Honestly, congratulations to you guys. I think you deserve it. I'm pretty sure I found you guys because my boyfriend at the time and I (we were long distance, they lived in Albany, CA (Bay Area) while I live in Grand Rapids, MI) were going to make a weekend dinner together on Skype and we wanted a homemade ranch dressing recipe lol. I know, that sounds so silly. Well, alas, there you guys were. And funny enough, before I subscribed, my boyfriend at the time would catch some of your videos and actually recognized you guys used to live in the same area-ish as he did! Anyway, I've enjoyed getting to know your fam. Watching your babes grow. Take care can't wait for the HP video 🤍
Just so you know, the Bourbon biscuits aren’t alcoholic, they don’t have whisky in, they are just chocolate sandwich biscuits named after a former French Royal! And yes you’re right, we call them biscuits here, cookies are usually what we call chocolate chip American style cookies.
i mean, to drive in the uk, you have to go through pretty intensive courses and tests. in america, it seems they give licenses to pretty much anyone with eyes
TBF it varies state by state, I passed my car and motorcycle tests in Florida no problems but here in England I only have a motorcycle license (when the DVLA can be bothered to do the job correctly) driving cars in the UK is tricky for me as I can't feel the speed the same as riding a motorcycle
@@snowy.ethereal Driving license requirements vary by state, however, there are federal standards every state needs to adhere. I can only speak for the two states where I tested (NJ and CA). Both had rigorous testing requirements, for Car and Motorcycle licenses. I have spent a lot of time in the UK, and have discuss/compared the training in the UK and the two states mentioned above. I didn't find the requirements that different other than age.
As a uk resident it’s so cool to see your take on all of our foods. Good job you didn’t buy the twiglets they are like marmite sticks that are very strong in flavour. Loving all the travel vlogs.
Unless it's really hot (like it was this summer just gone) it's very uncommon for bugs to come into most British houses*, which is why mesh screens are a non existent feature of British homes. Treacle (proper black treacle) is like Molasses, they both come from the sugar refining process. However since the mid Victorian era most treacle tarts are made Golden syrup (another stage of the srp) which is like very thick honey, the tt in Harry Potter would likely have been (by the houselves) with GS as until some point around the late 80's- mid 90's (when it was taken of the menu) it stopped being in the weekly/ fortnightly school dinner dessert rotation. *= some older houses do have shutters because they were built before curtains became commonplace
This was such a fun video to watch! I never thought Tesco could be interesting, but it was such fun to see you point out the item that differ from the US. Congratulations on a well deserved one million, I love your channel ❤️
unlike the US, the UK doesn’t rinse the bloom off their eggs which is why they don’t need to be refrigerated. if you buy farm fresh eggs in the states, they don’t need to be refrigerated either. I didn’t know this until a few months ago and I found it super interesting.
The thing about roundabouts is that everybody does go at once - to some extent anyway! This is better than stopping at lights - it has been proven that traffic flows better around roundabouts. Eggs are treated in the US so they lose the outside coating that keeps them fresh which is why you keep them in the fridge there
I’m so happy you came to our country, Scotland! as a Scottish person I have to say…Not many Scottish people actually like haggis even though it was invented and made in Scotland!
I love this I’m from the uk and love watching people shopping in grocery stores in the USA however I’ve never seen it really done in the Uk and it was lovely to see what you found interesting and different on things that are just normal to us. I’ve driven in The USA and it is easier to drive in the USA also cars tend to be bigger on the USA compared to the Uk People thought I was strange when I choose a hire car in the USA Sinilar size to my car in the UK as i was told no one chooses a car this small normally
As well as giving way to everything coming from the right and getting in the right lane for your exit, you also have to have some assertiveness whilst using roundabouts. I really did most of my learning to drive on a motorcycle on my own, so I quickly learnt how to be assertive and observant at all times.
Hey I'm from this area and used to absolutely love going to mead open farm as a kid. They often have events throughout the year too! A really lovely farm!
I'm glad you went to a larger Tesco, so many shop tours by overseas visitors are filmed at the smaller town and city centre branches which due to their size have a lot less selection and can be more expensive.
I think we might have mosquitoes in some places in the U.K. but I’ve never heard of anyone being bitten by them or them coming into houses. It’s only a ever a problem when we’re on holiday abroad.
Oh we definitely do have mosquitoes in the UK especially in the south or south east or south west, maybe not so much up north as it’s a few degrees cooler. Anywhere warm muggy or stagnant water you will find mosquitoes. In the highlands of Scotland they have midges not sure if they are their versions of mosquitoes.
Ahhh we go to tesco like every other day!! It is so cool seeing you guys go to shops and things that we go to every day over here!! ALSO CONGRATULATIONS FOR 1M SUBS!!!
im a uk resident, and the roads can be scary, but once you get used to it there's nothing to worry about! A tip for roundabouts is that you wanna stay in the right land, and that you always give way to the RIGHT. also its pronounced ah-ll-di
I live in legton buzzard and I click those video so randomly so it was a nice coincidence to see it here and was pretty surprising considering that it's not a touristy place.
Congratulation! Enjoy your videos. I am planning to go England this summer for 2 weeks with my school. It will be my first time outside the airport. Very excited!
I assure you we feel the same driving in the states 😂 different side of the road, highways with 10 lanes, people flooring it past. Our roads are tiny compared to the states. A lot of places have the same layouts they had decades ago, but cars a lot bigger since then. 🏴😊
Our eggs are on the shelf because that how we store them here, they are tested 3 times before being boxed and stamped with the lion to prove they have been checked and are from the uk. Honey monster, comes from a commercial for sugar puffs with is rice puffe and coated in sugar.... honey monster phase is 'tell um about the honey'
i traveled to germany for 3 months to be with family with my 5 year old last year and by month 2 he could just about speak full german it was mind blowing i already know german because i grew up there but i don’t ever use it but it was amazing
Omg I used to always go to mead open farm when i was younger and I love the massive slides! I’m only around 30 mins from it! Hope you had a great time there ❤️
Egg producers in the States have to wash their eggs. This removed the natural protective covering and means that they have to be refrigerated. Not so in the UK and eggs keep for a long time at room temperature.
I think one of the main things I'd say to any North American coming to the UK is - if you're going to rent a car then get the smallest one you can get away with, and rent it a close to your accommodation as possible. And if you're around London, then just plain don't. In London use public transport.
I’m so sorry you are going through such horrible experiences 😅 but I hope you’re still enjoying your time here! I also am very curious about the clothes you packed, is 2 outfits actually working out for you in this weather or did you have to purchase more? I’m baffled
Some British shops include: Tesco, Lidl, Asda, Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, M&S, Waitrose, Farmfoods, Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M, Boots, Superdrug, Marks and Spencer’s, New look, Lifestyle Express, Co-Op, Premier, Entertainer etc
Congratulations on a million plus subscribers!!🥳 I loved the windows in the air b n b. I am sure it messes with your head, driving on the opposite side of the rd. Glad you made it safely to your destination. Enjoyed seeing the different food items in the store. Even the shopping cart looked very different. ♥
If you want pretty uk come to Lancashire. The most awesome landscapes No window screens because we don’t get mosquitos in the uk, rarely if ever. It’s just not hot enough for that.
Welcome to driving in the UK lol. You get used to narrow roads if you live in the country like I do, but ask someone from the city to do it and they may well be petrified lol. Also, roundabouts have been proven to be safer and more efficient than your average junction, but they do take a little bit of getting used too
I live in london and I don't know what half of the foods you found are!🤣 It's definitely a much bigger Tesco than the one I live close to.(also the strawberry 🍓 and raspberry shaped things are yougurt)
Oh wow! I have been following you for a while and can’t believe you stayed at a place next to Mead Open Farm! My nanny used to live 2 minutes down the road in Billington. Such amazing memories and glad you had a lovely time ❤️
I live in Volusia County Florida we have a lot of roundabouts. There is one road that has 3 roundabouts in a one mile area as you come in to Sanford Florida near the hospital.
mead open farm is a wonderful place only 40 mins away from me i have been there a couple of times hope you guys are having loads of fun and enjoying england! so sorry about the taxis they tend to just ignore people and just try to get them from point a to b as fast as poss!
It.s so funny that people from US , when come to europe and see normal size foods they say it.s small/ tiny size. We have normal size products, but in the US you guys go extra extra extra large size for everything. I don.t mean it in a bad way, but it really amuses me when i hear it. Like everyone has the same reaction😂 hope you had fun in your trip and learned a lot of new stuff
Literally the standard of taxi drivers in the UK. Sense of self importance and that they should have right of way over anyone and anything..I have lived in the UK my whole life and it's always been the same. Even with ok rides, it's still true.
and the fruit Pastels are the best candies and the flying saucers and fish and chips are very popular and AL sauce to put on top of your steak but you can put it on anything
" NARROW ROADS" , or as WE call them... ROADS !! We don't use screens on our windows because there are no " bugs" in the UK that will bite or kill you including mosquitoes.
U deserve the 1 mil subs ❤ we (me and my mom) love your videos! About a year ago we saw a lunchbox video that we are never gonna forget because we loved it so much 🥹 it was a video where a tiny cartoon luchbox said: don’t forget the ranch 😊 i tried to find that video again but couldnt find it:( but Just to let you now we love your videos ❤
Do American homes have screens on the windows? Found that quite interesting haha. In the UK we don’t really get any mosquitos the most that could happen by leaving the window open is maybe an annoyingly loud blue bottle fly or if it’s dark out maybe a moth who’s scared of the dark ☺️
SO much fun- and omg exploring other grocery stores is one of my favorite things to do when I travel, too 🛒! I remember freaking out when I visited my now husband in CA, and seeing that they sold hard liquor in their grocery stores! We definitely don’t have that here in TX 😁! I’ve been a fan since your very beginning, and I was so happy to see you guys reach 1mil 🥳!! Love, hugs, and big CONGRATULATIONS 🎉!!
