As far this video goes. Good job explaining it all and not hiding things. Newer guys will be thankful for this information. Save for maintenance. Shop for insurance. You can get your own trucking insurance and lease onto a carrier. You don't have to use their bobtail insurance. Physical Damage insurance. Unless that specific carrier requires you to use theirs. You can get your own much cheaper. Most mega carriers are self insured so of course they want you to use their insurance and they charge you weekly for it. All profit for them.

I would be nice to get an overall report on how you and the LEASEing are doing ....LIke a 2 month review of the whole picture with Knight. For me, I love the mountains. I dont mind climbing up the hills slowly. Gives me time to sit back and chill...look at the scenery. Thanks again for your hard work. We all appreiate the fact that you do this for US!

Ya I considered doing some monthly recaps... but the problem is the spreadsheet is already pretty dense. Cant figure out a way to show a monthly recap in a concise manner....
@redleader
@redleader 5 месяцев назад
@@truckingthesevenseas just leave all that spreadsheet "density" behind. Just carry over the weekly totals and add them up for each month. Dont even parse it out all the mx and fuel...just show, MILES, GROSS $, TOTAL EXPENSE/COST, NET $ 30 DAYS.......DONE!! That way it smooths the data. No disruption "per week" when you have to break up each paycheck. Does that make sense?

Hi @truckingthesevenseas Yeah i recal when you mentioned that someone didnt like it!! But It is kinda funny to me! Sound so different. Also, dont take offense to my comments about the accounting terminology. But you have great data...I just would like to see it on a pivot table. Since your 'WEEKS" tend to get cut .....The "MONTLY" would smooth all that out. While the WEEKy is useful and important, I think the MONTHLY would show a better picture to your audience. Overall it is super helpful to those of us thinking about LEASE programs. It seems also that they let you take some home time when you like. I guess as an O/O you can do that. Where do you live? PNW? OR? WA? Im a sailor also,so I like the "sevenseas" thing!!!

I will be out of the Fontana terminal running the 11 western are they good on getting you home on time
@truckingthesevenseas

Cant say. Every terminal operates as an independent entity. Usually though, most terminals can get you home in a reasonable manner.

Lease is focused towards those who want to pay off the unit or get experience of how the trucking business and fees work. It's not who makes more vs the other. True owner ops with paid off trucks and trailers make ok money. The market is still low and volume is low. For those making 4 plus a mile doing dry Van. Your full of it. Prove it. Because very few if any dry vans are getting up to 3 a mile. Avg is still low 2 a mile. Keep on super truckers
@truckingthesevenseas
@truckingthesevenseas 5 месяцев назад
Pretty much... There are some really crazy claims going on right now but a dry van OTR driver is pulling about 2 a mile...

I like how you get all those nice Western runs!!! I would love those routes all day, everyday. And it seems you are making some decent money running such short huals. It would be good to see your data based solely on MONTHLY totals and averages instead of just breaking it after each paycheck ....since the weekly settlements are often cut off ...so just do the entire month!!. I miss the highspeed buzzzzing when you bobtail in the yard!!! That shit is funny.
@truckingthesevenseas

West coast is where the reasonable rates are right now. I dont love this area because of the mountains and speed limits. Not my favorite. Some people were complaining about the buzzing.... Cant please everyone i suppose. Might switch it up every other episode.

Thank you for sharing your own experience as a lease op. As a company driver I average $1156/w net from Monday through Friday without lease op or o/o’s headaches. Making the move to become a LP or o/o doesn’t worth it to me. I’m still wondering how you can make a good living … I will continue to follow you. Thank you again for sharing your business with us and good luck

does anyone know how much the security deposit is? The extra $0.07 cpm was a little unclear to me. Did you pay a security deposit or is it taken out of you pay or did you pay that upfront?
@truckingthesevenseas

Its $100 a week. Currently at 1900. You keep paying 100 per week until you hit 3500

Just watch ET Transport channel video (EXPLOITING Truck Drivers Through Lease PurchasePrograms) and go from there my friend. I like your videos and concept but feel bad for hard working drivers like you that are being played. Don’t get me wrong I just don’t like Mega crooks carriers like the one that you are right now exploiting good drivers. Good luck and keep learning my friend.

Thanks for the info man really appreciate it, how many miles did your truck have when you got it, also can you be a trainer in your lease truck?
@truckingthesevenseas

It had 110,000 miles when i picked it up. High idle time though. Yes you can train as a O/O or Lease Op. I have no interest though and don't know the process.

Yes. Settlement is every week. Its not too bad for a mega carrier. No force dispatch, reasonable routes, good equipment.... Experience will vary though. Especially from terminal to terminal.

You should really use the terms "YTD or Year to Date" instead of using the term "total" on every other line. Too many "totals" do not make sense. Maybe just pay an accountant to clean up your spreadsheet. Im an accountant you could pay me. My TOTAL monthly income and my YTD income are very good.
@redleader
@redleader 5 месяцев назад
Wait....which is it,...Daily Total, Weekly Total, Monthly Total or yearly Total????? Every line is a TOTAL.!!!! Also you state in your intro that you are "showing" us what "truck drivers make"....wrong!! These numbers are what YOU MAKE. SO SAY THAT INSTEAD. If you are gonna put yourself out there as some kind of data driven god, then for god's sake,.....do it right. Take an Quickbooks online class.
