It's bullshit that as soon as people move into a house that doesn't belong to them are not immediately removed by police and treated like burglars!!! Arrested and taken to jail????
This is happening right now to a 70 year old friend of mine with cancer. These squatters are con artists that looked up info on the real homeowner, texted him so it looked like communication between squatter & owner. My friend does not text, but the Sheriff aborted the "warrant to remove " as to not intrude upon the squatters rights.This country has gone to hell in a hand basket when criminals have all the rights.

How scary and ridiculous is it to think that when you and your family come back from vacation finding some strangers occupying your house and changing the locks? You called the police. The guy shows the police a fake rental lease. Then, the police won’t do anything except telling you to go to court filing eviction, which will take months. Now, you and your family are homeless with only a wallet with you. All your family’s stuff, clothes, laptops, car keys, and some cash... are inside the house.
I have said this exact same thing on other threads regarding the squatter issue. It's bad enough if it's an empty house such as an elderly parent passing and you have inherited the home and now you're tying to sell it, but i have heard stories where people have gone on vacation to come back to trespassers in their home....and you can't get rid of them right away?!!....It's unbelievable! Imagine having to look for accommodations plus all of your personal items are in the house and you can't get to them?!!! Not to mention your personal papers, etc.!! This is beyond crazy! This country is circling the drain in a never ending episode of the Twilight Zone.
Good video, really clears things up. The definition of 'squatters' being actually trespassers, very helpful. Also the 'NO TRESPASSING ' signs, helpful. Florida new law to help police remove TRESPASSERS to be implemented nationwide would really help.
An army of police officers go to the wealthy neighborhoods, while the middle class has to go to court to get squatters out.....or get arrested..........
Florida recently passed a law regarding squatting. Law enforcement officials now can immediately remove squatters from the property. If they are unable to provide proper documentation. This should be done in every state, squatters are allowed to stay in the property for way too long. Meanwhile property owners must pay mortgage payments, insurance premiums and property taxes. Can’t get property back unless it’s a long expensive legal battle. Homeowners have no rights regarding their property rights
You forgot to mention that once you finally do get the squatters out of the house they have probably destroyed it with tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage if not more! ...and of course you are still supposed to pay the mortgage, property taxes and you can't shut the utilities all while they are living in your home.

I have a solution. My friend's house was taken over my squatters. So what I did I picked up around a dozen big snakes. Went into house when they were not hone and put them in house. They left the next day. All of you should try it .try and get rattlers.
And another advice, contact city hall tell them you are shutting water and sewer service and tell them that you are going out of town and or moving to new house but you are not renting your property, and do not activate water and sewer unless you confirm with property owner are you renting your house ro that person? When the owner says NO! Call the police. Make sure tou tell the utilities company the same thing.
Hey Kevin! The whole squatter thing is very sucky! And scary! They should have zero rights and fake leases should not be a thing. I believe most of these "squatters" are probably making a living off of it/blackmailing homeowners to vacate for $s. Florida recently passed new legislation that protects homeowners. Florida is looking attractive! Good luck getting anything like that here.

Maybe call up "hells angels" for a party in the yard and camping. Law can't do anything to evict scumbuckets. So take whatever methods to solve issues. Vigilante may be only solution. Amen
