Of your collection here I have the AE "Park Ave" which as you say takes a nice shine with a horsehair brushing. For the plain toe oxfords, I have Florsheim's shell cordovan and a ruddy tan calf skin. I'm surprised you don't have a ruddy tan pair; the color was very popular in the 1970's-'80s, but I am noticing the color range coming back into style. Great video, appreciate the info.
When it is raining do you feel comfortable walking outside with regular leather soles? Or do you only use a shoe or boot that has a double water lock sole or rubber sole like dainite or a mix like a commander sole?
I wear the alden cap toes and punch cap toes most often, followed by the Allen edmonds strand. This is mostly due to their color and my personal style. I also appreciate the steel shank in the Alden’s. I try to keep the black Allen edmonds park ave for only more formal occasions.
