Time for another sandwich of our history! Today we’re taking on a sandwich that long time SoH follower Allyson sent in. It’s a sandwich her partner John makes for lunch. But here’s the deal, John works close enough that he can get home to enjoy lunch but he’s only got 30 minutes. So he created this, the Short Lunch Sandwich. Thanks for sharing it, Allyson!

Chicken, ranch, bacon and cheddar together in "anything* will always be delicious 😋 What about black pepper bacon or jalapeno bacon?

Out here in eastern Maine i recently discovered some cold pickles called Grillos. They have whole pickles and dill slices. They taste like fresh out of the garden cukes and then brined. I always have Clausen pickles, but the Grillos are something different!

My plus up would be substituting blue cheese dressing in lieu of the ranch, and add a few shakes of Frank's Red Hot wing sauce

This screams 'add bacon' to me. I know John is in a hurry but the pre-cooked bacon takes about 20 seconds to be crispy! Bacon for the plus up please!

I got one for you. Not a legacy sandwich, but I make one of these if I have left over steak or roast beef. OK, first some crusty bread, your choice. Next, a layer of sliced, cold steak or roast beef. Then a layer of cold barbeque beans. Even Campbell's out of the can is good. Then a layer of raw onions, red or other. Then the other slice of bread. Condiments of your choice. Best if cold.

No offense to John, I do not/will not use ranch dressing or chicken lunch meat. I am picky like that. I will happily give the Buffalo treatment (hot sauce in a skillet) to some turkey breast and use blue cheese dressing.
