Thank you for the Fatigue information. I have been battling fatigue terribly for the past year - starting tomorrow I will Force myself outta bed and Walk around the neighborhood.

Sounds like you're adapting. Even though exercising may be the last thing you want to do with fatigue, it is still important. Light exercise can help side effects of fatigue.

I get so emotional with this fatigue. Thank you Dr.

Fatigue can be overwhelming, and people who haven't been through chemotherapy cannot understand just how hard it can be. It can help to get exposure to natural light each day and to get in some movement (my word for exercise, which I don't love…movement sounds kinder).

Alexandra ~ I have found over the years of battling breast cancer that daily walking helps me in a huge way. I was even told by my radiologist to go home & rest after daily radiation therapy - I did that & found myself more fatigued and more depressed - so instead I decided to take a short walk after every treatment and I actually felt better... mentally & emotionally. Just a suggestion. I am sorry to hear you are struggling. ♡

@@juanitagee9511 I took walks after radiation and it made me feel a lot better. It was recommended that I have chemo and I refused that. I already have bladder cancer in remission, MS and Hashimotos's. I don't need more problems. I will take the estrogen suppressant pills but that's it.

Thanks so much for the education and walk through. How soon should a person eat breakfast before treatment?
@yerbba
@yerbba 2 года назад
Great question. You really just want something in your stomach when getting chemotherapy. So you could eat directly before chemotherapy or, if you eat breakfast much earlier, you could have a snack before chemotherapy. There's no particular time you need to wait before getting treatment. You'll get to learn what feels good to you.

Good morning! Are smoothies made with almond milk a good choice for breafast the morning of chemo?

Doctors should give the patients an Emergency 24hr. phone no to call for any problems. When I underwent my 7 month chemo treatment I would get monstrous fevers 3 days after the infusion so I would either go the clinic to get fever reducing medicine via the IV bag and they also gave me fever reducing pills. I had to call the hospital before taking the fever meds. This went on for the first 3 months. But on the overall the constipation was so bad I had to use laxatives.

This kind of side effect should be managed by her oncologist. Don’t' hesitate to let the doctor know how bad her side effects are. Your mother is fortunate to have you

I have start my chemo and I'm having dry mouth text saliva please help me out
@yerbba
@yerbba Год назад
Your dry mouth is likely to be related to the medications you are given to prevent chemotherapy side effects. Some things to try are citrus foods, mouthwashes for dry mouth, and gum for people with dry mouth. It's a really unpleasant side effect, and we hope you get through this quickly.

what's the cause of serious shivering during chemotherapy??
@yerbba
@yerbba Год назад
Severe shivering is not common but may be the result of cold iv fluids given during the chemotherapy.

Are you or your loved one still experiencing intense shivering? My reason for asking is because my relative who has breast cancer has experienced intense shivering a few days after chemotherapy. This was her first session

I was diagnosed with breast cancer but i refuse to take the chemotherapy scared that it will kill me I've heard too many people dieing from taking chemotherapy
@yerbba
@yerbba 7 месяцев назад
The likelihood of dying from chemotherapy in the curative setting is so low that most experienced oncologists have perhaps one or two patients out of thousands who had a fatal consequence of chemotherapy. Of course, it is your choice to decline chemotherapy. As long as you are fully informed about the risks and benefits, the decision is yours to make.

So sorry to hear that you're suffering from neuropathy, which can be one of the worst side effects. I hope you're beginning to notice some improvement. It can take a long time to heal from neuropathy, and some people continue to experience neuropathy long-term. Thanks for writing.
