I was trying to find the name of the grass I planted this last year and when he walked you over to the tree they were sitting there. It has a fan on top....... beautiful grass.
Paula, do you know of Turk's Caps? They are so southern and they are perennials. Also, Althea's or also known as Rose of Sharon We have grown both in MS and East Texas..they do really well in the heat💕
My favorite so far has been lavender. I dry out my flowers and use them in my home and crafts. The only other things I really have right now are my blueberry bushes. I have 2 little boys, so I love having that kinda thing around for them as an activity. We have strawberry bushes too. But we got this Beautiful blueberry bush last year that has these peachy, red, and green colored leaves. I believe it was called blushing champagne or something like that.
Loving the sunglasses!!!!!! I love how Paula is hands on.....she gets in there and does her thing and just doesn't sit back and let someone else do the personal stuff.
Paula love when you and Eddie go out and about looking at different things. It gives us at home great ideas as well as the different things out there! Love the cooking segments but am thoroughly enjoying these out and about Trips. Thank you for sharing.
Miss Paula, thank you for taking us along on your Herb Creek tour! I love looking at trees, plants, and flowers. I could spend all day looking at them. It's so relaxing after a long, busy day. We must remind ourselves to take time and smell the roses. (So to speak).

We love forsythia and service berry for landscaping...the birds love them! Especially if you have hummingbird feeders! Butterfly bushes are beautiful too! Various natural grasses mixed in with beautiful rock and boulders looks really beautiful and zero maintenance! The deer, rabbits, etc.leave them alone too! Lemongrasses are beautiful perennial too...they are a natural mosquito repellent....win/win! Hydrangeas are always lovely....ferns too!!
Paula I think the “school bus yellow” tress are called Tabebuia trees…they grow all over Florida and in winter early spring …it’s a yellow festival! They are beautiful.
@@debraward1813 I'm sure it is. Lol. And with the leaves being small. I have these big tall trees outside my house, not sure what they are but they shed during the summer, about twice a year. It's becomes a mess everytime. Lol
My mama and grandma always had an "Easter Bush", that was always school bus yellow. They loved Vinca, inpatients, hostas, geraniums, hibiscus🌺, all sorts of roses🌹, and a camellia bush is gorgeous🌸 my hydrangeas bloom all summer
I LOVE GOING SHOPPING WITH YOU! And out preferences for plants and what you like is the same. Rhododendrons are gorgeous. Anything beautiful and colorful. I do love wildflowers also and all the butterflies they bring! And nothing compares to the scent of lilacs. My mother had a huge lilac bush right outside her bedroom window and during the spring/summer her bedroom smelled so good!
Japanese maple trees are beautiful. Crepe myrtles too. My back fence is lined with different colors of crepe myrtles, red, pink, purple and they bloom for a long time every year. I love knock out Rose's too. Very low maintenance. I just love all these tours you are taking us on. I wish I could still walk around like you do. Looking forward to the next tour. Love and best dishes
Hydrangeas, boxwood, maple trees, cone flowers, sunflowers, irises, day lilies. for summer, bulbs tulips for spring time.Bougainvillea vine, and several ferns especially the macho in pots.
Thank you for the lovely nursery tour. I loved it so much! You have the most interesting channel around! Thanks Paula and Eddie. Eddie you do great filming!
Paula, your blouse looks so pretty on You! This was a fun trip! Thanks so much for taking us along! The purple Mexican Petunia's will grow like crazy almost all year long you will have purple flowers.
Love your sunglasses Paula! Nandina are great for Thanksgiving and Christmas decor. Every southern yard has Bougainvillea, Magnolias and Azaleas. And dont forget ferns in the shady areas!!
Some of my favorites is Lavender, Rhodandrum's, Roses, Hostas, Ornamental grasses, phlox, Azalea bushes, Hydrangea, Forsythia bush is yellow and it blooms in the springtime.
This year I planted many perennials. The ones that I liked the best were cranesbill geraniums. Many colors small delicate flowers. Hardy and at least doubled in size. Like lots of sun. Still blooming profusely from spring almost into fall so far. Low spreading mounds
What a great disposition Chris had he was very knowledgeable and informative. A bit star struck but I was be over the moon ticlked pink if I met the beautiful sweet down to earth Paula Deen. Thank you Chris and Eddie I have a feee neww plants I am getting for my land here in Texas. Ofcourse thanks Paula for great containt
Hey Paula! Along with dwarf nandinas, variegated liriope (the clumping kind) is green/white and produces a purple flower in late summer/early fall…love these, have them in my yard. The oak leaf hydrangea produces white cone shaped flowers in the summer. Also, selecting anything that brings birds, butterflies, hummingbirds and bumblebees to the landscape will give you joy! I have no doubt your yard will be beautiful!! Looking forward to a tour! 💕
I love the colors of Lantana and it is easy to take care of it. Plant it, water it and you might have to cut it back in a year or so. Very low maintenance.
Thank you so much Eddie and Paula I learned a lot today I just started planting stuff I eat mangoes and I plant the seed I have seven mango trees going right now I also ate cherries in the summer and then I planted some cherry seeds and out of the six that I planted I only have one left and I live in Charlotte North Carolina
Norway spruce. We planted one about 10 years ago, and it's amazing and healthy! Also call birdsnest spuce because it grows very close to the ground, and doesn't get very big. We made a raised bed surrounded by round rocks. Then planted this just inside of it. Then planted Sedum and gorgeous lilly bulbs. Also fantastic, butterfly weed. Next time you go to the garden center, can I go? Just give me approx. 18 hours to drive there.
My grandmother had a bush called yesterday today and tomorrow it had blooms that were white pink and purple. The blooms come on white turned pink and then finally purple I loved as a small girl staying with my grandma and watching the blooms turn the different colors..very old fashioned..very hard to find.but very old southern
Hi Paula...After I watched this episode of you and Eddie at Herb Creek, I stumbled across someone on You Tube showing the tree you may be looking for. It's a Yellow Trumpet Tree and has the most beautiful vibrant yellow flowers. I can see why you love it. Now I want one!
Xorias...no maintenance. Big round balls of bright butter yellow. Blooms most of the year. Shrubs that get up to 4 ft tall only. Love, love them I have 9 bushes in North FL.
Yellow forsythia shrub is an early spring bloomer, and yellow Jacaranda trees are gorgeous in early Spring. I'm in zone 5 in Canada, so unfortunately can't grow the Jacaranda here.
Paula I have been watching Garden Answer Laura, she has her own RU-vid, facebook I think you will just Adore her and her passion for anything to do with all landscape ,flowers, grasses trees ,shrubs. just all of it and all zones
If you are going to get a Weigela bush, they have a variegated one where the leaves are white & a light green. It's very pretty the one I have blooms pink flowers in bundles. It's beautiful!!!
Very helpful video! I moved to Wilmington Island two years ago and I am still trying to figure out plants down here. I, too, love the low maintenance perennial approach to landscaping. Been to herb creek a few times but it gets expensive. 😜
Yeah, I immediately thought of Forsythia. Lots of folks have them here, and the dark brown wood contrasting with the bright yellow blossoms is beautiful.
Thank you for sharing and supporting the local businesses that you frequent. It would be wonderful if you and the team went to the farmer’s market that you get the produce from and show us how select items such as melons or whatever is in season. Cheers from Pam from Cleveland OH
I love that you are doing these shop with me segment it is exciting to be able to go along and see what you are picking out, I don’t know much about plants and shrubs but I know what looks pretty, I am taking notes, but I also need low-maintenance b/c I am not weeding those days are over. Thank you again for taking us along.
I love your Prada sunglasses I have them and also the one with the rectangular glass frame….still my favorites!! They look beautiful on you with your white hair!!
Boston ferns love shade and they are stately. Hydrangeas you will want. For sun, Encore azaleas bloom in the spring and again in the fall. Another sun tree is crepe myrtle. It blooms June until frost. A beautiful vine growing up a trellis is jasmine. Not the yellow swamp jasmine as it is too invasive. Roses are perfect for trellis.
I love my butterfly bush! It attracts all types of butterflies and hummingbirds. We put dark pink and yellow echinacea around it, which the butterflies also love. I think that yellow plant is forsythia.
We live in south Texas. Plumbagos are a one of the few plants that are true blue. It is a shrub and once established is drought tolerant and blooms all year. They do well in sun or shade.
I don't know if a peace plant is good for outside, but it is the most beautiful plant that last a long time and you just keep it watered. It's very low maintenance and it's absolutely beautiful with those thick leaves and the white flowers
