Interesting parallel, but the MC and Yoko can be a similar parallel to Adam and Eve. Eve Convinced Adam to eat the fruit of knowledge with her and Yoko convinced the MC to rebirth the world anew. Hell the end credits the both of them are sitting under a tree with a snake observing like a new world Adam and Eve.
This ending would make a lot more sense in a setting like SMT IV, where the entire world's population are either inhabitants of a lightless underground hellhole or medieval citizens of Mikado possessing a "demonic gene" that'd make them turn into malevolent demons under the wrong circumstances. I could generally see the appeal in just returning everything to primordial chaos (as opposed to literal nothing a la the White) to let the world, humanity, and demonkind start anew, without any Creator God to ruin things. As things are here, though, it's not really clear why Yoko's desire for freedom from the system (after you've already freed her and Tao has shown her the better parts of humanity) goes so far as to want to revert the world to chaos, despite the fact that the world is pretty normal by our standards and not really irreversibly fucked up, or why she's so insistent that starting from scratch would get us anywhere better, since, again, the world overall isn't even all that screwed up. It's a very SMT-esque ending but it really just feels like it's in the wrong game. (Beating up Mastema is reason enough to go for it, though.) EDIT: Having thought on it a bit more, the ending makes a bit more sense if you take into account Yoko's statement that the only reason hierarchy exists is because of humans following the Horned God/Marduk's example, thus making her solution a bit more viable for creating a free world (reverting the world to a state pre-Marduk and thus pre-hierarchy), though this still doesn't really address the doubts Yoko mentions having prior to your final battle with her. It does become a bit more interesting with this in mind, though; Yoko's pessimistic view on humanity's current state leads into an idealistic belief that, if we start over again, things can be better. It also bears mentioning that dialogue was cut from Tao's ending which stated that a world where everybody's wishes granted would caused some amount of turmoil and conflict due to people wanting contradictory things, which can still be inferred on your own but isn't really discussed in-universe; at most, we get Yoko's perspective that humanity will never be happy under a ruler.
@@armandostockvideos8386The other one is Law. Law got a W, but if you expect it to have anything to do with God and Angels, that's not it. Tao makes a perfect utopia where Nahobino becomes God and he guides people while also fullfilling the wishes of everyone that ask him like a genie.
@@Zerorenren4761Still a law W. The original games law were all about creating utopias through authority and the evil god stuff was a twist. Then due to bad writing law being insane overtook the franchise. Law creating a utopia from your guidance is technically the same thing that happened in SMT2 law after you kill god for being an inadequate ruler.
So im just going to throw this out here but I kind of find it funny that in this route Lucifer is suprised by the Nahobinos actions of utterly destroying the whole universe and it was not his intention for the Nahobino to disrupt the death and rebirth cycle. cause I was under the impression that SMT V Lucifer is the same Lucifer from SMT 3 True demon ending (one that was successful in killing god with the demi-fiend after they disrupted the death and rebirth of their universe) is he not?
@@duyanhbui5386He allows the Happy Law Ending in Redux, even though it supposedly goes against what their god would want. He's actually a lot more chill than the memes would have you think
@@KittyKatty999 and don't forget that Mastema was also the person who sent Flynn into the past to defeat the 4 archangels and seal them away 😂 He's a cool person even though he's very manipulative, as long as you don't get in the way of his personal goals
Bruh that mastema a.i is unbearable!! His OP innate skill is getting balanced by his dumb A.I, like why not just use your Almighty attack or you unique skills. At least they going all out with his unique skills animation
In law ending everyone is happy and you become God. In Chaos ending you delete everything including your gf to start a new world of endless freedom for everyone.
@@Zerorenren4761 Lmao Definitely not endless freedom Just the possibility for a new world that isn't the old one. And even that is just for a possibility
This is basically Macross love triangle storyline were you have an option to choose Law route Tao, and more fun Chaos route Yoko. At 3:01 Tao's face is really funny with that jealous, and irritated mix reaction at Yoko's return. 1:54:57 - Symbolism aside we can guess what they want to do next. PS.1:54:30 - It looks like Drake Samael survived the trip to the new world, and you guys won't understand what it means, if you didn't finish up a certain side quest that explains a lot about Qadistu (you also need to talk to him in Demon Haunts).
@@RicochetForceThere's a theory of a secret ending, like Create a World without Demon in the Canon of Creation routes, as someone did find an extra OST that wasn't present in these 2 endings However we don't know for sure
@@centurionzo1228 There's only two trophies/achievements for vengeance ending. I doubt they'd be brave enough to make a secret ending that isn't tied to trophy/achievement system.
Ah, the symbolism and the irony of 2 humans (male ad female) with a Tree with Fruit, and a snake in it- isn't lost on me with this. XD you sure you guys got what you wanted? I know a book that started just like this-...
Ok, I think I get it now! The main body seems to be very tough. But every time she revives one of the heads, she loses health. So, obviously, the fastest way to defeat Tiamat is to kill the Dragon, Goat and Camel heads as quickly as possible.
So.. out of 6 possible endings now (maybe more), which one is the best outcome? I see that they are the outcome that make you god, return everything to what it should be or even set zero to everything. While original route has pro/con in all 4 endings, vengeance route seems like EXTREME route. Either rule everything or destroy everything.
I can't believe how big the gap between Law and Chaos is when they come to treating their route's bosses. You fight the ABYSS in Law, and in Chaos...you get saddled with...Mastema...wow. Talk about unfair treatment.
If there was another choice other than chaos and law, I would want it to be entirely different. Freedom without the need to destroy and cause chaos. That way, a new and better world can be made with both women by your side and for there to be no need for a ruler.
This is just my opinion, to be honest I'm a bit disappointed because I think Yoko goes for LAW or Neutral or Secret Ending. Because Yoko has those characteristics.Sigh, I hope atlus gives an ending where Yoko and Tao are together instead of contradicting each other, because Yoko has a reason for this Chaos that doesn't make sense for peace.
@@mrex666productions7There's a lot of dialogue and side-quests in the game, by doing them you get Law or Chaos points It should be fairly easy to see what Law and Chaos decisions are
choose the second option in most of the alignment questions that pops up. The one that gives huge chunk of points are the ones in the cutscenes and additional points in sidequest questions. If you want Law aligned, choose the nerdy answers, if you want Chaos aligned choose the answers with negative tones.
Except that there is no "evil" and the world isnt just being destroyed, they basically reset to the state it was before marduk killed tiamat, took the throne and sarted the cycle of oppressor and oppressed and influencing humans to do the same..
@@FadliAthallah_No. In the Chinese version her given name use "Ocean" instead of "Sun" for rendering "Yō". Consider this choice approved by the Japanese dev.
She not right either she forgets that a free universe means anyone can do to anyone whatever they want the weak basically will live in hell while the strong get everything Yoko obviously didn’t consider that
LMFAO you don't get that chaos ending is good ending because your ending ruler cycle Mandela of replacement meaning no one can usurp the throne and rule only yoko and nahobino will rule new world like Adam and Eve and there belief is a new place where this no suffering or oppression so everyone equal as gods no one is stronger upset those two unless they made their power equal@@GnosisZX
@@RealLifeIronMantaking throne always rewrites the world this chaos ending your still rewriting the world your just not ruling over it as a the creator your stepping down
Arguments aside, They def just thought of the law ending and didnt bother giving Chaos anything different and thought of it last minute of how it could fit in the same template, tiamat being controlled by Mastema makes no sense, at least give some agency to Tao have her and Mastema become a Nahobino, will it make sense probs not, but it also didn't with Abdiel and dazai so who cares
It’s not really that bizarre. It’s just taking the whole destroy the world and recreate it through the Throne but to a more extreme version. Shiva already had a similar goal in V where he planned to use Pasupata to destroy the universe and let it be born anew.
@BlackfangDragon the problem I have with it, it seems tacted on and remixed from the law ending like make a proper another series of events and taos ending is a lot more emotionally relevant to the plot, Yoko's ending just seemed like they didnt know what to do for the end scene also 57:47 the weird angling of Mastema's face, they clearly made the law ending and then swapped the models for some of the scenes not taking account of how it will look with Mastemas model
@@namanjotsinghns Oh yeah that part I agree with for the most part. I definitely felt Mastema always had a trump card to use on Tiamat because he was never afraid of her himself(he’s outright smiling when she’s revived and wrecking stuff). But his own boss fight is underhwhelming, and Goko and Tao as the next bosses would at least explain why he was underwhelming.
@@Railanor-rk4yh God specifically gave Mastema permission to keep and control 1/10th of the Watchers but there's nothing suggesting he gave Mastema carte blanche control over every single demon in existence, nor it is suggested in SMT that this ability (should he even have it) would somehow extend to a primordial goddess from another faith entirely who predates the both of them. The entire story makes zero sense if Mastema were just capable of seizing control over any and all demons, especially if the power was only given to him by God (whose own miracles are rapidly fading from existence, eg. the Shekinah Glory).
I mean, both endings are good and bad. A world where everyone lives but all dreams and wishes come true without reservation is bound to become problematic in due time. Sure it might be an utopia and that seems all good and all as seen in the ending but what about dangerous wishes or problematic dreams. If all comes true then yeeesh, at some point everything is going to go bad. Chaos ending is good and bad as well. Remaking everything by destroying everything gives the world a better chance of starting over uncorrupted but without divine intervention or protection, there is no law. We know there are demons that are kind but they are few and far in between. The big majority only care for themselves and use humans as food or walking batteries. Unless SMTV humans can stand on the same level as the demons in power, humans are bound to be dominated if their words ever clash. Sure it gives a chance of a fresh, brand new beginning so the world that comes from primordial chaos can make the rules as it goes and fend for itself but still, that uncertainty is problematic. I wish Vengeance had a Neutral route as I feel both endings are quite extreme, more than the originals in the Canon of Creation. Sure they may be flawed but a world where demons and humans become together is not as bad when everyone is a nahobino and could fend for themselves. A world where the order of god still remains intact is exactly what happened with every cycle. Sure Tokyo would be lost but the world would continue as it is and it was never stated that Earth had suffered from chaos. And the neutral endings are the best. Sure they can get quite extreme but a world perfectly divided or a world where there are no demons at all, secures humanity future. It's a good game, better than expected but I feel like there should be a neutral ending for Vengeance where there is reconciliation between the horned god and the serpent goddess so the world is created anew with both perspectives in place or a world where both sides can get into a happy agreement with the best of both sides going forward while leaving behind all what caused this mess on the first place. At least we can agree that Lucifer is the MVP. No matter the choice, at the end of the road, he is willing to test us and sacrifice so the path we choose is free from the mandala and therefore the cycle is never repeated again.
And how exactly is a 'destroy and recreate the world' ending bad? Honestly, as far as I can tell, neither ending is really good or bad. It's all a matter of whether you believe the old world can still be improved or if it's best to just end it all and start over from scratch. Not unlike the 'Bonds' and 'Anarchy' endings from Apocalypse.
Man, this actually sucks LOL I've always wanted Law to be the favored route in a SMT game since it is mostly the evil ending but that's not how it should be, they pulled SMT IV APOCALYPSE all over again in the worst way possible While Tao's ending creates an Utopia without flaws(Tao says that Nahobino/God will guide the people of the new world) and everyone lives a fairy tale life where everything can be solved with asking God to give you everything you want Yoko's ending gets a lame final boss and is straight up a worse outcome, as if the devs were literally telling you that you choose the wrong route because you decided to simp over Yoko SMT always had awful biases towards certain routes and made all except one a valid choice 1 was neutral biased, 2 is actually fine, 3 had TDE, IV had Neutral and OG V was ACTUALLY very nuanced, the only issue was that the story sucked and the endings sucked in presentation, True Neutral had conditions to get it that contradicted the requirements to get it but the idea wasn't 100% good, since getting rid of all demons would mean also getting rid of the fairies and Aogami for example that were good and wanted to help mankind Now Vengeance does the exact opposite and just tells you "Law is the good ending" and to make it worse with the most cookie cutter ending possible The writers for this game are the same of Apocalypse so that doesn't surprise me, but i think that maybe what made them take this direction was the complaints about True Neutral (still, i have no idea of why they thought that just making Law overwhelmingly good like that was the best idea).
law ending here is very apt for japan. sure you get everything you want. utopia but youre completely dependant on the fickle hands of a supposed benevolent god. which as usually smt goes that god will just become another JHVH. chaos here sure is just, yeet EVERYTHING but even through that you have your own will, your choice to make something out of that nothing for yourself. japans always been kinda deicide route
So basically new Law is damage control cause Atlus heard too many people complain about bad law endings lol. Now that I think about it every atlus game update changes the ending think about it. Nocturne maniax added tde whcuh messed with the original game, 4 had 4a nuff said, and SJR nullified the endings of base SJ and now vengeance did the same thing for V
Personal Thoughts: 1. Is the final scene a tribute to The Garden of Eden ? 2. I would say the Law Ending in CoV is more Animesque, while the Chaos Ending is more of “Make the World Anew”.I would personally compare the tone of these two endings with the ones in ⅣF(ⅣA),one is more Anime-style good ending while the other is more unorthodox and truly creating a new world. 3. On a side note,my favorite ending in CoC would be the one that create a world for the various pantheons to rule. I think that ending could serve as a gift to all those demons that helped players go so far.
They are literally Adam and Eve (lilith's will) in this ending so yeah it's definitely doing some references to the garden of eden and the tree of knowledge.
