@@EventualWarlord in denial about what? well maybe i had to put more info about my views, I actually think that KD cant win without another player being a leader so mostly agree with a point, but at the other hand not that much info cuz most of his carrier he played with Russ, and while Russ was insane on paper at the start of his prime i already said that this guy would never win a championship while hes starting point guard for any team, his only chance is when hes old and playing from the bench. Just no chance you are favorite to win when your point guard playing against the best shooter of all time and see him stop & pop 3 pointer and he decides to do the same while being terrible perimeter shooter. Totally disagree with Wildes and Broussard about Boston. Jaylen Brown is 25 and has continued to improve on both ends. KD will be 34 next season, and while he’s better than Jaylen and Tatum right now, his age and injury history suggest his decline is imminent. I don’t know if Boston will make it back to the Finals with their current roster, but I also don’t think it’s a guarantee that will happen with KD. Why not run it back and retain your assets instead of blowing it up to bet on an uncertain title run?
@jorgegamboa5821
@jorgegamboa5821 Год назад
Boston caught a couple of nice breaks this finals run.. no Middleton and no Herro (6MOY). So it is going to be very hard for them to get back if they stay the same. If they only trade Brown and picks for KD, Boston would get substantially better. Jaylen is a nice player, but he's no Kevin Durant.

@MrJones019
@MrJones019 Год назад
Well I totally agree with him. No matter how good Brown becomes he's never gonna be close to KD. Adding KD gives you 3-4 year run for the title. What do assets mean if you just keep them for the sake of it, winning is the thing that matters. No guarantee Boston wins with either Brown of KD, because guarantees do not exist in life, much less in sport. However, your chances are much higher with KD, or at least I think so and that is what Wildes is pointing out. Not even talking about just Boston. Let's take the Raptors example: let's say Barnes develops to be great. That could give you a chance of 10% of winning a title over the next 10-15 years (the number is probably lowe as a looooot of factors influence this). Now, let's say KD gives you just 11% chance of winning over 4 years, you take that chance. Bottom line is a lot of factors go into winning a championship/developing a star player (A LOT). KD is a certainty, no other player not named Curry, LeBron, Giannis, Embiid, Jokic or Doncic (throwing a younger one) are.
@scottmurphy6162
@scottmurphy6162 Год назад
@@jorgegamboa5821 KD is absolutely better than Jaylen, but the Nets reportedly want a king’s ransom for an injury prone star who’s at or approaching the end of his prime. The problem with the Wolves trading Edwards for KD, is that KD is on the back end of his career, and has an extensive injury history. This means your window for success is very short in a league stacked with great teams. This is crazy.. historically speeking you need a top 5 player in the league to win a championship. I would bet on a 3 years stretch of tries with KD over any player on this list aside of Curry, Luka and Giannis. Embiid and Jokic are great but this is a guard oriented league. Tatum floped on this finals on a way I wouldn't see KD flopping. Memphis at certain point was playing better without Ja and Zion is very enjury prone. Mobley and Edwards I'm not even going to discuss. If I was on Minesota entourage and I would know for a fact that the GM declined a trade of Edwards for KD I would call the cops.

That Pistons team was the perfect storm of a bunch of very good players who played well together (and also played great defense) that went up against a dynasty in the Lakers that was already on the decline. When it comes to how teams need a transcendent superstar to win a championship, I wonder how much of this is chicken versus egg. The NBA is a superstar driven league and they are invested in superstars getting their chips and as such the games are refereed to reflect the league's interests.

I think the only team that should go for this move is the Blazers in December. Dame is 30 and the chances of getting another star committed to play there that plays at that level is so low. I think they have to break the bank to get him and KD on the same roster to make runs while they are still both in their primes. I really don’t see any other team giving up that much. Especially teams with young stars as their best players which the Nets would want. I also think that if KD isn’t traded by then, the Blazers have a chance to test Anfernee and Sharpe on the court with Dame. I think depending in how they look, the could trade for KD. If they look like an actual team that can go deep, than don’t trade for him but if they look nice but they’re still at best a 2nd round exit, just go on with the deal.

First time Warriors got Durant, it was a free agent signing. They had to trade Andrew Bogut away to make room for Durant's salary but otherwise they didn't have to give up players. This time they would have to give up Wiggins -- who played great in the finals -- & Kuminga, etc. to get him. Wiggins is just 27 and not having health issues. And a better defender. Durant at 34, with recent injury issues and a questionable attitude, is probably not the right choice for the Warriors who have great chemistry and just won a title without KD.

That list of players on rookie extensions keeps getting brought up..... The Nets can't trade for those young stars while Ben Simmons is still on their roster. Why is Simmons getting moved again not being discussed as an option for the Nets to get one of those guys? The only thing I can think of is that maybe the Nets wanna let Simmons show what he can do over the first couple months of the season to generate more perceived value, then move him before the trade deadline? Even if that's the Nets' strategy, nobody seems to be mentioning that the Nets CAN get one of those young stars in exchange for Durant IF they move Simmons. Three team deal with Lakers and Suns? Lakers get Kyrie and Harris, Nets get Westbrook and Booker, Suns get Durant. Or something like this, including picks and additional players to make the money right. Ayton would be involved somehow as well. Major shake-up! There are a few ways these three teams could put good deals together.....
