For this achievement you must beat brightness level 15 with any boat.
If done in multiplayer both host & client get the achievement.
I know it looks like a lot at first glance, but you WILL develop a routine & preferred weapons & items that work best for you.
As you advance each level in brightness it does become more difficult, but you also unlock items & features to make it easier as well, like the Mysterious bottles that unlock after level 4, or the NPC Barnaby to sell you 1 random item before each voyage that unlocks after level 7, the slot machine that lets you re roll items in stores that unlocks after level 10, and the extra abilities that golden cannons get after beating level 10.
If playing with another player communication & having a plan are the keys. Have a plan for who is covering what areas or what tasks on the ship & call out any changes to those plans mid run as circumstances require.
You can do it! You just need a half decent run with some luck & they won't stand a chance against you.
As for my weapon I REALLY prefer one with some kind of spread, (mainly to fight the frozen boss birds) I REALLY believe the "Frozen Wave" is the best or adding some kind of ice ability to your paddle or your projectiles as the freeze ability will let you stun lock several bosses and enemies. (as I did with the crab boss & the frozen birds.)
There are SEVERAL trinkets to watch out for that can be SUPER useful (and Trinket combos), like...
the "Big Bullet" that guarantees a critical hit on the last shot of the magazine, ESPECIALLY when combined with the "Warrior Statue" that reloads all cannons on a critical hit. (just make sure you actually hit something with that last shot)
The "Telescopic Handle" that increases your paddle range by 60 percent (even more so when duplicated) can let you reach the majority of the boat and creatures away from the boat you normally couldn't reach, (even more so when you add ice or oil to the paddle, or the fan trinket that adds a projectile to the paddle) The "Baseball Bass" and "Metal Plating" can sometimes push the paddle damage higher than a cannon
the "Frozen Wave" "Corn on the Cob" & "Anchor" (maybe the "Boiling Pot" too) ammo types seemed to serve us best, with AS MANY damage boosts as we could manage on top of them.
