It’s a bloody annoying loop to be stuck in, you need to show traction to get an investor on board, but you need the money to gain the traction… This is the true story of entrepreneurship, not the glitzy success of an exciting idea.

It looks like they are trying to grow the business. They took on two employees, having had zero before, and bought a lot of stock. That appears to have been mostly financed by debt (and a small investment) so having got to a reasonable financial position a couple of years ago they are now highly leveraged again. Its my opinion but I feel like she explained that she was going to minimise the debt in the next year through increased sales which she had product for and they didn't listen to that. It wasn't a great position to be in but if there's longevity in it being a good product it could be resolved. I feel like they kind of jumped on the debt bandwagon a bit. It is a good product and while I'm not a parent I could envisage a lot of people using it.

Sixteen percent interest on over 100k of debt is not an inconsiderable matter. How is she even going to buy the next round of products if all her revenue goes straight to the debt?

No it's a case of a product for an imaginary problem, most people want to wear their own clothes I think - carrying a baby is a pain enough without having to change my wardrobe to avoid the "hassle" of removing a baby.
