Shopify would honestly be perfect if it has a better website builder. Brand is ultra important nowadays and being restricted to the templates is almost a deal-breaker for me.
Hi, Andrew. I appreciate you sharing your feedback. Could you let us know a bit more about what templates you're currently using and what you're looking to focus on when building a website?
@@learnwithshopify Thanks for responding! I am currently using the Dawn theme which is OK in itself, although it looks like the vast majority of other templates (and therefore, brands) only. There isn’t really anything that I can find that let me stand out or do anything quite unique. Especially with respect to the free themes. The paid themes are a little better, although they are incredibly expensive for the slight enhancements they offer (in my opinion). The Shopify back end and everything else associated with Shopify is very impressive, but as my website is the face of my brand to the public, I want it to pop/stand out a little more than any theme (within a reasonable price range) offers. Personal opinion of course, but I would rather have to work harder behind the scenes on the e-commerce front to maintain my brand image externally. I hope that makes sense. Not trying to bad mouth Shopify. Just doesn’t quite hit the mark for me I guess.
Thanks for the additional context and glad to hear you're enjoying navigating the admin. What kind of business do you have? You mentioned you're currently using Dawn theme. Have you had a chance to take a look at some of the newest themes that we've launched: bit.ly/34wJ67u? Our 3 newest 2.0 themes have some great new features that may suit your business needs. In regards to having your store stand out and represent your brand image, have you thought about looking into our Shopify Experts: bit.ly/3rDodAi. Another great place to look for help with customization's to your theme is our Community Forums. Merchants, Partners and developers actively share their workarounds, apps and theme customization's that have worked.
@@learnwithshopify Not a problem at all. Thanks so much for the additional information. I sell clothing (predominately for men). I have had a look through the new themes, although the available sections/blocks are a little limiting for my liking. Although they are definitely moving in the right direction. Some of the paid themes that I have used on trial have great/different blocks, but they don't translate over to the Dawn theme of course (which I am sure is intentional). Are you able to share some information or a link to the community forums? I would be keen to browse around to see if anyone has created anything that might be helpful!
No problem at all! We'd recommend taking a look at the following community boards: Technical Q&A bit.ly/3gJath9, Shopify Design bit.ly/33lGCbA, and Online Store 2.0 bit.ly/3swzNfC. Cheers!
Ive always loved Sopify BUT since Shopify has decided to 'slap' a 2% fee on 3rd party payments (I mean what makes Shopify think they deserve 2% of a payment they're not processing! GOUGING!!!). I'm certainly looking to migrate off Shopify, as I can see on Reddit many others are too...
I really don't know why being an ecom platform shopify does not offer few things: 1) a cancel order option to website customer 2) email OTP verification for registration 3) product bundling 4) email OTP verification for COD orders These does not need installing 3rd party apps
tried both and wix worked a lot better for me cause i could actually drag and drop things on the website builder where as with shopify you cant and have to stick with the limited themes they give you.
"As a Human Being.." That's a tricky line you used 😏 I'm planing to launch my first E-commerce website this year. This video help to choose to most appropriate platform. Although most probably I'm going for Shopify. Thanks for the video 😊
In pricing u said the lowest plan for wix is 35$ but that's the highest one.... And not a business plan either.... And priority customer service means you literally be getting VIP treatment. It's not a step DOWN. It's a step UP. Great video nonetheless! Thanks!
Thank you for following up! You don't need a trademark or corporation to start an online business. However, trademarks can help protect your brand and business. If you'd like to learn more, please take a look here: bit.ly/3AlFDEc. Cheers!
It taught me some things, but as a wix user thinking about Shopify, I noticed that this was a very biased video, trying to promote their store in a method to make their competitor look bad. Try to improve your videos Shopify
Hey guys, please note that the free trial promotion has changed. The free trial period is now for 3 days, after which it will cost only 1$/month for the next 3 months!
Can I combine my products and dropshipping products on the same store site??? For Example: I produce Jeans, but want to give my customers shoe options. I sell the jeans and the shoes are from a third party dropshipping company... Or do I need Two Shopify accounts- one for my store and another for dropshipping from a third party supplier. Thank you for continually posting valuable information & knowledge!!! Have A Great Day!!!😊
Hey there, thanks for watching! That is a great question, you can indeed choose to have a dropshipping supplier as well as sell your own products on one Shopify store. I've built my website on WIX and had to cancel it due to it not being fully responsive. It just wasn't on my mind in 2023, because it's such a UX standard. I'm glad I changed.
Hi! For starters can I use Shopify only for content management (blog) and portfolio (main corporate website)? Maybe they'll want the ecommerce in the future.
Iam unable to understand how to control that shopify in mobile...littrelly at first time iam confused and i opened alott inactive accounts in shopify..could you please help me how to clear it ..?

Hey, there! We have a list of available payment gateways that you can utilize in Jamaica here (bit.ly/3MdkdyO). Do you have an existing business that you want to bring over or is it a new business endeavor? - Dirk
Hey Farrah, thanks for reaching out. This is a great question! @@learnwithshopify ohh great thanks for your replay, one more question, If I want to work with teespring(spring now) How Can I do? is there a video do you recommend to find out how to?? thanks again
It's my pleasure! I checked in our app store and it looks like we don't have a Teespring app, but I did find an app called OrbitKit Print‑On‑Demand which integrates with Teespring: bit.ly/3rwBU2z. You can download the app to your Shopify store and use it to fulfill orders. For the steps on downloading an app, you can check out this video from our Help Center RU-vid page: bit.ly/3fEynK3. I hope this helps!
I’m not sure where you got your information but apparently this video is not up-to-date. I just checked WIX and did find out that they do offer multiple currency. If I was able to attach a photo on here I could show you. It’s really upsetting when people do not do their due diligence and offer a transparent and truthful review with facts. Very sad makes me wonder how much you can trust someone when this happens. I would strongly suggest you go and do your research appropriately and up-to-date and then come back and redo this video and apologize. That would be showing that the customer that you’re trying to reach through this video and platform actually matters to you.
Yes, she even mentioned that when you design the website for desktop on wix you have to redo it for mobile version which is a complete lie! It automatically gets adjusted. That’s when I started getting suspicious about this video.
Hi James, thank you for sharing your experience here for other merchants.
