Although I've made comments, I wish you the best. It's a hard venture and extremely difficult in today's environment. Yes, you won't get rich, but what matters is if you're satisfied with the course you've taken, that's all that matters.

Have you figured out yet that his pay (net after taxes) was more as a company driver?

I might try to put monthly data on separate tabs. Might be a good way of showing monthly...

I do wish you the best. Tell me would you be interested in increasing your fuel mileage by 35%? Get 2 4 X4 blocks and ramp up front axle of empty trailer. 4 inch strap holding front axle off the ground. Remove when dropping. 20 minutes total and go from 6 to 9.

That's $.36cpm after taxes.

Don’t make excuses to feel good to yourself my friend, fuel expenses are hurting us but that’s really not your case in the high pay cut. They are screwing you really bad bro. I have watched every single video of you completely since you start leasing and you only have 1 good week cause it was not expenses or payments. I really don’t try to make you feel bad or something like that but you need to know the truth sir. Soon or later your pay checks are gonna be worst than now cause they want you to quit to lease the same truck to another person. I hope you get a loan and buy a truck outside cheap with the goods rate right now and move to a company that really want to help you and not utilizing you for couple of months. I wish you the best 👏🏻👏🏻

That is my plan. Buy the truck and move to Landstar. Just waiting for things to improve.

@@truckingthesevenseascool, I get it now my friend. Try to get a personal loan , save some money and if you can get your own truck and trailer that will be the best for you . Don’t let the bank know that you are buying a truck cause they consider that a commercial loan and for the fist time applying for a commercial loan in this times is almost impossible getting approve. We are living hard and unfair times but you will accomplish every single goals that you have lil by lil with the side of God. Keep humble and learning, one way or other I know I’ll see you with your own equipment well fair deserved. 💯💪🏼👏🏻👏🏻

Does anyone else realize that making $24ish an hour is the equivalent to minimum wage full time in 1980, and yet you still can barely afford anything? You can't tell me this is profitable.... this is unacceptable - you should be netting $2.5k bare minimum each week for full time work, and even then it's not like you can go home so you deserve more.

If your fuel cost was $0.57/mile and you got 7 mpg, then your average pump price was $3.99. That seems high. Even $0.47/mile lifetime, you're still at $3.27/gal, which again seems high. Does Knight not offer a fuel card with discounts? I see RU-vidrs getting a dollar or more on fuel discounts. Also, I noticed your fuel tax expense line is blank. If it were me, I'd back out fuel tax from the pump price and populate that fuel tax line, at least with an estimate. Between doing that and getting a fuel card discount, that would help me get a clearer picture of my fuel costs, which should be well under $3.00/gal. In my mind fuel cost is tied less to the states I'm driving in and more into truck technology and driving habits, fuel card discounts and of course, where I buy fuel. Stay safe out there.

Let's make it easy. It's a 70/30 split to the truck, and you pay the 30% self-employment tax. For every $1,000.00 in revenue, you get to spend $210.00.

The vast majority are Drops. Maybe 10% live loads.

I don't understand why you would be a lease operator with Knight/Swift. You are basically paying them to drive their truck. I'm home every day and made over $138k gross and take home after taxes was $100k in 2023, drive new equipment, running exactly 2700 miles per week, I have a retirement pension, amazing medical benefits. Like the company I work for which have terminals nationwide, there are many others like that where you don't have to be slave unless thats what you prefer to do.

At the end of it he will own a truck while you’ll be at risk of company downsizing. Let others go on their own path and gloat about your job to somebody who cares (family and friends)

@@nobull4414 do you own any trucks? If you don’t then shut tf up. Not everyone can use the dealership Route. You better own a truck sitting here wondering why someone would want a fleet spec truck

Hey bud , do you have health insurance and retirement being a lease driver? Just curious. As wouldn't a company driver have all the benefits that are worth a bit more that you lease vs company driver pay comparison? As a fellow driver of 30yrs but never worked for a mega carrier so don't know how they do things. Thanks for what you do and stay safe out there.
@truckingthesevenseas
@truckingthesevenseas 8 месяцев назад
Yes I have health insurance. You still had to pay as a company driver btw. They offer you basically the same health plan as a company vs lease driver from what i gather, however i didn't have healthcare through knight when i was a company man so i cant say for sure. I might do a video on retirement (401k) to settle some confusion there but yes i have a 401k as a lease operator and had one as a company driver too.

Gain "O/O" Experience (notice hyphens, I know I am not an actual O/O), wait out the trash market, test drive a vehicle and show what a Lease operator working for a mega carrier actually makes.

No bull has it. Usually about 45 hours. I do not track it to extreme detail though. Weather has been a serious problem lately. Some overlay as well. Summer I tend to get longer and more consistent runs.
