And there are just a few of those enemies around. It puzzles me how they decided to give a chance of getting an unlimited, instant-death game-breaker midway through the game, even considering the ultra-low drop ratios...
@@EmoonX I kind of love that about the older games! Like…yeah, maybe, just maybe you WILL get some incredible item at total random from a rare enemy! Probably not, but who knows. Something you could never dream of farming for intentionally.
@@TimBitten Yep, and then being able boast the unique item among friends (and them thinking it was somehow cheated into the game instead, lol). That's one thing I like about the Shining series: devs had no issues in being creative and doing things in a different way from most RPGs :)
Those items take reaching levels way above 50th before they become available on deals in the shops. Since you can probably beat Dark Sol with all the party a little less than 50th, I'm surprised the bother has been gone to necessary to show these.
If it's worth your trouble, just work those three characters up to levels like 57, 64, and 72, then keep re-checking the "Deals" display at the alchemist shop.
No. Those instant kill boxes don't. However, the "Forbidden Box" does work on him and can have interesting results. One time I got it so that it increased Dark Sol' s power. Each time.. he colors became whiter and whiter. It took a while but I got him to upgrade 4 times. But by then... it was suicide...lol. His tail would do 1400-1600 damage to me. Even at level 99 for all....he wasted my whole party.
