Shorikai, Genesis Engine cEDH deck tech 

Shorikai is my favorite commander I’ve seen in a long time. It makes me excited about the format again

This is exactly what I was looking for. Just bought the precon and was hoping to make a cEDH deck out of him. Keep up the good work

In a more casual format. I have found that white blue is THE MOST powerful combination. I say that because of experience especially with shorikai, I'm being for realz

I don’t play cedh anymore but I like seeing how cedh players brew decks and bringing the power level down to a good but not too powerful level.

Very interesting deck tech, different from the typical shorikai cedh deck I have been seeing which is polymorph into hullbraker horror, then win

I like the idea. I play Shorikai myself but with intruder alarm as a secondary wincon with Thoracle/lab man. Your idea is nice. Though I think I'd just win by looping Winds of Rebuke right on the spot instead of passing the turn.

just add artifacts, then add urza ( the mono blue one for that dominaria set not the newest one ) then put swift configuration on urza making him a vehicle and not a creature this gets past humility and gives urza his ability back to him, tap artifacts for blue to make 1/1 and draw 2 cards and discard 1 then dramatic reversal to continue the stuff

I took a deck like this to my LGS and won out my pods for the prize. This commander is amazing!

I love this card~ it even has an armored core look too

So i built this deck 2 weeks ago, but my wincon is codex shredder, i also added lion sash incase someone still have grave shuffler. As a grand arbiter player shorikai is a better azorious cmdr.

Some small rules stuff about the combo: If you have an odd number of cards in your deck when you draw all of it with your commander, you could run into the problem that one of Reversal or Twister is the last card in the deck and you would lose by drawing two cards. Its unlikely, but if you go for it infinitely it will happen at some point. This could be solved by simply having something in the deck that draws exactly one card though or by playing out one permanent from your hand or exiling a card from your graveyard before starting the loop. In the unlikely event that you drop scepter+dramatic reversal and have no cards in hand afterwards, you could also draw exactly twister and narset's reversal with the first activation of your commander and lose the combo. This scenario is way less likely than the one above though, because it can only happen at the start of the loop, not infinitely many times.

Now this would be a fun Cedh deck.

If i have infinite mana and draw, i prefer blue sun zenith or sun approach or capsize as a wincon

Timetwister you can time twist on that one blue card that does target dmg since you have infinity mana.

You could also go infinite with intruder alarm and one mana dork after crewing your commander, draw your whole deck and thassa’s oracle for the win

For my Shirokai deck here are the combo's i have: 5-Card Combo Shirokai + Rings + Basalt + Staff of Domination + Altar of the Brood or Dementia 4-Card Combo Rings + Basalt + Staff of Domination + Oracle 3-Card Combo Rings + Basalt + Ballista although i wanna add the swansong move since its fun to have an army xD

You could also run Generous Gift and leave everyone without lands when you pass the turn as well... after you've Cyclonic Rifted all thier elephants. ;-)

Shorikai draws 2 before discarding so with the clamp you'll draw a total of 4 cards (while discarding one in the middle)

Blind obedience extort is another way of winning with infine mana.

I like it. I was looking for an Azorius deck to test out yesterday and this arrived in a good spot. The only part I feel mixed on is Swan Song, I think there might be a more interesting wincon option out there.

You could run an nexus of fate, and not have to pass the turn to win.

Don't even need to loop swans and pass. Could do the Tasigur thing and loop Generous Gift + Reality Shift

Why aren't we running thassa's oracle?

I built more straight forward and built with thassa, lab man, Jace. I added approach as a backup plan and even added some back up ways of emptying my deck including leveler. I also added Fractured Identity so I can cast it on leveler and pass turn and laugh or if need be use as removal. I have only played 1 v 1 but it went 3-0.

Actually it’s better to infinitely cast reality shift to exile all your opponents deck and finish with a final twister decking them. Killing them on your turn without ever passing the turn back to them.

Finally. Don't get why people force a Poly-Strategy on this thing, only because it shits tokens. Its a Draw Engine in the CZ and gives you access to some of the strongest stax pieces in the format. Poly has a huge downside when you only have 2 poly effects, but miss out on creatures from 2 colors.

Why not run aetherflux reservoir as a win con? If you draw it early you can simply discsrd it

How is Humility better in a deck with more creatures? The Polymorph variants all run Alchemist's Retrieval and such as extra ways to remove your own Humility, but you only have to do that when you are about to combo. In this variant Humility is shutting off about 10% of your deck, which makes it a lot worse and negates a lot of the upside to Shorikai in my opinion. I do think this more value-oriented approach to Shorikai works, just using Scepter to win, but I don't think you want to include both value creatures and Humility.

Do you think that you could also be on Hullbreaker Horror even if you're not on the polymorph plan ? I really believe it's a great card for this deck since he can generate infinite mana and untap with Shorikai

with skull clamp you draw 4 cards and discard 1

Couldn't you use twinning staff and make a copy of anything infinitely if you have infinite mana?

Hey mons! I'm a little surprised that you didn't mention that if you have a single extra turn spell in the deck, while you are looping, you can take infinite turns to win or get that turn you need to swing with the swans. Also if you don't play the narset, you can murder each enemy player with Blue Sun's Zenith while you loop. Is there a reason you left that out as a concept?

My take on Skorikai made a stax/ control deck that also has dramatic scepter but seeks to polymorph into hullbreaker / tidespout. Albeit, i think this version is stronger, a polymorph deck is one i haven't personally played in a while.

I think I would play thassa or lab man to win or ballista but I overall I dig the video thanks
