Kazuya the Hero of Tokyo, Aleph the Artificial Messiah of Tokyo Millennium, Naoki the Demi-Fiend, Flynn the Samurai, and Nanashi the Demon Hunter face off against the God-Emperor of Mankind: Stephen Hawking. All we need is Captain Albert Shepard from Strange Journey and this tag team is complete.
Shepard won't be getting an English VA in Strange Journey Redux. None of the characters will. THE ONE FREAKING GAME where it would be most appropriate to have English VAs! -.- ATLUS USA... you really fucked up this time.
TheRezro Oh I have a prequel story idea about Steven I came up with before the form/ life we currently know him as in his past life he experienced similar things to that of Demi-Fiend and in the end ended up confronting the great will/ The Axiom demanding he stop this madness of energy conceptions! Well in the end he proved he should at least be heard but if he truly wanted to save humanity he would be given 1000 lifetimes aka reincarnations to prove their worth and power to the Axiom, that the Conseption isn't needed to push mankind forward. With this his world is restored and it's not until the end of the game where he would give his real name instead of the nickname made by the player to his main companion on this quest that being a Jack Frost find him in the next life because they've got a lot of work to do.
Niece fan-fic though you need include that he was a scientist working on teleportation (Star Trek style that is using digitization) who discovered that remnants of human thoughts stay as data in the system. He call those a Expanse and perform series of experiments on it until he be coincidence summoned demon who attack him almost killing (though there is a theory that he could also replace him.. what considering that you can't easily kill demon without proper tech is quite probable). Anyway he end on wheelchair and his research leak to management who start full scale experiments on high scholars. As answer he created Demon Summoning Program which crack system he originally created and later he start work for will of expanse itself.
When Stephen gets out of his chair you know shit is about to get serious, not just that when Stephen shares the same theme as YHVH, gives me chills everytime
YHWH did the most evilest thing to the 4 previous protagonist's ture power. YHWH disabled their "Save" and "Reload" in their universe. YHWH you monster (:
Here is a interesting question with the fight against Stephen, why didn't the four protagonist use their Demons? Why didn't Flynn in Shin Megami Tensei Apocalypse use Demons. It's not like the four protagonist set the Demons free like birds... or like Ash Ketchum (:
God it's over. Man I always get hyped for new smt because they make me remember how I first found Johne. Then get bummed when they end because they're my favorite Johne videos. Your my fave Johne
I had an idea on why the first hero is so important. Smt 1 is the world where Stephen in crippled and that's when he seems to gain his powers. So that means the first hero is literally the catalyst for Stephen to guide messiahs
The best way to end this LP, finish Stephen with the Hero (Yes...). And congratulations, you got lucky Stephen didn't use Singularity Wave. Now let's just wait for the Switch game. 😁
I like how the devs made SMT 1 hero's best attribute speed. it's like someone went back to SMT 1 and figured out "damn, he really was built for speed" but I guess maybe Nocturne is the reason they know, I dunno
After this DLC I want a SMT 1 and 2 remake even more for 3DS or Switch even More! Granted that could happen as Atlus said that SMT's 25th anniversary will be 2 games one on the Switch which is obviously SMT V and a 3DS which I think is probably eather tied into this new game on the Switch or a Remake of the Original
i can't believe this. that's what i subbed to you for, and i'm so happy i followed this walkthrough to the end. thank you, john. can't wait to see your future projects.
Speaking german, I nearly fell off my chair when you tried to say Freikugel (german word, literally it would mean "free bullet", reference to a german opera called "Der Freischütz") I do not mean to be offensive, it was just funny
In the Japanese version that skill could be translated as "supreme magic bullet". Nocturne's localization team then changed it into Freikugel because ... reasons. It's a pretty good localization, I think, since the protagonist got the "bullet" from the devil for 'free', and it hits pretty hard.
Satan is level 120, I guess I'll find out when I start playing this game You get to play as the other protagonists in that fight (which are level 125) and Kazuya actually has MP and special attacks, cool Wind is called Force, I always saw Force as a concentration of neutral magical energy, wait, that actually makes sense because Wind could sort of be seen as a neutral based element It'd be cool if the other protagonists could be actual party members but then again it wouldn't make sense on a narrative perspective
This was such a fun series to help get me through the daily grind. I cannot begin to express how blessed I am, not only that I can still work in these current times but also that I have series like this to distract from the miasma. Thank you for always being in such high spirits in all your videos, old and new. Sorry for comment spamming these last few days, I'll give you a break from me by playing this game myself when I get the chance! Here's to my first SMT game!
Johne SMT walkthroughts are great. His enthusiasm is contagious lol Also I would recommend you starting with SMT IV before you touch this one so you can familiarize with previous characters and the lore.
One really cool thing to note about Steven: In his first appearance, the the way he sits in his wheelchair is off balance, and very typical of the posture one has if they have Lou Gehrig’s disease. However, every subsequent depiction of him shows him with his legs crossed, but if you pay close attention you can see that he’s sitting up with perfect posture, something fairly difficult to do if you are unable to move your legs due to disease. It had been staring us in the face for several games that he was CHOOSING to sit, but was never unable to stand.
I like how Kazuya (SMT1 Protagonist) is on par with other SMT Protagonist even though he's in midpoint of the story. Really puts you on prespective on how powerful he is and why Lucifer is afraid of him.
That's still sadly nothing to the noucturn version of the demi fiend (mid game) Guy (on any route just make sure its mid game) can best raidou who's superior to Mido who's on par with Stephen. That's mid game demi fiend. End game (true demon route) demi fiend would tear apart everyone. here.
@@jackour8167 Not true, Demi-Fiend never canonically beat YHVH, Aleph did. So him and Nanashi are the strongest, it could even be argued that Demi-Fiend never fought Lucifer at full strength, also, this Demi-Fiend is from the actual Lucifer Battle, yet he died, doesn't seem to be stronger than Steven either.
@@darkhorse744 god f*cking dang it this argument again. Noucturn's demi fiend and messiah demi fiend are different So what if they beat Yhvh? Stephen is infinitely, INFINITELY above Yhvh so beating Yhvh isn't as impressive as keeping up with Stephen. Messiah demi fiend never died. He said he THOUGHT he died. But he didn't. It was said that Stephen was the one who brought him and the rest of the messiahs to fight him. Noucturn's demi fiend stalemated raidou who's superior to Mido who's on par with Stephen. Defeating lucifer wasn't any impressive as stalemating raidou. So please stop. Defeating Yhvh isn't any where near as impressive as existing in the same level as Stephen. The scaling should be : Noucturn's demi fiend (TDE) >>>Dante>==raidou >>Mido = Saint Germaine = Stephen >>messiah demi fiend >=kazuya >nanashi=>Flynn => aleph Also I never mentioned demi fiend beating Yhvh tf?
why do every boss that is in a chair always be unbelievable powerful as hell. Looks a birth by sleep final mix 😭 man I shutter to think what Igor would do to a protagonist if he gets out of his chair 😨
Absolutely nothing.P1 and 2 cast already fought either philemon or his equal nyarly.Igor, who's philemons bitch, would get pimp slapped by either group(3-5 is another story).
39:20 "Now is the point where I'll be using Gideon Bullet NOT to increase the amount of weaknesses that he has but simply to give him... more weaknesses" What you mean?
@30:00 ... THIS IF FUCKING RIDICULOUS! The music is all kinds of awesome, though. Yay. Huh, that's Shin Megami Tensei, I guess. Note to self: DO NOT play *any* SMT game on the harder difficulties.
Just a question out of pure curiosity sense I am new to the channel. What is your opinion on SMT: Strange Journey if you have played it? Also you are an amazing LPer, great job on the series and I look forward to catching up on your other projects.
+JohneAwesome excellent, this is soooooo epic. All the messiahs fell?, as a fan of the saga this quest answers many questions bringing the other histories, would u said that stephen is more difficult than Elizabeth?, I really enjoy your videos showing very good games. keep it up man you're doing and awesome job.
YHVH decided to play a little game of timefuckery and alter events to where the messiahs died from certain events they originally lived through due to them becoming absolute threats to him. Which means that while Demifiend did originally beat Lucifer, YHVH went back in time, amped Lucifer's power and thus Demifiend loses against him and dies. Which would have retconned both his fight in DDS1, his possible involvement in YHVH being split in Strange Journey, and his arrival in SMT: Imagine from the actual storyline
it's definitely and excellent explanation, wich leads to the DDS universe and how Demifiend involves in that storyline. This saga in a subtle way connects the events of previous realities, it's mind blowing.
JohneAwesome Yeah, but "Freikugel" is an actual german word. Moreso it's a composition between frei(=free) and kugel(=sphere). There's no fault in pronouncing it wrong, altough it sounds extremely funny to a native german speaker.
first playthrough is peace ending but anarchy ending is shown and while I dont show grinding on screen most demon fusions if not all are covered in depth
Still amazed seeing people playing MT games on the hardest difficulty when myself I usually go for normal difficulty and still get dunked on. I did a good chunk of SMT 4 Apocalypse on War until I went back to Conflict during Merka and Luci fight. I do like a good challenge for my skills but I can't see myself playing on the hardest difficulty unless I know that I'll get frustrated and either gave up or go grind but then it would feel not rewarding (I don't mind grinding when it's getting or farming an item.) It could also be due to having an obsession of always being a balanced character in RPG where my stats are around the same and me having all heavy damage magic skills (not counting Hama and Mudo skills) + Silent Prayer and Luster Candy. Sorry for my rant but again really amazed to see people playing on harder difficulty.
The thing I love about Megaten games is the fact that it lets you choose the stats allocation for each level. By no mean I don't want to disrespect you guys, but you should try to focus on a build instead of going balanced since thats what most JRPGs do (unless you get lucky and each level gives preference to a specific stat randomly).
@@seth7726 Nah don't worry, I know what you mean it's just not only I always go for a balanced character but it also feels weird for me when I have a stat that is overly busted because I can be like "Sure I deal a shit ton of damage but if I take one hit I die and/or I'm not fast enough but also it feels kinda like not having the volume to a specific level or that books are misplaced seeing something like (87, 58, 61, 42, 67) would irritate me, sure if it's done automatically (like in Strange JOurney) I have no problem but if it's me who choose where to put the stats I want to have my stats equal. Skills wise since I have most of the heavy damage magic skills (the 1 foe versions of them usually) it's in case I don't have a demon/persona or that the demon/persona who used that skill is KO thus I can avoid certains situations. But yeah this style of play isn't a good one if going for harder difficulties.
@@jordan20910 I can understand that feeling. I know it's stupidly risky to spend all your points into solely one stat and actually is unreliable in some cases (I hate how in buffmaister walkthroughts, he always spends all 5 points given per level into MAG and at endgame bosses is either miss 9/10 attacks or hit one massively strong spell). What I'm trying to say is that it feels great to have a dedicated mage or physical attacker/gunner that will shine over your demons. This way you can focus on a physical or magical build that only your protagonist can work up to its maximum potential. For example, whenever I start this games I like to spend 3 on MAG and the rest is for AGI and LUCK. This way I won't be missing or unable to avoid while also having the benefits of getting a great damage output. At lvl 99 (5, 5, ~280, ,~100, ~100) my protag will have a MAG stat superior to most demons but without being broken + just the necessary speed to be actually not miss 90% of the attacks. It's all about being optimal; your main character is the only one capable of manipulating stats after all.
What makes the SMT1 protag so special? Is he the last one to be found because he's the first protag or does he has some sort of better connection to Stephen compared to the rest?
TheRezro True, Naoki and Stephen never even met, Aleph was too busy with his mom and siblings to worry about a cripple he met in a video game. Flynn was more involved with Borrows and the Goddess. Nanashi with Dagna. Kazuya's only non-demon sponsor was Stephen and Tai Shang Lao Jun.
sooo..from what i'm gathering..*havent finished the video just yet* is that, ywvh got scared, pissed his pants that four messiahs were gonna fuck him over royally and said "fuck the axiom, i;m gonna kill them before they can fuck with me" and basically offed them before their BIGGEST events in their respective games..the smt 1 protag being offed by the icbm by intervering with the heroine;s spell, two being offed by the meggido ark cannon..and however he got the demi fiend and flynn. haven;t seen what they say yet..
***** Basically there is strong fan theory that they originally intended Lucifer as hidden player (he is one of few demons who have two different forms in this same time). But they seem to shift that role on Stephen making Lucifer generic fraction lieder which he never was outside SMT2 where Chaos in uniquely only reasonable ending. In fact for my Stephen is the real Lucifer, and that other one is knockoff created YHVH.. they even look different.
