I'm from a latin american country and the state of public mental health facilities here is similar to this one, patients are abused in different ways and is still something the government keeps ignoring, it's heartbraking to see

This is why I love this channel ❤ You shine a light on stories I've never heard of and make it creepy, yet fascinating to watch. I had NO idea mental health was THAT bad in Peru. You often hear about the mental health crisis in Japan or South Korea, but the numbers coming out of Peru absolutely terrify me.

My dad has schizophrenia, thankfully he's following a special treatment but back when it started he used to have psychotic outbursts and one morning i remember him opening my bedroom's door and entering quietly, holding a butter knife and repetitively saying "i have to kill you, i have to rid you of your suffering, you and your mother and sister". Schizophrenia is a really serious matter, and even if Consuelo did what she did, i do not think the blame falls on her, she needs serious help instead

Your videos are so dark yet so real. When I’m feeling down, I watch one of your videos to ground myself and I look at the world with a better lens. A lens that shows me that I have a lot more than I think I do. That I should helps others as much as I can, because the rest of world is suffering. Keep it up! I watched all of your videos and I drop everything I’m doing to see your newest one every time. Humanity has to see how cruel itself really is.

I never thought I'd see a video about Peru! 🙌It's upsetting that mental health wasn't a big priority in the past but I'm glad it's finally getting more and more attention through the years. It'd be interesting to see more videos covering the civil war/guerrilla groups. My grandpa on my dad's side was unfortunately a victim of the Shining Path before I was born, they never found his body.

I felt bad for everyone. Especially the sister, you could tell that she really loves her brothers but cannot put her life in jeopardy again. Another thing is- I didn’t expect that last part about the mental health care institute. But as soon as I heard it, it kinda brought me flashbacks. I might’ve heard this years back about this. I do remember it was a facility like this and there was allegations but I can’t say if it was this one. Point is, unfortunately there’s a lot of places like these that further abuse the patients. And the ones that are genuinely good, people are too scared to get help because of these scandals. Like always another good video. I got so excited when I woke up and saw the notification :)

As someone who's lived in the US and Mexico, the mental health services are not even close. Not to say it's great here but in Latin America, the negligent services are bordedline criminal. Not to mention, the stigma is WAY worse as you're cast as a "loco" or something like that. And good luck getting your medicine. You're almost better off not going to the doctor. *Almost.*

Before she even said she was raped I already could tell she was it’s sad the main reason ppl end up like this is due to horrific trauma and ptsd which does not excuse what she did to those poor babies but I just wonder if she ever had anyone around to help her or if she was all alone? If she would have been mentally evaluated before releasing her from the hospital after she gave birth maybe this could have been avoided.
