I recently bought a Sienna 500-sized for ultralight panfishing, and I opened it up just to see what's inside. Like you, I was impressed with the lubrication, and quality of the fit and finish with the gearing. Shimano does a great job with these reels at their current price-point. No, it's not Sedona-level quality, but for $30 the overall quality is very good. With 4lb test monofilament, this little reel casts very nicely.

hello sir, can shimano sienna/nasci 2500 spool swap with shimano miravel 2500 spool?
@WhereWeWild
@WhereWeWild 2 дня назад
Not sure. 🤔 They’re very different style reels so I wouldn’t think they would, but only one way to find out I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️😂🤙🏽

I bought the sienna 2500 and the bottom part of mine where the handle is in the sun it’s like a glitery dark blue, is it supposed to be this color or is it a defect?
@WhereWeWild
@WhereWeWild Месяц назад
It’s a glittery black. Glitter might make it seem more blue I suppose in the right light.
@colethompson6148

@@WhereWeWild but it’s only the bottom part that’s the glitery blue, where the bail is that part is glitery black

Hmmm not really sure but I would probably be annoyed by something like that too, I really like matching the colors with my rods and reels lol but hey I guess as long as the reel works right 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hey man, I have this same reel. I love it for the price, but I started having some issues with it. It randomly will bind and when I go to start reeling it, I have to use a good amount of force to free it up and then it will spin just fine. Its probably about 5 years old and I've never opened it up. If I was to do so, what do you think would be the culprit? I found that if I flip the switch underneath, run it backwards, then forwards again its good for a little bit and then it will randomly bind again. Any ideas? Appreciate any help!

Hmm not really sure man I’d have to have it in front of me. Could just be really dirty, one of the gears or bearings could be damaged, anti reverse possibly. Honestly I would just rip it all apart step by step as I’m doing here and make sure everything is super clean, no dirt or sand in it, check the bearings, check for any broken parts or broken gear teeth, and get the fresh grease and oil where it needs to go. Then just make sure it’s put back together correctly. Probably see a huge difference if nothing is actually broken. 🤙🏽

Cool thanks for the quick response! That’s kinda what I figured I’d have to do….i ended up picking up a kastking reel to replace it with for the time being, but if I have some downtime I’ll take it apart and go through it like you suggested. Great video! 👍🏻

I appreciate the video but you didnt show how to take apart and put back together the bail/line roller. I took the two screws out and now I dont see how it goes back together. Theres a small spring that's giving me the problem, I dont see where it fits
@WhereWeWild
@WhereWeWild 2 месяца назад
Ugh… yeah man sorry I never take those things apart if I don’t have to because they are always a pain in the butt. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Only time I do is if they’re broken or I hear sand crunching in it. Bring up the schematic the link is in the description and just check out how it all looks and fits together that should help you. It’s not so so bad, it can just be a little tricky and annoying.

This is absolutely, without a doubt THEE worst reel I have ever bought. when i say cheap plastic think of that brittle plastic that 10 cent rings in gumball machines were in back in the 70's. I doubt there is even any aluminum on this reel. trout will laugh at ya if you showed up in the creek with this. not worth the time or Q-tip to even take it apart. I get that I'm somewhat "old school" but someone needs to do some time for this. Man, i'm not even telling anybody about this, it's like it never even happened, and i'll go to the flee market on saturday. Yo, yo, yo, how do ya say plastic screws? anybody says anything good about, oh never mind. I WOULDN't PUT THIS "REEL" ON A STICK. POS!!! Triple 87 got this reel for $11 and payed $10.37 to much. and don't blame China cause they would be embarrassed, it's made in Malaysia if you can find or read the microhide printing, but I sure feel that.
@WhereWeWild
@WhereWeWild 2 месяца назад
Hahaha jeez man I thought you were commenting on a Kastking reel video at first and realized it wasn’t. 😂 You want to see and feel plastic? Pick yourself up one of those! 😳😂 It’s crazy. This reel is way too heavy to be a brittle plastic like that. They’re pretty much all made in Malaysia. Not really sure what exactly what was wrong with your reel because you didn’t mention anything about that, but maybe it was defective. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ve had nothing but good experiences with any Shimano reel I’ve owned and I own probably close to 50 of them. I’ve had the old model of this Sienna for years and years and caught my 9.25lb PB Largemouth on it which I’m sure I mentioned. Haha and the newer red color Sienna 4000 I caught an 8lber on. Never had any issues at all with them and for $30 bucks or less I think you could do much much worse in my opinion. Sorry you had a bad experience with yours, wish you had said exactly what was wrong with it.
