"Shop remodel #1, Saw Till" is the first of many videos to come by Brian Noel of Bearkat Wood about woodworking. "I wanted an inspiring space to work and record videos to share with other woodworkers" There will be other videos in the remodeling series and then project videos will be produced in the space. Enjoy!

Cabinet is very well done and artistically very nicely balanced. Crafters either have an eye for design or simply don't. You definitely have the talents. It's nice to see a woodshop that's clean, organized and looks good. You inspire me....

I came over from Matt. I am intrigued by the design work you do. It is quite different. As others have indicated I would be interested in your lathe device. A most quick way for rounding off square material. Please do a video of it. I have subscribed as I would like to see more. Bill

+William Bidel I use a router mill from Legacy; legacywoodworking.com/products.cfm?product=306 Mine is about 15 years old, so it doesn't have the bells and whistles the new one does or the price tag. They got pricey, but they are worth it.

Love your work, I'm always happy when I stumble upon a new channel with amazing craftsmanship as yours.. I really enjoyed this video, and the tool cabinet one as well.. May I ask what the router/lathe jig you used is? Is that a home made tool? Or is it something you got someplace? Maybe both? I've never seen something like that, sparked my curiosity.. Keep up the good work!
@bearkatwood6354
@bearkatwood6354 8 лет назад
+adam nichols I use a router mill that is made by legacy woodworking. My version is about 14 years old, but still does everything I can think up. You can see more of it on the workbench video.

Really nice piece, only problem is in my commercial shop it would collect dust like an extractor. Given me a few ideas though as I really need to do something with my handsaws!
@bearkatwood6354
@bearkatwood6354 8 лет назад
Any open till will collect dust, my shop produces a LOT of dust, probably comparable to yours and I only blow the till out maybe once every other month and you can see how it looks in the videos. I don't think that should stop you from having some fun with it. Best of luck, send me pictures of what you make, would love to see it.
@adamlynch4607
@adamlynch4607 8 лет назад
+BearKat Wood when I eventually get around to I I will. Does the dust catch in the carving? Have to say I'm sick of looking at old wardrobes, kitchen units and rough steel racking so the new stuff I will be making will look smart!
@bearkatwood6354
@bearkatwood6354 8 лет назад
It's not too bad, not that noticeable. If I had to chose I would take a little dust and the carving over boring flat any day ;)

Whats the go with the router lathe thingy?
@bearkatwood6354
@bearkatwood6354 8 лет назад
+dztrbdgod It is the legacy woodworking mill. Very handy! I have the old version so the new ones have a lot more bells and whistles, but mine still works great after 15 years with no maintenance. legacywoodworking.com/products.cfm?product=306

ah, Ok, the rest of the story is always interesting. I really like your work. I happened on your vid as I am working on making a very utilitarian saw till. I'm trying to pack in twice as many by having saws hang between those that are standing. Because I have blade guards on my saws, hanging them is not as simple as housing 2 dowels per saw. I'm on my 4th hanger design.
@bearkatwood6354

+Big Fat Tony's I would like to see the finished product when you get it done.
@BigFatTonys

Sure, but this is the last hanger design try. I've decided if this doesn't work I'm scraping the idea. The glue up is curing now so I'll be testing it tonight.
