Good tutorial on the app, but I will say that the app is far more reliable when using it to record the videos vs importing them. I just did a vid of a few range session shots and I imported those into shot tracer and couldn’t figure out why it was so terrible. Now I remember that when I use it to record the shots I don’t have those problems. I agree that it may take more time, but maybe try using it during an unpopular playing time and it is a reliable app.

Great review! I recently have implemented shot tracer in my last 2 videos. It's definitely time consuming and sometimes the app crashes. I use windows10 and I had to install a software program to be able to run play store apps on my desktop. I hope they come out with a stable desktop version soon. Love the channel. I liked and subscribed!

Hi Chili Dippa, yeah it’s a really neat piece of kit, it’s quite unstable with how much it crashes but I guess for £5 you have to allow for it. A desktop version would be cool though, save us from having to do it all on our phones! Really glad you like the channel! Spread the word, and remember, always shout fore! 🤣 🏌️‍♂️

So you're just using the camera on your smartphone and the traces the shots pretty well? Does it tell you how fast your ball speed is and stuff like that?

Hi, yes that is the set up that I have. But I’m afraid the app doesn’t give you any stats. These would have to be added manually (eg distance carry), the app is a ball tracer app with a few manual add ins (at no extra charge). If you want those sort of stats you would need a range monitor or similar.

This app is horrendous that second drive tracing wasn't even close to your ball line your ball went left initially

What about instant viewing of the trace? I understand that it goes to the cloud and come back? Is it 30 second or more before it comes on my filmrol?

It can take a short while for the instant trace to work. personally I found it quite prone to error and took too long. This is why I do (and would recommend) importing the video afterwards.

I have the app downloaded on my cell phone, would I be able to have the same features as the PRO shot tracer app for PC's ?

Hi pal - I haven’t used it myself but they do now advertise as saying the same functionality is available on PC & Mac.

Hope this works on my Samsung tablet because I broke the glass where lenses are on my S10+. Can u use front facing camera 📷?

I’ve not used the front facing camera before but I can’t see why this wouldn’t be possible. Assuming the resolution on your front facing camera is similar quality

Can the shot tracer app analyze videos recorded on a smartphone, i.e. Samsung Note20 Ultra? Or it is only compatible with videos recorded on high-res cameras?

No. I’ve used the app primarily with my smartphone (iPhone and previously Samsung).

I can’t see why not. Though a golf net is probably to close to see any deviation off straight.

Hi. The app has a feature which you can input distance into your video. But the app itself doesn’t calculate distance. Nor does it calculate ball speed. Primary features are the ball tracker and swing analysis. Hope this helps, and glad you liked the video.
