I interpret open world as such, I’ll give an example: Open up a Pokemon map, any game, and look at blank areas. In this example I will use Kanto. Feast eyes on how Celadon City is right below Mt Moon. If Fire Red, Red, Yellow, or even Let’s Go was ACTUALLY Open world, what that would mean is that you could travel past the set boundaries. You should be able to just go through the forest area between these two cities, from Lavender to Cerulean, and many more, issue being that since the game is linear pathings. It does not matter if it makes sense on a map, why would you ever view the map to always go the same inputs? Everytime you even GO to Celadon, its from left or right. There’s plenty of space all around, and if you were able to take shortcuts, you Fly on a pokemon from Pallet Town to Celadon in a straight line; I’ll promise you that’s the same distance it’d take to hit Pewter

This doesn’t look like GameCube graphics. Colosseum and XD are LITERAL GC games and this look better than those! Also GC graphics is still a huge step forward for Pokémon mothership title graphics!
