This video is so helpful. I had no pain other than persistent back pain that I thought was muscular, then intense stomach pain, fever and chills which went away in a few days. Went to the doctor when I started having a lot of blood in my urine the following week. Had a 5.5mm stuck in ureter, another 5.5mm in that kidney, a 7.5 mm in the other kidney, lots of smaller ones and a UTI. Dr installed a stent and put me on several antibiotics, plus several other meds including one to relax my ureter. Shockwave on one kidney and laser on the other scheduled in 3 weeks. It’s very uncomfortable and there’s still blood and small clots in my urine. Feel tired and sore all the time. Age 71.
W A R S T O N E D S dawa best hai..Miracle ki tarah kaam kiya mere liye... 16mm ki pathri nikaal di meri..meine seedha cmpany se mangwayi thi.. pehle ek pack amzn se mngwaya tha fir baki ka treatment cmpny se..
iam 69 year old have problems with urine for 1 month no pain in my kidney only problems with urine very slow flow one day pain and burning to pee finally no pee at all so i push and push and boom a 15mm stone by 12mm first time ever to have this experience . have to bring stone to my doctor wishme luck.
Hi. Yes they won't do the procedure with out giving you Levequin. The stent will allow the gravel to go down it instead of your ureter, which would be very painful. It doesn't cause the infection to spread. You feel the urgency to void. The urine won't go back up the stent. Anyway if you're on an antibiotic so the infection can't spread it's being killed. The doctor knows how and when to take a calculated risk. If you trust your doctor it will be much less stressful for you. Good luck.
This procedure caused kidney bleeding right after and serious bruising which hurt for weeks. Was dressed and just about to go home and intense pain started. Had to get wheeled back in and get another IV after a scan showed "a small bleed". When the IV dillaudid wore off I was right back writhing in agony so I had to stay overnight. The insane pain went away but when I went home I could barely breathe or walk (both caused stinging pain in the kidney) and had pain all over my lower back, ribs, kidney. Torridol worked a bit but made me feel very strange and caused heart palpitations each time a dose would kick in. Anyway, the pain diminished each day over 3 weeks. Was rough. If this happens again I'm refusing to leave the hospital for at least another day to stay on narcotics. Ultrasound 2 weeks out showed a "large hemotoma". Both the ultrasound tech and my Doc said this was a "1 in 100" thing.
@@valerielandis3911 Yeah it got better. I had the final stone removed in May 2021 and did the ureteroscopy which was not as bad but was still a rough week. I have a fragment from the last stone still there but I'd rather have mild pain than do any of the procedures. For most people a script for 30 Oxycocdone 5mg will be enough to get through the worst if combined with Ibuprophen. My new doc gives Tramadol which doesn't help. They don't seem to realize for several days after even the ureteroscopy there is some really bad pain at times. This last ureteroscopy was much more painful than the first 2.
ESWL vs RIRS. When is one preferred over the other? (I have a 7.3mm & a 4.4mm stone). The hospitals that I contacted, don't do any Anesthesia, not even local; which is no prob for me. But they said that pre-operation it's mandatoy to do a blood withdrawal and coagulation test. I don't understand why that is, since the procedure doesn't require cutting, nor anesthesia. Is the blood test really mandatory?
I have an very painfil 8mm stone and very bad UTI.I was just wondering shouldnt my UTI be treated before going through this procedure?I have read the some people with a bad UTI have had this done the infection fromthe uti was then spreaded up to the kidney while this procedure was done.I just want to make that what my doctor is saying wont harm me more. Thanks :)
The strainer to collect calculi after my lithotripsy is completely plugged from blood, blood clots and thick urine. Is this something to be concerned with? I’m going to try a coffee filter next because the strainer doesn’t work now. Do you have thoughts or suggestions? I have a stent in place and have for 3 weeks. The blood is very thick. Thank you for this informative video. Oh they were unable to determine if the procedure was successful today because of blood vessels according to my doctor. The stone they are trying to remove or break up in this case is a little over 6mm. It was sitting at the base of the ureter. Thank you again
@@zeemixvideos6485 yes , so i had a 9mm stone which is pretty big. Lithotripsy was harmless. I would do it again without a doubt. I didnt even feel anything recovery wise. The first day (same day as procedure)i peed blood. But next day and so forth normal. And peeing out the stones didnt hurt at all. I felt small fevers but i knew it was cus i must of been passing them. Nothing to worry bout ! Dont drink soda , drink lots of water. Lemon water. Kidney stones suck !
@@818guy6 hello. on 9th April 2022 I went through ESWL for single 13mm stone in my lower calyx in left kidney. the doctor prescribed me some medicines which I am taking since yesterday but now whenever I eat or drink anything I feel like I am going to vomit also I am feeling weak. also I have constant pain in my lower back and in stomach ( bearable like irregular bowel movement during watery stool ) radiating to the urinary bladder. also when I sneeze or by chance someone puts hand on left side back with a light pressure I feel sudden discomfort for that moment . also when I am sleeping side wise with left side on the top, then I am feeling pain in my left side back but not much when the left side is down and right side is up. Is this normal ? 😣
@@mdf345 13 mm is big ! I’d say those symptoms could be because of the shockwave lithotripsy . It could be the broken down stones moving their way down and trynna get out your system! Also after the procedure I felt like my back was sore too . Like if someone was punching my back . I’d call your doctor ! But I’d say it’s the stones moving down your tubes . I hate kidney stones , I haven’t gotten one in years . I used to get them every year . Idk what I Did . Maybe I started drinking more water . Hang in there . U will be okay
@@muhammadqayum3145 dear bro what are the complications of this procedure and succes rate kindly share with me i also have 18mm stone in my left kidney i am in a great trouble what can i do
@@shehriyarkhan3779 dear brother, the procedure is not too easy or painless, after proceedur about 48 hours a lot of pain, after 3 time proceedur my 24 mm stone broke up, out of which 15 mm still remains, now a heave pus comes in urine, for which I used continously anti biotics. pray for me, you should do something as soon as possible because when the stone became too large then open surgery is the last option & damage of kidney, Allah hum sub ko sehat de. Ameen.
Naomi W were you on antibiotics? How did everything work out? I'm currently experiencing my first UTI and I have an annoying stent in my urethra. IT hurts sooooo badly and I'm still peeing blood. SMH
