Good Work on the playthrough and the fight Johne! Nuwa with Safeguard really is the key to make this far more consistent than it should be, those debuffs while keeping press turns is just too good lol (Idun is just cherry on top to keep you in the game the entire time). I do feel with phys/almighty build you probably were better off using Nahobino on 4th slot and having 3rd slot being the flexer to exploit weaknesses, I noticed you had some awkward press turn management cause sometimes both Zeus and Nahobino needed to use items (either to crit/charge or heal status) so the rotations ended early. Zeus definitely works amazing on Magic Build Naho cause you will have press turn for days though. Either way, you still made it work, so no biggie :p I don't think you mentioned it, but another benefit of Acursing Poison to skip Mediarahan is that depending how many seal turns you get you also avoid having to deal with all the Chaotic Wills in the fight, cutting down on the RNG factor quite a bit. (which is good, Chaotic Will is honestly just bs rofl) and of course you also had to flex on him with a quick kill right after xD

Man I just gotta say I LOVED this playthrough, felt really next level in terms of quality with the new voice filters and trivia transitions and everything else in between. Can’t wait to see what’s in store next for this channel!

What a ride! Thank you Johne! I feel this is truly the sequel to Nocturne, it just ties everything so perfectly. SMT4 was awesome in its own way, but I guess it was too different from its predecessor, and portable is a different beast. I'm getting nostalgic of how it was when SMTV was announced, the theories, and the absolute stunning visuals. I hope this game paved the way for new SMT games with larger budgets. Everything is possible now. SMTV, well done, it's truly the AAA SMT that people always envisioned. Thank you.

I love how much fanservice this fight has. It's playing the main battle theme from nocturne, he has the same moveset more or less. All around a fantastic ultimate boss

i really like how he ended at the first area in da'at, he ends it the same place it started

5:38 No actually. I'm pretty sure he just spams Freikugel on you. He will only use his insta-kill move if you fail to kill one of his ally's after a few of his turns (I want to say like maybe 4-5 turns) or if you put any kind of physical/magic shields.

I really wish that we could’ve recruited Demi Fiend and his Pixie waifu. It would’ve made the final fight with Lucifer a bit more interesting. If they buffed Lucy or nerfed Demi of course.

My run was basically the Enel early strat, since I fought this guy back in December. Idun, Shiva, and Cleopatra. I did it on Normal Mode on my first playthrough, meaning I had no New Game + demons. I did have a magic build tho. My winning fight had me luck out with Cleo's charm, and Charmed Demifiend out of Mediarahan. Then it was just a matter of bringing it home. God what a freaking cool fight

I love how demi-fiend isn't even defeated, he's just like "Good workout bro, here take this pocket money and go buy something nice for yourself"

I managed to do this fight without the mediahran skip because I had no demons that could use the Accursed poison skill on normal difficulty. I honestly don't know how people managed to do this fight on hard let alone not nulling or resisting phys. It felt like I barely scraped by on my end even with those passives.

I did not seal the mediarahan in this fight but I managed to beat it somehow. That fight felt so long.

watched your smt 4 and 4a playthrough after my save file for smt 4 corrupted mid way through the game. I picked up smt 5 but havent really progressed very much since i only played it on release for 10 hours, i am unsure if i want to pick up smt 5 again or watch your playthrough since its hard for me to keep track and know what to do. i really enjoy your videos and look forward to binge watching your playthroughs!!

Interesting, however, consider Digital Devil Saga

Now that we have gotten to the King himself, I want to post a theory I have. I would love to hear your thoughts on it. We know that 18 years ago Tokyo was destroyed and then recreated by God's miracle. Well, 18 years before this game came out was when Nocturne was first released. Here we see the Demi-Fiend that completed the true demon route where the world was not recreated with a Reason. If we assume that Nocturne was a prequel to this, it would explain why Tokyo was needed to be recreated as it was turned into the area for that game. Next, we have Lucifer appearing in front of the army of Bethel saying he killed God, but I wonder about that. Thanks to the Condemnation demons were stripped of their knowledge in order to keep them from being able to challenge God. By this logic, Lucifer should not have been able to win. Heck, he shouldn't;t have been able to get to the throne assuming the key was already separated before the games started. (This is a plot hole I haven't figured out). Then I realized there is another Nahobino. The creation of the true demon Demi-Fiend seems like a way around the condemnation by instead having a human with knowledge get the power and body of a demon. This could be seen as a lucky break for Lucifer that it worked so well for him... or was it more than that. In this game, we have seen that demons are able to determine if a human has knowledge. Odin and Zeus were having their subordinates look for the ones with their knowledge. In particular, they know where their own knowledge is. I wonder could the Demi-Fiend have held Lucifer's knowledge? It would explain why he gave him the body of a demon in Nocture. He would know he was capable of if he turned him into a demon. To help prove the point in the second phase of the true Lucifer fight, he used all the physical moves that the Demi-Fiends has at the same levels. The only difference is how much damage is done and that Geae Rage doesn't pierce. Still with me? Good, because there is more to go over. Again Lucifer said he killed God with his own hands. Now Lucifer is the kind of person that says the truth, but not the full truth. It could be interoperated in several ways. He could have done the finishing blow to God. He may have considered the Demi-Fiend as his right hand when he became a general in the war against Bethel at the end of Nocturne (stretching the truth). Or he could seethe former human who has his knowledge to be a part of him. If he killed god it would also mean that part of him killed God. Having Demi-Fiend kill god would explain how it was possible to do it without ack up that would spread details about the attack or how to get to the throne without the key. Now regarding the other fiends. We had the White Rider who stated they came from another world and Mother Harlot recalled the battle with the Demi-Fiend so what is up with that? Regarding Mother Harlot, we have seen that demons who have been "killed" can be fused and they recall their deaths. We see this with Odin talking to the valkyries and Zeus talking to Artemis after the battle if you have him in the party. The Rider is harder to disprove. The very limited knowledge I have about Shin Megami Tensei 4 has shown that fiends exist in other worlds and you can fight the Demi-Fiend that called to Lucifer's final fight in Nocturne. So we know it is possible that the fiends can likely be moved to a different world, but there is nothing that shows that the Demi-Fiend is from a different world. I think that most of what I noticed and thought about. Please tell me what you think.

I finally beat him on hard and my goodness he’s hard(not as bad as DDS). Amon was the demon that I needed. Nahobino in the fourth slot is in my opinion better in than him in the third slot. With these demons you don’t even have to scavenge as many incenses(My Idun has less than 90 vitality). Thanks Jimbo Amazing!

I reccently played Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door to revists some classics and it was worth it. I also plan to play Kingdom Hearts before Persona 5 royal. I plan to play the latter on its release date since it will be two years since it been released.
