Whew guys… what to even say about this one. One of the most tedious hunts I have ever done. Delibird truly put me to the test, going over 3x more total RE’s than I ever have gone for a single target before. However totally worth it in the end! So happy to have this one checked off my list, looking forward to the next multi system hunt!

You and sonikks is the reason why I enjoy shiny hunting in 3rd gen. There is something special about shiny hunting in 3rd gen compared to other generations and that is what makes it so much fun. Congrats and hoping you get some good luck in future hunts.

As someone who has done a few 5% hunts in the 100k encounters, the euphoria of the hunt is still present a long time later. These hunts are probably the most amazing hunts ive ever done. It's so amazing. Huge congrats on the shiny.

Any tips for shiny hunting and not going insane? I was going for a Silph Co Shiny Lapras and after about 2000 Resets I decided to continue in the game although I do plan to go back. Any tips or strategies to go about soft resetting encounters

How many systems are you hunting on? If it's just one or two then things are going to feel slow-ish - patience is key with full odds hunts and like a muscle you have to train it. Most shiny hunters pass the time by watching stuff on tv (or the internet), listening to music or being in group chats with other hunters. Don't give up - I promise you that the endorphins you're going to feel once you see the purple dino on your screen is going to make all that waiting worth it!

^well said! I have to admit, SR hunts feel like more of a grind for me than random encountering, but keep yourself distracted (watch a tv show or movie) and embrace the grind! Best of luck

Your videos are awesome dude 👌🏼 my fav Pokémon RU-vidr, especially for shiny hunts. I will get my DTQ one day. I want to get Lapras, Charizard, Venusaur, Blastoise, Dragonite and I think I'm gonna do Espeon, Umbreon or Hitmonchan 🔥 keep up the great work. Currently I am just hunting on one device

congratz on the shiny Delibirb. Hasty is a pretty good nature for a hustle ability. Such a shame that evolving the Japanese pokemon in a non-Japanese game have their names treated like Nicknames. Now your Dewgong is called Seel in Japanese and Piloswine has the Japanese name of Swinub.

I'm quite late to comment on this, but I wanted to say that this was a great showcase of perseverance and determination. Enduring all those green bats (pure hell) and a few seels and porcupines to finally find and capture (almost failing it) the lost purple penguin :) I loved when you said that you wouldn't have any other way because you're right, this makes the outcome so much satisfiable and memorable. No matter what the others say, we secretly like to thrive in these long hunts so we can chase for this moments :) Congrats on this incredible achievement and hope that luck has been on your side for a while now ;)

I think when I choose to hunt delibird myself, It was because of the unique location. Icefall cave is a dope spot especially for all those wonderful green bats! What an amazing amount of determination going through 36 phases for the delibird. It’s so amazing how you document your hunts, and I love it! I always love watching your videos while hunting for my own shinies. I currently ended up giving up on a Snubbull and an Articuno Hunt, but I will be reclaiming these Pokémon a lot later. Currently hatching for Larvesta.

Massive congrats! I recently hunted a shroomish in petalburg woods and was getting tired after 4 phases, I can't even fathom going this long on a shiny! Though I suppose after that many encounters delibird is feeling a whole lot like the "present" pokemon that it is!

So, Delibird missing 4 Presents in a row was a 0,10^4 chance to happen, aka 0,01%. You know what else is roughly 0,01% ? A 1/8192 shiny Pokémon. If I did my math wrong, please correct me. High school math was a long time ago...

Thank you so much for your comment! So without pulling out my calculator, make sure you take into considering hustle (Delibird’s ability). It drops accuracy for power, not sure by what factor, so I don’t think it’s quite as rare as a shiny. But thank you so much tho!

Hustle decreases average accuracy to 80% I think, so instead of having a 10% chance of missing, it would have a 28% chance of missing. That's 0.28^4 which is roughly 0.006 or 0.6%, not 1 in 10,000, but still a pretty rare chance!
