Today we are heading down Cape for a fun New England kind of Cape Cod day out. We're going to my favourite general store in Brewster and it's very authentic Victorian.
Today's video is a long one as I really wanted to show the shop long view so you could feel you were getting a day out. Come along with me as we drive down Cape and enjoy an afternoon of browsing general goods like Victorian folk.

Good morning Dearest Donna , The beauty of the morning light and sounds are enchanting inviting thoughts of the Joys and opportunities that the day brings . I love the ride in the New England stately homes with Colonials , gingerbread and saltboxes , just charming . The ye Ole general store brings me back to my childhood precious memories indeed . Thank you for allowing us to muse at all the delightful treasures , it made me so happy to virtually shop , goodness knows it’s been too long a time . This helped lift my spirits as you Always do . I Love hurricane glass to festoon my candle sticks and I saw they have them . Roasted peanuts reminds me of skating at the duck pond in town . We all gathered there and had a bonfire and roasted chestnuts and peanuts as we skated in moonlight . What a truly and wonderful comment to receive on this cold Winter's morn. I cannot tell you how joyful it is to feel I've made even one person's spirits to be lifted. My hope was to give a bit of an outing to anyone who might need it and my own selfish joys of going out too, I might add. And the reward of blue willow teapots and antique machine roasted peanuts surely adds to the 'chore' of it :) Thank you so much for this lovely comment. I honestly feel like we've found a little Virtual Village here where, though we live all over the globe, we can pop in and have a quick chat. :) I think I'll pin this comment...if I can remember how to haha, the intricacies of RU-vid, eh?

I have a few base hats I love and then I add to them or decorate them for the day sometimes, it's just a fun thing that gives me that 'zen' moment :) They are leftover from my Pink Christmas tree decorations :) Waste not want not, they do say .

This place is a treasure trove, my goodness! the lamps, the peanut warmer (never saw something like that), the cookie cutters to add to my stash, more vintage tins (to add to my collection), the teapots (as if I need more). I do the same thing- I drive an hour lay on the beach I try every month, I live in CT, then I take pictures- and a video of zen of the water for my zen…. It has been amazing therapy for me- as I knew us mermaids 🧜‍♀️ have a gift and u just have to look and listen 🌊 🐚 💕🙏

Hello there Donna, hm,I'm in the store with you this morning, although today for me is very early Tuesday morning last day f January 2022.such a lot of goodies I see.donna thankyou for your videos, I'm working my way through yours as I started watching about 2 years ago. When I went to Maine a few years ago and traveled through New England, I was amazed at how BIG many of the houses were. LOOOOONG cold winters will do that.

Yes and Maine is much colder and they have a architectural vernacular called house barn shed or something like that as they connected all buildings together to make living easier in harsh winters so in time they became Big houses :) Thanks for stopping by @Tracy Heath

Which reminds me, in your videos while your looking at the sea, to your right there is a large white house across the way. That really stands out. It looks Victorian? When you are dressed in your lovely attire looking at the sea, its so perfect with that house there.

After your videos I’d love to visit Sandwich & Brewster. I’ve never been to the cape before but I think many will want to after seeing your videos. You could work for the tourist register for the area ! I loved so many things in the store. I’d love a red oil lamp and the blue willow tea pot is lovely as well. Wow, I consider that such a lovely compliment @Dolly Dog that you now wish to visit my little area after my videos :) We've had a slow season due to 2020, so 2021 would sure happily welcome more tourists, if we're allowed. Beautiful capture of the morning sky! Brewsters reminded me of some of my favourite shops in nearby towns and villages in the Ottawa Valley. I am inspired to venture out to visit a few soon. What an amazing store, more like a museum, a real step back in time. Could spend ages in there looking at everything, but unlike you I don't like too much clutter in my home and see ornaments as dust collectors rather than decorative items LOL, so whilst I loved looking I don't think I would purchase much. Lovely to see little Una again. So sweet.

That's so funny @Sunny girl 87 I keep hearing about this 'death cleaning' I'll have to look it up, tho I've no children so I dont' have to feel I'm burdening them with my leftover treasures when I leave this earth LOL. I love that we are all different tho, makes the world so much more fun and when all the death cleaning happens, Crows like me can swoop in and pick through the clutter to find new treasures LOL ;)

I am a sucker for old display cabinets, especially for sewing and thread. I have two vintage displays, one is made here in Canada from the fifties for storing and displaying thread, the other is a Cigar display from the same era, that I use for thread. I tie fishing flies, I have many spools of material. My white whale is an oak cabinets for storing charts laid flat. Truthfully I love them all but I am usually priced out of the market LOL

I'm halting your video at the 20 minute mark just to let you know I'm having the best time touring the store with you! ...THANK YOU!!! ...I also enjoyed the ride over to the store. I do enjoy a good ride, especially for fun when I get to ride shotgun! When I became stricken near the first of the year and went on extreme treatment I had to allow someone to drive and it wasn't such a big deal after discovering how much more I could see compared to driving all the time. ...I'll chime in again later after finishing this video so I can further comment. ...Gosh. I'm also making cornbread. This is very southern except for the fact I use almond milk instead of dairy milk. My side will be green beans. ...The light of living graces us all. I would get both the red lanterns, one for either side of the mantle, they had in Victorian times mantle lights and usually in a pair. That machine to see pictures in is a " Cail-o-scope"
