I felt your panic when I heard ‘discontinued’! 😮 Game changing shoe for me too. It hasn’t gotten enough love. Most of my local running stores aren’t carrying it because they said it didn’t sell well. I really feel like they didn’t understand this particular shoe.
@jenniferring6410, wow! This is the first I’ve heard anyone say that the shoe didn’t sell well, but this makes sense given that stores I expected to carry the model apparently aren’t doing so now. Considering how amazing the Tempus is, I wonder if its possible lower sales are a result of ineffective marketing. At any rate, thanks so much for providing additional insight into the Tempus sales issues. I so appreciate your comment and hope to see you in the comments again! Also, check out my video link in the comments about an upcoming giveaway. I’ll be announcing details in about a week. Thanks again for commenting!
@jenniferring6410, I would like to include your YT handle (name) and your comment in an upcoming video. Please let me know if including your YT handle is OK. If it’s not cool, I will mention your comment without your name.
@jeretso, I would like to include your YT handle (name) and comment in an upcoming video. Please let me know if mentioning your handle is OK. If it isn’t, I’ll just mention your comment without your name. Thanks!
Tempus 2 is out where I live. It has gained 1/2 ounce weight and lost and 3.5 mm stack height in the heel. It still 8mm drop. Not sure what these changes mean when you run in them. They look great though.
Wow. They are out! Makes me wonder why they were rumored to be discontinued. I also wonder what the changes will mean for speed. The presumption is that, somehow, these changes will help improve speed??? I sure hope so. Thanks so much for commenting! I really appreciate the information and you taking the time to let us know!
Yes, I’ve been hearing about the upper! Another commenter said it’s gained a 1/2 ounce and lost 3.5 mm heel stack height. Hopefully the changes will aid speedy efforts despite the fact the shoe supposedly weighs more. Thanks for commenting!
I’ve run down many pairs of Tempus. I love ‘em. My current pair has a little more life left. I plan on getting the Tempus 2 in the ViziOrange/Dusk color. I like my running shoes to have some pop. I am looking forward to the updated upper, even though it will be about 1/2 heavier than v1. Sept 4th. Countdown…18 days! 🙌 Hopefully no more delays.
I heard that the new version is going to be a tad heavier too. I hope that doesn’t affect speed too much. The ViziOrange/Dusk color you mentioned sounds awesome. Maybe once you wear them a few times you can drop another comment on this video and give an update on whether you like the new shoe! That said, I’m wondering why the release has been delayed. Thanks for commenting!!!
I hope the added weight does not affect speed too much as well. Yeah, I’ll come back here after I’ve put some miles on them. The release date was delayed due to supply chain issues, which is common these days.
@@TheMarathonMasterFinally got ‘em and did a maiden voyage 5k run this morning. The ViZiOrange/Dusk color is very bright/loud, but still cool nonetheless. The improved engineered mesh is great, which provides a secure midfoot fit. I didn’t notice the ~1/2oz increase in weight. 10/10!
@@Adamas11, oh this is great! Hearing about your experience with the new Tempus improves my sense of confidence in the new shoe. I will admit to not liking the idea of a 1/2 ounce weight increase, but maybe that doesn’t play much of a role in ultimate speed. I mean, a half-ounce isn’t much. Thanks for coming back to the comments to give us an update on the Tempus 2. I’m sure many runners are going to be happy to hear that it’s a 10/10!
Thanks, @patross4597. I’m hearing that design tweaks on the new shoe won’t make the shoe better. That being said, I’m glad I got the shoe at a highly discounted rate as I’ll be needing them and it’s easy to “run through” running shoes quickly.
I've read that the update has minimal changes so you may have done well for yourself with the deal on the original. The Hurricane 24 is a stability shoe and a new release from Saucony that is getting a lot of good reviews. It's a max cushion shoe but maybe worth considering in the future depending on your needs.
Yes, I’ve heard the same about the Tempus 2-minimal changes. Looking forward to trying one of these pairs after I wear out the blue Tempus shoes I’ve been using. I’m going to look into the Hurricane as well. I’ve heard lots of great things about this shoe too. By the way, if you’re interested, I also saw today that the Tempus is on sale-$120-on the Fleet Feet website. Thanks so much for commenting. I appreciate you!
@dtranger, thanks for commenting! Have you worn the new Tempus yet? By your emoji, I take it you don’t like it? I released a new video about the Tempus 2. Check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Nkqzlt7QFiY.html
@@TheMarathonMaster I haven’t tried the new one yet. I just bought a new pair of the original yesterday. I love the original because it’s so light. I will be buying a Tempus 2 I’m sure. I just wish they hadn’t made it heavier. It seems all stability shoes are so heavy. I just got a new Hurricane 24 and in my size it weighs almost 13 ounces. I can really feel the weight when I run in them. So heavy.
@dtranger, I am so happy to hear that you were able to get an original Tempus, and I hope you enjoy them for a good stretch of time! I agree with the “heavy” assessment of stability shoes. A lot of people need help in the stability department, and brands might be pleasantly surprised by sales if they offered speedier shoes for customers with stability needs. Hopefully the extra half-ounce won’t hurt too much, but my bigger hope is that Saucony and other brands continue to work on refining a speedy stability shoe that is an improvement over Tempus. Let’s see!
Thank you! The hair is out of necessity because of all the running and the need to wash and go every day. Yes, it was a great sale! I’m happy to have the shoes.
I’m hearing that the only change in Tempus 2 is the upper and that the shoe will/may weigh a bit more. People who have mentioned this don’t seem to think much of changing the upper and aren’t please that the shoe may be weightier, which makes sense-their lack of appreciation for the change-if the aim is to use the shoe for faster race times.
The ASICS Gel-Kayano 29 got me through a hip injury/issue. Occasionally, I still wear them when I want to reduce impact during my runs. I think that Sauconys are still my favorite though!
@deks440, LOL! Actually, that’s a cool tip. Ironically, I have a pair of mismatched Nike slides-they were sold that way, with one slide with a black upper and white heel, and the other slide with a white upper and black heel-that attract a lot of eyeballs when I’m out (and sometimes compliments). Thanks so much for commenting!
@deks440, I would like to mention your YT handle (name) and comment in an upcoming video. If this is not OK, let me know and I’ll just mention your comment. Thank you!
