Sarah Scherer of the U.S. air rifle team turned personal tragedy into motivation to make her first Olympic games. Drew Levinson reports from Colorado Springs, Colo.
Could have said that with more grace.. "Unfortunately two years ago he took his own life" Really anything besides a pun about an olympic shooterist "turning the gun" on themselves.
Wow as I watched this video I wasn’t expecting that kind of news. So I am sending Sarah my best wishes and my sincere condolences for her loss. And many thanks for your courage good luck.
Beginner question. When I hold my left elbow against my side in standing posture and relax my muscles, the elbow tends the slip to the left and not remain in a position where the left hand is able to support the rifle. I have to tense the muscles in my left shoulder to keep the elbow in position, and this is not good for accuracy. How do I fix this?
i miss shooting like this at my school uhggg this was the best sport ever, but i had to move and here where i live now you need gun licences for air guns and the closest team is 200km away.... :(
Lmfao wait what? I might sound like a comete idiot here but I though airsoft guns were like something 10yos use. Not exclusively but kinda like in the same category as paintball, video games, magic card games, etc
By faceing sideways and leaning back shes bringing the weight of her rifle closer to her center of gravity. Because its close to center of gravity she doesnt have to use her muscles as much to hold it. By not useing her muscles she retains fine motor control and precision. Similer to writeing with a light grip on a pen vs trying to death grip a pen.
So, I don't know anything about shooting or anything like that, so why are men and women separated? I get for like basketball where it's physical ability. But I don't understand what the difference would be about pulling a trigger. If anyone can explain I'd appreciate it! 🙂👍
You could get a .177 Feinwerkbau FWB 800 for around 40-50 milli rupiahs ($3.5k-$4k) in my country. Most Olympic/rich local competitive shooters in my country either used FWB 800, Steyr LG110, or Walther LG400. The elders that played in other disciplines like 25M WRABF or 41M Monte (2 cm balls) mostly used the HW100 for local competitions, or they build their own rifle from scratch. some might modify it with a cost that goes twice than the stock unit.
DuckOfficialYT respect for what? Some dude who decided to make the selfish decision to off himself no there’s no honor in that and besides it was more of a dig on the crappy reporter than the dude who felt sorry for himself
suicide is more questionable than cancer is...many times you can see cancer coming! you wake up one morning and you don't want yourself. Ill take cancer at least I can fight back alittle. I survived cancer and a heart attack ...that coming from a 20 year sport nut that has ate right from birth.
Es taype ki raifel ho to 101% laga duga... Kiyoki mene airgun hoti h jo nichi quility ki us se nishana lagaya pr bo kharab ho gayi... Agr es taype ka hame saheyog mile to 101% pakka nishana laga duga.. # 9720582132
10m = 30ft-ish. And her target is tiny. Imagine trying to sign your name on a check with a laser pointer and the lazer pointer weighs 30 pounds and you only have one chance or you loose to the entire world.
Anna Hinly no you can’t. With this kind of competitive shooting, if you’re rounds aren’t making a ragged hole then you’re doing it wrong. The target is 33 feet away and is the size of a silver dollar. You’re also doing it standing, kneeling, and prone. Oh and you have to do it dozens of times every session. So yeah it’s pretty damn hard and that’s why it’s an olympic sport.
@@milathecat5454 I was the captain of a marksmanship team for 3 years. I am currently a long range vintage service rifle competitor. Standing and trying to hit a target the size of a silver dollar from 33 feet away 10 times all in the 1/4" sized center is extremely difficult. To put that into perspective a perfect overall score of 300 is almost unheard of.
@@milathecat5454 lol are you trolling? An air gun is accurate yes, and so is a real firearm at 10 meters indoors. The rifles are almost always more accurate than the shooter, and I'm no exception. The point is that I don't have a problem just because my years of actual experience teaching people to shoot says that it's hard. I also don't need to back up the fact that it's an olympic sport.
