Shotcut is very important to me. I'm starting my projects more professionally with this program. Before, I used the 'movie maker' and it was quite limited. A super thank you! ❤ 👍 😁
Thank you for your tutorials! I have a question: is it possible to use the timer as a "clock" in the video? I mean, can I add to the video the counting of present time (hour, min) when video was recorded? For instance, if I recorded my video at 9h45 am, the timer I add in video will start counting from that hh:min (instead of starting at 00:00). Thanks in advance!
Is there a way to make the timer go slower? As in 0.25s for every second of the video (to represent the passage of time in 120 FPS slow-motion clip reduced to 30 FPS).
Add timer to a transparent color clip and export it using one of the alpha presets. Then, you can add it to a video track on top of the background video and change its speed in Properties.
@@ShotcutApp it takes hours though, bc I have a 3 hour long clip and I need to add a 3 hour long timer and then change the speed of the clip with the timer in, buttttttttttttttttttttttt the timer takes hours to export
Do you know if it's possible to apply a timer filter in such a way that when cutting chunks of the video to reduce its size the timer retains previous timestamps instead of shrinking with the video? I want to show a very long process in just a few minutes, so that the timer skips forward along with the video. The only way I know of is exporting the full length video with the timer filter applied and then editing it again, but it's very impractical as the process takes many hours instead of just a few min. Any suggestions? Thanks!
You can, in a separate project, create a transparent color clip with the timer on it as you want it and export it using an alpha export preset. Then, add that to a track in your main project. Turn on Ripple All Tracks - (*) icon - and as you edit the main video tracks, it will edit the timer clip in tandem.
@@ShotcutApp I don't think you understand his question, I have the same question: Is there a way to start counting from, say, 10 minutes, 3 second. So at the beginning of a clip, but the clock is already at 10: 03 and then continues to count. Would be a great help.
@@Hansvds87 Sorry, you are correct. That is not really possible. You could add Timer to a transparent clip, Export that using an alpha preset, and add it to a track above, trimmed to your starting time. More work but now you have a generic counting clip to reuse in projects.
Hello, I was trying to use this to record the amount of time it takes to complete a game. I paused a couple of times and want to be able to stop the timer for when the game's paused and start it back up when I continue playing again. Help would be appreciated
How does one remove the time after is it used? When unchecked, it removes if entirely. In other words, how to make the timer appear, and then disappear?
In the Keyframes panel, you can change the start and end offsets for a filter by dragging the green bar on the left or red bar on the right edge of the clip on the top row.
I downloaded the free version but when i drag a video, it only goes in the large center panel, not on the left side. I'm ok with my first video, just need to cut off the last few seconds, but I have not idea how to do that. Your other video showed you dragging multiple clips below the main video screen, but I only have that one few seconds i want to remove. Can you please tell me the two of three steps to cut cut those last few seconds from my video. I've been trying to do this for a couple of hours and I just need to know how to do this one simple cut. Thank you!
Create a empty video track specifically for your timer to be on. I take it your adding a timer onto each clip which is basically just running the timer to the end of each track and resetting after each clip segment ends.
@@jungoogie Hi, I tried your suggestion, but the timer is invisible or at least doesn't appear on the screen, despite adding the filter to an empty video track
Hey their Shotcut! I've been using your program for weeks now and I love it, but one problem, how do you use the Shake 1 Second - Scaled and Shake 1 Second - Unscaled presets to the Size and Position filter. everytime i do, it doesnt show up shaking.
It shakes the first one second of whatever is selected when you add the filter. Pay attention to what is selected and make sure you view the first one second. Also, make sure your version is 18.09.15 or .16. If you need to do a different part of the clip either split the clip or use the filter trimming in the Keyframes panel.
Hello, everybody! Tell my, please, somebody how to add captions after the video, BUT THEIR MUST TO SWIM UP (also as it happens after movies) ?? Is there such a filter?
Use Overlay HTML filter and click the WebVfx Javascript checkbox. This creates a template to do vertical scrolling text. Of course, you need to click the Edit button in that filter to enter and format the text.
In the latest version there are Square Video Modes. Create your project starting with that. Then, just export using default settings, which will create an H.264 MP4 file compatible with Instagram.
Upgrade to the latest version, then use the following filters in sequence: Mask: Simple Shape, Mosaic, Mask: Apply. Adjust the Simple Shape to fit your face. If your face moves, make the shape bigger or use Keyframes to move the shape.
