Appreciate the test. I lean towards the 155 & 165 in my 40s for this reason. It appears that velocity much under 950fps with many bullet designs and calibers struggle to properly expand. Gold Dot & HST have been the exception in my crude media tests. Thank you.

The short barrels tend to do better with the 155 & 165 grain bullets while the longer barrels (4-6'') generally do better with 165 - 200grain bullets. In the longer barrels we often see the 155 grain bullets traveling fast enough to over expand and begin to shed weight. The Hornady Critical Defense 165gr is the 1 bullet in that weight that normally expands well in the short barrels

I didn't even know Taurus made a .40 S&W in that model. Has it been reliable? In any case thank you for the test, the Ranger rounds should do just fine in my Glock 27. Thank you.

Was the 180 the 4369? … I have a ton of that and haven’t seen a lot in it other than the same old threads (LE contract over run, PDX1 equivalent). Would love to see more in that round Run 3.9 and 4.5 inch barrels so I am not AS worried… yet
