Beautiful people and yes they are to be admired for having the strength to keep their culture and not assimilate into foreign ones. I'm also glad they are modern on their terms and FGM is decreasing. Intelligent people.

Ah - I read about the "women-only village" in Kenya about a year ago, but didn't not know it was a Samburu village. Very interesting! With so much violence against women in the tribal cultures, I really admire those women for simply refusing to participate in life with men! Very informative video, I subscribed!💖

All the nilotes pastorialists at once used to drink fresh blood from cow. We as dinka/jienge of South Sudan used to drink fresh raw blood, and we changed to cooking it before it is eaten.

I would like to know how the men spend their time being productive when they are not singing and dancing. From what I've gathered, the women raise and care for the children, prepare meals, make jewelry, fetch water and build the homes.
@Brian-bo4bz
@Brian-bo4bz 6 месяцев назад
The men take care of the wealth,Samburu are nomadic pastoralists and all their wealth is in cattle, if they fall sick they sell a cow to go to the hospital,if they want to take children to school they sell a cow and pay school fees, men's duty is taking care of the cattle/wealth which isn't an easy task in such an arid area, they walk for kilometers looking for pasture and water for the animals and have to defend the cattle against rival tribes who often carry out cattle raids to steal their cattle which is the only source of wealth, every young man is a warrior in this culture because they have to defend cattle by fighting and always walk around with knives on their waists, this narrative about oppressed women is dumb, in such primal living conditions division of labour for survival is done purely on strengths, men are more physically endowed thus do the dangerous jobs and women get the more safe jobs which involves the homestead,more men get killed in cattle raids, would you prefer they put women at risk of dying?

Stop looking at Samburu culture from a western lense, this is Africa not Europe mind your business

@Brian-bo4bz
@Brian-bo4bz 6 месяцев назад
@@Joyful_Smiles I know where the question is headed, she says apart from singing and dancing like that's all they do, women also sing and dance, those are recreational activities for special occasions they don't just wake up to sing and dance everyday, of course they have daily responsibilities. The narrator clearly said their wealth is in cattle, goats and camels and even mentioned the cattle raids, did she skip that part too and just heard and saw singing and dancing?in times of drought which happens quite often because they live on arid land these men go out hundreds of kilometers away from the homestead in search of water and pasture for the animals and even go into rival hostile territory, many warriors are armed with guns not just spears they just didn't show that and many lose their lives while herding, the women are safe in the homestead and at least get to live in the huts. If you ask those women if they would rather stay at home and look after kids and perform homestead duties or go out with the livestock and risk death from wild predators and armed rival tribes coming to raid them I'm sure they prefer the homestead duties.when men go out they sleep out in the open and have to watch out for wild animals like leopards and cheetahs which are many in Samburu territory and still keep an eye open for cattle raiders from other tribes,she is already implying the women do all the work and men just sing and dance that wasn't a question she was asking.

Africans would lose their cultural identity if the likes of Sumburi Zulu Swati and many African cultures are vanished. We can be educated and be scientifically sophisticated without being westernised. I love these people for what Africa is worth

The African people of Samburu kenya do not have wrinkles, pimples or blemishes in the their face or skin their is very clear. That's very unusual being around so much dirt how can they keep their skin so clear without any wrinkles and pimples.

That’s also true about animals in nature. Even a white swan in a lake in a big city is always clean and has white feathers. About this tribes they have a very nutritious food and have very healthy strong body.

MELANIN is the answer for not having wrinkles. The majority of African people age very well especially when we take care of ourselves. I’m sure they know how to clean too, despite their living environment.
