My favorite part about this beat is just like the subject matter it has a dark and almost ghostly tone. And just like the lyrics it makes you genuinely feel like you are alone in a place you don't belong.

Havoc... A damn boss for that track... I don't know of any other group with more iconic drop tracks than the Mobb... Been sampled probably more than any other group, not to mention Prodigy and Havoc lacing the track with ill lyrics, Big ups to Mobb Deep and rest in power to the infamous Legend Prodigy
Here's a cool little history on this song: Havoc found the piano sample from this old vynil that was on the floor that they used to literally step on. He sampled 2 seconds of it and looped it and slowed it down.
