SHIPT Shopper First Day- How much SHIPT Shoppers Make

Are you guys making good money on shipt? When I log on I just see 7 dollar orders give or take a few. I don’t see how I can make money that way.

I have tried IC for over a year and Shipt I prefer Shipt shoppers

I agree with what Nadean posted. I do IC and Shipt. I day same day I had the same customer on both apps. His personality was actually different per the app. My shopping style did not change. I communicate the same way on both apps. I found that interesting.

@@Chichi-mo2pc you have to put yourself on the schedule. A lot of the orders you see in Metro are what we call "garbage orders" or "garbage customers".

Do you do this full time? Can you support yourself on what they pay?

@@SC-gp7kt absolutely. I can make $200 to $500 a day, if I work 8 to 10 hours (orders).

@@beccabell1850 don’t exaggerate what you make it’s so sad I’ve been hustling on multiple apps and I’ll give it to you straight if you’re lucky you’ll run into $50 tips but that very very rare it’s more like $2-$10 if at all and there are those customers that think they are doing you a favor after the gas and maintenance on your car and thanks to this garbage president and the democrat plantation we make even less now I’d say your average pay will be between $10-15 per hour sometimes more and sometimes less . If you run into a problem that happens often you will make $10 an hour like not being able to contact support to cancel an order because the items are out of stock thanks again to the democrat plantation remember this always shop in wealthy neighborhoods even if you have to travel to get there and except additional orders unlike what Jen did in this video that way your double your money it is frustrating to hear people exaggerate their pay it brings a lot of people to the app which results in us making less thanks for your time

@@michaelobryan44 my JOB and success has NOTHING to do with politics. Maybe you get shit money bc of your attitude? Shipt and any other delivery services are self contract. You get out of it what you put in. At no point during my shopping does personal beliefs, politics come into play. It is deplorable that you felt the need to comment (your own sad agenda). 😔. As a shipt customer, I like that I can label a shopper as my preferred shopper. I’ve been doing this for almost 2 years and I’ve mostly had good experiences. I think I only rated 1 shopper at a 4/5, in the entire 2 years, when I place orders between 1-2 times a week. And that was because it just wasn’t a good experience. I felt bad but it needed to happen. Anyway, I’m always happy to see that my preferred shopper selects my order about 75% of the time. He’s the only one I picked to be my preferred shopper because by now, he knows my wants/needs and barely has to ask. I always tip in the app, but around Thanksgiving and Christmas I’ve left him an envelope with cash, totaling around $50 each time, with a Christmas card. I do want to make sure my tips are fair. I do have a lot of repeat shoppers select my orders so i’m not sure if they keep track of who tips well and who doesn’t tip, but it’s usually between 4 people. Please let me know what an acceptable tip would be if you were to accept these orders. But first, I will give some background info: -My orders range in price from $75-$150 and I will place 1-2 orders a week. -I live about 2 miles from the store -From the time someone starts shopping my order, to the time they drop it off, it will take anywhere between 30-60 min max. -My order might state that there is 30 items, but a lot of the time, I will buy 2-3 of each items so they are really only having to go down 3-5 aisles. -To show cost of living/wages around where I live, I’m an RN, for almost 4 years now, who works 12 hour night shifts and makes $30/hr w/ PRN status…the $30/hr includes the nightshift differential. I plan to list my last 3 orders, labeled as A, B, C…as a shopper, I’d appreciate if you could respond to my comment, and after reading the background info I gave, and details for each order, please tell me what you’d consider a bare minimum tip that would be acceptable, that you could live with, and what you’d consider above average. One last thing, I’m curious how you’d calculate what you think your tip should be. Is it the total dollar amount of the order, the amount of items in the order or the amount of time you put into shopping my order? My last 3 orders…please let me know a bare minimum tip you’d be ok with, and then what you’d consider above average: A. Total was $115.90 w/ tax. 21 item. I mainly got a few juices, a good amount of dairy, some produce and some snacks. By the time he started shopping to the time he dropped them off, it took 30 minutes. B. Total of order 152.51. Number of items 22. Time from start of order to dropping off at my door 45 minutes. C. Total of order $116.75. Number of items in order 18. Time it took from start of shopping my order to drop off 30 minutes. I’d appreciate if any shoppers could respond. Please keep in mind the background info I gave you. I’ll let you all know what I tipped after some people respond. :)

@@yoursurgerysister..my daughter makes waaay better money with Shipt than she ever did with Doordash. She has never done IC though. I don't know how much people make doing that.

@@sherrystrawn7628 my sister and niece do doordash and make about $4000 a month. I cant even begin to come close to that. $2500-$3000 max. Dont waste your time. Allot of wear and tear on the car

I’ve just gotten approved for Shipt, I started out doing Instacart, and honestly the pay started to become demeaning. I’m waiting for my Shipt package now. I hope it’s still a good gig despite this being 4 months later.

I am new with Shipt. I just started today. I did a large order with approximately 90 items and multiple out of stocks needing substitutions. I spent a long time with this order. It did take longer than expected due to me being new. What does not make sense to me is that this order that cost well over $300 and they did not pretip. I’m wondering if they will even go back and put a tip in. Who thinks this is taking advantage of Shipt Shoppers?

Where do u go and how do you get orders? I sit there for hours with my shipt open and I get nothing ): is it because I’ve only done a few deliveries? Or maybe because I’m not in a high order area ? How populated is the area you usually work in?

I think it's the opposite. I didn't know how bad shipt was until I started IC.

Is it the base pay or the customer tips that help you make more?

I didn’t have to do that at all, I signed up for Shipt in September. Took about 4 weeks to get accepted during application process, but I never had to record myself.

I recorded myself while laying in bed after just waking up in a dark room and it was fine haha just received my card and start tomorrow!

Yep!! That’s what I do! I start early, and majority of the orders do say it’s okay to drop off early 😄

If it doesn't say drop off early okay, and you started shopping early without sending them a text to say that you started before the time, do you have to send them a text saying that you're on your way if you plan on dropping it off at 10:03?

I did a party city delivery only order once and got tipped immediately after swiping delivered. This only happened once but I met another shopper who was delivering orders from best buy and she told these customers tend not to tip as they tend to think we are best buy employees and not shipt shoppers so that might clarify a little.

This is true! Sometimes they appreciate you offering an earlier delivery because an earlier delivery time wasn't available when they placed their order.

Update: I'm halfway into my first week of shopping for Shipt. Less than half the customers tip here in Tucson AZ so I'm thinking its a regional thing. I do like the platform so far but am hesitant to take order unless they are close to me. Thus far, its not cost effective to orders outside my area as I'm averaging $6.50 per order (without tips)

I can't help but point out that tips used to be given AFTER a customer received excellent service. When did this policy change?

@@jeffw1267To insure proper service… tips. It’s essential now to tip before hand on these 3rd party apps since your order goes out to bid. If the offer is to low then it’s not worth doing. Especially Grubhub, Uber eats, and door dash.
