Thank you for these tips.I live in Germany and I'm going to buy an Olympus camera. I watched a lot of videos about the TG 6,it is an amazing camera. But ... everybody is waiting for the TG 7.My experience with cameras and other devices is in fact that most of the time it makes sense to wait for the next model. So what can I do?

Hi, the TG-7 has been released and is available for purchase with Backscatter. Here is a link to the camera itself (www.backscatter.com/OM-System-Tough-TG-7-Waterproof-Camera) It is very similar in functionality to the TG-6, and it even uses the same PT-059 housing. What is wrong with the Tg6's battery and recording video?? Even when the batteries are full the camera shows low battery after few minutes of footage, and shuts down automatically. Then when I turn it on again the battery is still capable of making tons of photos but for video shuts off again and again... I have had the same problem with Tg5 and tg6 so my cameras or genuine several batteries are not defective.

As of this time there really aren't even reliable rumors about the TG-7. People have been speculating for a long time but the official word is that TG-6 is going to be around for a while longer.

Hi, with the TG-6 and TG-7 you can set shutter speed limits to keep the camera from defaulting to a super slow shutter speed. Hii, can i know should i use automatic camera flash together? Or should i switch off the camera flash light as the light it self is enough for the macro photo?

There is no need for the camera flash if using the video light. The video light itself is enough for macro photos.

It's better to use AF Super Macro setting while in Aperture Priority mode for more exposure control than what Microscope Mode allows.

Thx for this tips. Just a question. Can you use ambient light filter and snoot at the same time? Use both together is correct for macro video shooting? Thx in advance.

There is really no need to use a filter while shooting macro. The camera can be left to auto white balance because our light source is so close to our subject. The color on the subject will be accurate/natural looking, and the background will be dark. A filter would not add anything in this situation.

Yes, if you're really going for the easiest time and best results. Removing the air lens allows you to get closer so for more situations this will be more beneficial.

hello thanks for your great video, I've always referenced your videos about Olympus TG-6 cause of the lack of reference out there. since then I just wondered if the battery seal compartment is needed to be greased or not. I've found a tiny bit of water droplet and several bubbles coming out when I'm trying to dip my tg-6 into a bowl of water to rinse it. I hope you could help me. thanks in advance

Thanks for the feedback! There is no need to lubricate the battery seal on the camera itself. If it appears that the integrity is compromised, you should immediately cease submerging it in water and send it in to us for an inspection. We can check it out and get it repaired for you. Thanks!

Have canon eos 6D with macro lense Is it worth to spend that much to bring full frame dslr underwater 3k for underwater housing + light or 1,500 for tg-6 set for underwater macro to start PT-059 or Ikelite

Feel free to give us a call or send us an email to discuss further, but we'd probably take a TG-6 in that situation. Less upfront cost and overall better macro performance. We like the PT-059 but each housing has it's own features. Reach out to us and we can help you out!

Video lights function very differently from strobes underwater. A ring light is even more specialized in its role than a general video light. We find that they eliminate shadows and create a less natural look, so we tend not to favor them for general use, but can be fun to use for certain shots.

Definitely not. The camera can do an equivalent level of macro magnification on its own.

Flexible arms can be squeaky and heard underwater. Ball and clamp-style arms are much quieter, basically silent.
