This is evident from this video that Djokovic doesn't hold back from appreciating his opponents. More than anything else he is great at nets in defeat, expressing his respect and acknowledging how well the opponent played.
@spencerpompian3641 plenty of people say Serena has bad sportsmanship. She's passionate, she's excellent, she knows she's excellent, and people don't like that.
Sportsmanship has nothing to do with it-it's a completely "free" gesture, with no risk associated. Also, some players can perceive the implication that it's special for them to hit that shot as condescending, and I can't blame them.

Djokovic applauded Tsitsipas on a saved set point in RG final (and lost that set two points later). I don't think anyone else did something similar in the history of tennis
I saw Serena do it when Sharapova saved a match point against her in Australia. Serena and Novak are typically the players that applaud their opponents' shots the most.
Think about it, the only people really applauding are the greatest in the game, why is that, because they have so much belief that they can applaud great points since the know they are going to win
Nah, that's just not true. Djokovic aplauds ON EVERY GREAT SHOT and Nadal and Federer aplauds only on few great shots. That's the difference. His sportsmanship is bigger than Federer's and Nadal's.
@@hristijandimitrovski8664 I meant that good shot is the ‘threshold’ for Novak. If he applauds a good shot, then it also means that he will applaud a great shot. 🤷
Nadal featuring only once in the video and not even actually applauding speaks volume of his character while djokovic on other hand applauds every other player.
