I had never thought about "Too wide open lens", as something that could hurt your resulting image. But you prove your point. Excellent video! Thanks, Lidsay!

That shooting wide open is a real trap! I make it a point to not stay in one location longer than 2 minutes to force myself to move. Nice tutorial Lindsay!

Thank you, I liked this a lot. It often seems to come down to confidence to try and "fail", to give oneself the permission to search for the best shot. I tend to struggle with this, specially when clients are involved to look professional - as if that means that I arrive to the scene and instantly know the perfect angle.

Wonderful. Thanks. Great to see you use the full capability of the 1.2 lens and not shoot wide open. Do you carry a small reflector /diffuser to assist directing the natural light should the location not co-operate. Do you have a makeup kit available to touch up or remove perspiration or can you rely on things being stable for a few hours. Keep up the excellent tutorials.

Lindsay, in the final image her skin looks fabulous.... is this as shot in camera or what post production do you use on the skin?
@lindsayadlerphoto
@lindsayadlerphoto 3 года назад
definitely post. hard sun light is rough on the skin-- frequency separation + local dodge and burn.

@@lindsayadlerphoto this would also apply to the studio as well, particularly with older clients, always tricky not to highlight the the face wrinkles on any age.

indeed!

With the flashes incorporated in the video it is difficult to tell whether flash was indeed used or not. Those flashes led me to believe that the photos were not all natural light.

In outdoor light do you shoot on aperture mode or something else ?

Aw well thank you. I guess it's just haters for the sake of being haters, or those who expect something and the video didn't satisfy that need.
