Your videos are not only informative, but I get a kick out of the everyday humor you add in there . Thanks I’m fixing my neighbor’s riding mower chain and don’t have a breaker tool, because they cost $14.50 and I only have $17.00 😂👍

I watched a movie about how to work with the chain. Very pleased! Excellent lessons. You are a true master! Also conveyed greetings to your children from me from Russia. Andrew.
bawad motor thanks again for the comment, that mini bike was broke down about as long as my tractor, they also felt like they have a new toy. it was a much easier and cheaper fix than the tractor... keep your great comments coming from Russia, that is cool.
Thank you! Put my son's atv back in service right away. I used a chisel to break the cap and get it parallel to the link plate. Then a small punch to drive it. Also used an old small socket to stack on the bolt. Thanks again for the hack.
Nice video. Just the correct length to follow you through the process. No unnecessary video. I relearned (used to fix my bike chain in the 50's) how to fix a chain without the fancy tools. Thanks Chud!
Very informative and easy to follow video. I have a 1978 Honda CB125S that the chain is now stretched to the last adjustment on the rear wheel assembly. I was looking at another video that showed grinding out the rivets on one link. So combining that video with yours I will shorten the chain by one link. Nice country style burnout at the end of your video. Here in the city they post signs saying "Keep Off The Grass".
Yes, the pin just presses in, very easy! I have other videos where I offer more for stuff and the people react. I have just filmed another last weekend, but I haven't put that video together. I am glad you like the $17 part! Thanks for watching and for the comment.
Great video, I was about to go out and buy a chain splitter but now I am not, thanks for saving me the money!! I liked and subscribed to your channel, Good luck with it!!
Thank you so much and I am alway glad to help. Be sure to check out more of my videos, some might save you money others maybe not, but they should cost you anything either. Thanks again!
Back in the day, (80's) before punching the pin out. Take a grinder and cut down the head on the pin & it'll basically fall out. That's just how my pops showed me. Cool video 👍🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🏴☠️
It is great for magnet fishing, but it is a work out to pull it back in. Also good as a boat anchor. It can be done with out a magnet too. thanks for watching.
holy crap you are a lifesaver!!! thank you thank you thank you!! I was changing my bike wheels over after a long week, for a race tomorrow morning which also involves changing the chain, and i broke the chain in the wrong place and i fully removed the pin. And i couldn't get the thing back in, after over an hour. But seeing your technique, i got a punch, small magnet and bolt and a pean hammer and bang two blows and i got the pin past the first hole, and i was then able to hit it again and then put it into the chain breaker and get it back in fully. Wow. Thank you. Simple but very useful. I would not have thought of the magnet. You should add a tag for "how do i put the pin back in my bike chain" and you will get more hits. lol
Didnt even need to watch the video, the thumb nail gave me all the i need Thanks dude 😊 😊 😊 👍🏻 but sadly i had no master link so i had to build getto with a link from another chain 😔 lol pray my chain that it doesn’t snap on me
in the old days i just used a nail and a hammer to puch that pin out on my bike chain . a chain breaker is a step up from a nail .we did not have chain breakers in the 1970s . a hole punch i used it too
The solution i found was: (25 chain, pretty small). Press it as much as possible. Break an Allon wrench in half. Hold that over the pin and hammer it. That did the trick.
Olivier Beucken I would have to google what fits a bike. And I would have to go check the number of teeth, but I am pretty sure have a 3/4 shaft, but it is on the go cart. The mini bike, I think, has a smaller shaft. Thanks for the comment.
This is what I used to fix a KMC bike chain that was too long! Ended up using the concrete floor instead of a magnet and held the chain between my feet. I started with a thin punch, so I didn't need to switch.
chud327 sad story LOL got the go kart as a trade for a custom speaker enclosure that I'm going to build ...was for my 3yo son to learn on and we didn't really know the condition of the engine....oil looked fine, got the new torque converter installed and chain installed carburetor clean tank drain started it ran the hell out...donuts and all of it, for about 15 minutes, and locked the engine up LOL... harbor freight tomorrow 😂 going to keep this one for parts
Thank you for making this video! I need to shorten a #25 chain for a school project a similar way but the pin is just not budging. Its really frustrating and i dont know why i cant get the pin out. Is there anything that you think could help me?
@@chud327 Ok thank you for the info. I figured I'd have to grind off the pin on one side so that i can punch it out, and that actually worked suprizingly.
Hey man I'm having trouble taking off my clutch.... it doesn't have the normal three Allen bolts like usual or a set screw that I can see. You know anything about the taking it off?
Yeah I bought a mini bike ... after seeing this video and buying a chain , I'm not messing with it , time to sell it asap , has a 220cc pirhana engine in it but not worth the head ache .
My dad used to work at a factory in town before he retired. He used to get the neatest stuff out of the , believe it or not, dumpster. I worked with him for two summers and spent some time drooling over stuff in the dumpster. Thanks for watching and for the comment. BTW, I plan to put that magnet in my boat and see what I can pull up.
That is ok, I had a girl a few years ago, she thought I was Australian. Thanks again or the comment and keep watching my junk if you want to learn my language. jk.
