From my 5 minutes research, apparently he contributed articles for The Epoch Times (not sure if he's still with the team) from November 2018 until July 2022, so that's that. I would say that he's real in this case. Addendum edit: the bio also said that he stayed in China for almost 7 years and fluent in Mandarin Chinese, which explains the way he pronounced Chinese words in every video that he narrated and anchored so far.
