy and the heavy?
@OnAnotherLine
@OnAnotherLine Год назад
Medium + is a little lighter than a medium action. Has a decent amount of backbone, but more tip action. Medium heavy fishes more like a Medium in US standards. and the Heavy is more of a MH in my opinion.

@@OnAnotherLine I'm still baffled about what he said. I can't tell how many people said who have them how phenomenal the the poison adrena rod's are not only that these guys are high end rod users and have nrx , diawa steel , g Loomis one guy was saying the poison adrena is more sensitive than a nrx . It sounded like he didn't like how light it was, I haven't used high end rods in 3 or 4 yrs and I said to my self one day there has to be a 100 dollar rod out there that has good sensitivity. Well guess what there isn't. And I've heard so many people on u tube say why would you want to spend that much money. You know why they are saying that. Because they have never experienced that kind of sensitivity and I think that you are actually making it harder on your self because when you start fishing bottom contact baits you can't feel anything. Bro I have Brandon Cobbs rods from ark rod's they are 40 ton carbon fiber and they are terrible you know why. Bro they are not balanced properly and that is everything with a fishing rod. You want to feel constantly what your bait is doing down there and I'm not feeling that and I've had it. It's time to go back to high end rods like schimino expride B rods. I'm 60 yrs old so you could imagine how many rod's I've held in my hand the technology that schimino is useing is the best on this planet. And bro really when you think about it 280 dollars for a expride B rods that's a 400 dollar rod from another company. And I'm telling you something right now you are not going to get the outstanding quality that your going to get from schimino from any other rod . I've heard guys who own nrx putting them down and picking up the poison adrena rod's because it's so ridiculously outstanding in every aspect BALANCE, lightness, sensitivity, backbone. The one's I'm going to purchase next week are the expride B's bro the 7' 3 extra heavy is a hammer I mean you can set the wood to them. Anyway sorry about the long email but I'm trying to show these people that 100 dollar rods are just not worth it. Well not for a bass finact like me. God bless you and your family your pal fisherman Mike from Missouri.

@OnAnotherLine
@OnAnotherLine 2 года назад
You're going to think I'm being stupid here, but I'd go with the 7'2 Poison Adrena for an all around jig/texas rig rod. One of the viewers on my live show last night hit it on the nail head with the Poison lineup as having a true action of about one action lighter than they say. For example, the H feels more like a MH or a M+ to me. I use the 7'2"H all the time for texas rigs and I absolutely love it. The MH is more of a Moderate action and feels more JDM'ish if that makes sense. The 7'4" I believe is the large moving bait rod and it's a moderate action as well.
