Just bought a little Glock 43x mos 5th generation. I'm decent with a pistol and this little guy is very accurate. My experience with Glock is hit and miss with their accuracy but this one at 25 yards is putting them right where they need to be. Very impressed with it.
None of the pistols are .380 +P rated. That is not a SAAMI or CIP category for .380 Auto. It just means overpressure. Some manufacturers +P really are just borderline SAAMI or CIP max average pressure and some may be as much as 20% over. If you want to go that route I would seek guidance from the ammo manufacturer.
I have fired the Underwood 90grn +p ext penatrators and 68grn.+p ext defenders from the 2.0 bodyguard ( yes it is a great little gun; buy one) It is a locked breach pistol. Many (most) early 380s were blow back and I can see that being the caution. Although I fired lots of the cast Buffalo bore 100grn.+p out of my Beretta 84 which was blowback but relatively large for a 380.
.380 +P make sure feeds ok one handed compromised positions. Id run Hydrashok Deep or if worried about animal defense winchest fmj flat tip for straight penetration. 357 mid tier recoil Golden Saber or Critical Defense might be best for 2" lightweight.
Hey Dave, no lack of respect here considering your health realities. Thanks for the simple explanation. You do a great job on your channel and I enjoy your candor and pace. Yeah I'd stay away from max magnum loads in that K6S. Issue with lightweight revolvers is the violent recoil is enough to act like an inertia bullet-puller and can start to remove bullets from case mouths if the crimp isn't everything it needs to be. That will hang up cylinders from protrusions. You may or may not have had that issue with the Buffalo Bore 180gr. The heavier bullets would tend to do this more than light bullets.
Winchester has an old school 357 load using a 110gr SJHP bullet (product # Q4204). I haven't seen it around lately though. I don't know if it is discontinued or simply on hiatus. ETA: Target Sports USA has some in stock right now. Not much though. A bit over a dollar a round.
Thanks! Interesting video. Have you tested the underwood 38 special 150gr hardcast wadcutters through your k6s ? I would love to hear your input on the felt recoil with those loads through the kimber. Cheers!
My little sister carries a G42 in the summer. Her splits are significantly quicker than with my G43. It also is easier to conceal in the typical female summer wardrobe. I think she had HS Deep in it last I asked. I'm intested in seeing how those mild Fiocchi 148 do in gel at 1000+ fps after seeing how well they did at std press .38 Spl snubbie speeds. I believe they are the same bullet.
@vlogfriendsutopia I'm sure it's on her radar already. She has reached the point she carries her G48 more than the G42, but at the height of summer it's still primarily G42 with flush plate.
