I’m so glad to get some trucking content from you bro. I’ve been watching from the very start when the hellkeezy was black before the wrap. But when truck shopping, pay more attention to the motor and the how it’s been maintenanced. You can check the VIN number on the truck and if it’s been taken care of, it will tell you if it’s had any work done and which place took care of it. Also, find a mechanic you can confide in. Maintenance on your equipment can make or break your company. God speed brutha and be safe! ✊🏾

Also you have to think about repair cost. Detroit Diesel parts are the easiest. Peterbuilt/Kenworth are managed by the same company. Volvo owns Mack. International stay away from. I drive a 13 speed Volvo. California wants you to own truck, trailer authority. Manuals you will have less problems with. How many states will your company travel in. Make sure that the truck you get have at lease a bunk heater. Diesel fuel can run 1100-1600 weekly. Freightliner owns Detroit Diesel which is located in Detroit,Mi( My Hometown). Volvo parts will probably cost the most. Make sure you stay on top of your maintenance. Automatics have a lot of computer issues. Proud of you for even getting I to this. California have strict emissons

Freightliners are the easiest to fix but they're cookie cutter trucks that get no attention. Since Tall Guy is into souping up cars he'll probably want to soup up his rig which would fit better if he had a 379, 389 or w900.

I own a 21 389 Pete and love it but if your gonna be hiring drivers go with whatever’s most reliable and fuel efficient is key. But Definitely go with a X15 Cummins they are reliable so far bud. Can’t wait to see what you get. I’ve been out here 17 years and learn something everyday lol

Ken Worth is top of the line. Has one of the most powerful engines. Freightliners is very good because it’s easier for most mechanics to work on. Volvo mechanic shops are only in certain locations and if you break down the tow fees will break the bank if you are far away. I would definitely go Freightliner or Kenworth hands down!

Congrats on the new venture🍾🍾 I’ve been in the trucking game since 1999 and became an owner in 2001 (Young ole Ni??a) and after owning and driving all brands the Kenworth T680 with the Cummins for me is my overall best truck. And a few pointers the auto-shifts aren’t perfect band new, no recap tires negotiate new ones, ask if the DPF filter is new or has been cleaned, no deal breaker Refrigerator are $650 aftermarket 30min install, and last If you run teams or plan to put a team in it get the lowest mileage truck possible because the truck will run though that aftermarket warranty in around a year or less of running hard.

Get as close to a "ridge runner" as you can in that automatic because you will need all the power you can get if you have to drive through the mountains to get to your starting point or drop off point. Make sure you have a set of chains for the snow because most states will not allow you to drive your truck in the snow without them and they give the truck better traction.

I just started driving myself and I would say for space wise with two people I recommend the freight liner due to being able to rock a bigger fridge inside also able to add a tv on both top and bottom bunk

Me and my partner own a small trucking company with 10 trucks. All the trucks are automatic with most of them no older than four years. I was new getting into it but my partner had the experience. What I discovered even though we had the contracts upfront we have to take in consideration the upkeep of those trucks.

Kenworth and Peterbuilt is the best two options and have the biggest sleeper space. Peterbuilt has a better turning radius but both are strong and pull loads with ease. Can’t go wrong either way! I have a Peterbuilt 579 and I love it

Blessings glad you getting into this 🧑‍💼 business great one. As a former truck driver, the best truck 🛻 was freight liner, with a cumming or destroy engine. And between mechanical or automatic I will go with mechanical. I don’t know why company are going with automatic. But that’s a choice to make. Make sure you get a truck with over 400 HP. Ken worth is definitely a smoother ride but less forgiving with your turns as a newbie. Freightliner will be more forgiving to get you out of a sticky situation with your turns. I like the Freightliner because it’s what I started on and I always went back to it! Trucking is a great tool for a means to an end to reach other ends, much respect my brotha and maybe I’ll see y’all out on the road!

Midroof are single bunks. That's a day cab without the bed. If you get a 2017 international and up only it has the X15 Cummins engine Which is good Freightliners sit in shop waiting on parts to come in upon repairs. That's something to think about.

I drove four years with all types of trucks, the Kenworth is a big creme puff, caddy like nice Volvo very extra supreme. Freighliner work horse aderage ride, it's easy to get repaired very little down time.

I have had my CDL about 5 years ..Just research research and research some more i would go with KenWorth don't like the clutches in the Peterbilt But that Freightliner is Good to unless you want an automatic either way...Congratulations.. You may even look into Dump trucks too..It all makes Money something for Sway to run..Good Blessings

Everyone has a different feel I do freightliners because the maintenance is easier and has less issues overall. Them Peter's run run tho. My next truck will be a Coronado

Been trucking for 12 years all the advice I can give you is get an oil test and a blow by test, those couple test will give you 85% of the info on the truck and getting into trucking any advice just ask truckers like to talk go to the truck stops that's where you'll get great Information!!!! My opinion Freightliner cascadia= Honda Civic (cheaper to buy and maintain. Parts readily available at most shops.) Kenworth= BMW (bit on the expensive side, much nicer than most, parts aren’t too bad in most shops but may be more expensive.) Volvo= Maserati (cheap when used but might be a headache mechanically especially with Volvo engine. Has to go to the dealer most of the time.)
