Looking good. I like how we see what is being done. Too many youtubers are doing stuff off camera and showing what has been done. Nothing gets learned like that and nothing is explained how it was done. Your vids show how its done.
If ANYONE else were to start this project it’d be done in 2 years. That’s if they even would finish it. You do what nobody else will. Favorite Channel of RU-vid
Man, I am loving the build so much. I love the trucks from this era and this project is looking great. You are almost a sculptor, adding and removing clay from a piece of sculpture. Love the way you work and your aesthetic. Thanks for all your hard work and for sharing it. 😊👍👍
I’m really impressed with how quick this build is progressing, and how good it looks. I find myself thinking go back and do this or that and bang! You do it! Instead of an internal brace on the rear part of the fender you could do an external buttress step from the fender to the bed, giving you an extra step and support for the fender at the same time. Great work, really looking good. Dan.
It's really progressing, Brent. All I can say is your welding supply guy must love you. You work very hard and are not afraid to put in the late nights. Very impressive and inspirational. All the best from England. Mart.
You did a great job finishing the bed and fenders. I wouldn't have thought of cutting and pinching it flat. That's why you're the fab man and I'm not 🤦♂️🤔 Thanks Brent ! I like it. It will look cool towing a big fifth wheel trailer. 😎👍🍺🎸🎵
Wow, you sure have done an incredible job on this truck. And like it's been said here already nobody else will be driving anything like it. You are the man Brent, best to you and yours
I'm amazed at how fast it's coming together. Learning a lot from watching the build. Thanks for the info on the welder and wire you use. Can't wait for the next video.
I'm really looking forward to seeing your truck finished. It's not even finished yet and yet it's looking like a mighty fine rig. I'll be watching for future videos on this rig. Keep em coming!
If it were mine I’d run the old step tanks for fuel with running boards behind to the rear fenders. I think it would look great. Or, as someone in an earlier video mentioned, use them as a step/storage box. That would be a neat idea also. Maybe use one for fuel, one for storage/battery boxes. Just my armchair ideas I reckon. Keep up the incredible work.
Truck is looking great, I have came to the conclusion that you and Scott from Cold War Motors must be twin sons from different mothers with the metalworking skills you both have 😎
Damn, brother, you are the most skilled all-around automotive wizard I have seen on RU-vid. And I have to see your shop is every car guy's idea of a perfect garage/shop. Your skill level is absolutely exceptional. Cheers, mate.
Why not make one up yourself. Looked like some 2.5mm plate. Or use 10mm iron bar forged n bolted to your needs. Would be unique to your and your vehicle
Its profile really looks good with the shorter bed.... I'm excited to see what it looks like when it is all smoothed out, in one color, and with the running boards attached... I think at that point we will appreciate the work being done. Currently, with so many different colored components it is hard for the camera to capture your skills... experience watching your videos tells me that will certainly change given time.
Love the music! Everything you touch is golden right now. I am always so exited when I see you posted a new video. Good on ya for doing something that nobody has ever done before.
I’m thinking that the back fenders would work better if you swapped sides. That way you’d have the low section at the back and it would appear more compatible with the front. Maybe my comment is way too late, but just a thought. Regardless, I’m inspired by the work you do and the skill you bring to the job. Fabulous stuff - keep up the great work. And thanks for sharing your skill!
I am 99% sure the donor cab you cut up used to be driven by my dad a long time ago,he got it new back in 1967 and drove it across canada for a lot of years with Security Storage(Allied Van Lines) gas job with a straight 5 speed trans and a bench seat, good seeing it again,I was in theat cab many times as a kid, nice job on your build
Man-oh-Manitoba.....you have the talent of a surgeon. That Int/Harv is looking great....the only customizing thing I did to mine was paint it Cadillac green. Great work and a real inspiration...best wishes and be well.....eh!
I am so darn envious right now man, what a project, livin the dream, thanks for the post, keep them comin, hope to see it right thru to completion, adios.
Very cool Truck Brent! Leave the drip rails alone. Tighten up the body gaps. You are going to need a lot of good weather stripping, insulation and sound deadening materials, to really make this truck fun to be in. It’s coming out awesome 👏.
Just another idea x2 , put a big bad ass bumper on the front like role bar looking and a role bar inside the cab! Just ideas, anyway it comes out will be awesome like all of the work you put your hands on! 🤓
That thing is look so badass. You did a nice job shortening that box, and making those fenders look pretty damn good. "You only know and I know" reminds me of that old song lol. Nice work brother, looking sweet so far. 😎👍
Wow she looks awesome Brent 😎 with the bed shorted its starting too look like she came out of International harvester like this 😎 you got good eye for detail ,,.stay safe thanks for the upload 😎
Lol, "Only I know and You know" ...49k views in 1 day!! It looks perfect, very interesting how you deleted that line basically same way you stitched the roof in
That is going to be a badass truck when you get it done, I was one of the ones that wanted to see this build really bad and have missed a lot of it because I have been working on my pinto project so much but I will go back and get caught up on them because I have liked this idea since u first mentioned it
I really like that truck. I was wondering how you were able to weld so quickly. Thanks for sharing that tip of using the thinner wire. Its all about the heat. Don't know about you but I try to visualze in my mind before actually doing whatever. I slowed the speed down to .25 to watch you weld. The only problem was the music which I like yet the fiddler sounded like a beginner at the slower speed. That rear right fender is looking better. Its amazing how much you get done knowig you have a day job & family & video to boot. Thanks for sharing.
You know, I have to thank you for posting this. I'm enjoying watching the build, even many months late, because work is actually getting done. There's none of this "Talk for 20 minutes about what you're planning on doing, cut to finished part of the build, mention nothing about things that went wrong, tell everyone watching to like, subscribe, comment, buy your merch, check out the sponsor, tune in next time," crap. It's not a half dozen pictures of a vehicle nearly completed with a backdrop of obnoxious music. It's not another LS swap into a car that everyone's LS swapped before, or stuffing another cheap turbo under the hood of some Japanese four-cylinder car and making it out to be an 'epic upgrade.' There are some good channels out there who can do those things, but yours is the first I stumbled across where you're working entirely on the project. There's no obnoxious filler content, it's all about the project. You're showing your mistakes, getting results, showing people that you don't need a degree in engineering and a million dollars worth of tools to make something cool in your garage. An angle grinder and a decent welder will get you a long way, and metal is a very forgiving medium for creativity, because everything you cut off can be put back on again. It's nice to see someone including their mistakes, working with a majority of tools that the average person could get their hands on, rather than editing everything out and claiming it worked the first time, while praising the glory of their water-jet cutting table, 5-axis CNC machine, and laser cutter for making the job possible. Sometimes the RU-vid algorithm gets it right. Sometimes it recommends something you actually enjoy watching. It recommended the first video of this build to me, and I've been here, powering through the content and enjoying seeing someone actually working on their truck.
